The attacks became more frequent but it was agreed upon
that Selene would not join the fighting until it was
necessary. So far the Scouts had been able to defeat the
attacks but lately they were having more difficulty in doing
it. Selene had wanted to help since the beginning but Luna
had wanted her to stay out of the way. She had reasoned
that the inners and the outers had to learn to trust each
other, the fighting was suppose to accomplish that. So she
had reluctantly agreed, but she didn’t like it. Every time
she saw someone get hurt it was almost unbearable to stop
the urge to jump in and help. So far Selene had enrolled in
her old school and even made friends with Amy and Lita, but
caution made her spend only small amount of time with them.
She was afraid they’ll start picking up on Serena’s
characteristics. She hadn’t changed that much. What really
terrified her was the confrontation with Raye. For a brief
moment she saw recognition in Raye’s eyes then the sadness
returned. Guilt ate away at her more and more each day
every time she accidentally saw the flashing pain in her
friends eyes. Good thing she hadn’t bumped into Darien.
The fighting went from bad to worse. From Selene’s
viewpoint she saw her scouts dropping one by one from
exhaustion. Finally the only ones standing was Sailor Pluto
and Darien.
Rhea couldn’t take it anymore and she knew that Selene
was nearby. ‘I guess it is time that the scouts finally
meet Sailor Cosmos.’ Outloud Sailor Pluto called for help.
“I can’t take...” she didn’t even finish her sentence
when a figure stood in between herself and the blast meant
for her. She saw Sailor Cosmos block the blast and then
counter-attack. “Cosmic Destruction,” the fight was finally
over.
Selene looked over her fallen friends. She knew she
could heal them right then and there but then again the
questions would surely follow. ‘Am I ready for this?’ All
thoughts of letting them heal themselves was forgotten when
she saw Darien bleeding. ‘I’m sorry I can’t heal your other
wounds love but for now I’ll just heal your psychical pain.’
Selene whispered a few words, her staff glowed until the
light enveloped everyone. As the light died down the scouts
and Tuxedo Mask found themselves completely healed.
“Who are you?” Rei asked rather suspiciously.
Selene looked helplessly at Sailor Pluto and when she
saw her friend looking helplessly back at her she knew she
was all alone. People had started to stir and a crowd
seemed to form out of nowhere. “This conversation will be
better conducted at a more private place,” not giving them a
chance to object Selene transported them to Rei’s temple.
“This is a lot better,” Selene exclaimed.
The scouts wearily looked over the new scout. With
what she displayed they knew she was very powerful, more
powerful then the outer scouts. She wore a sailor scout
uniform except it was all white with a white cape, like
Tuxedo Masks. (I don’t want to go into detail but if you’ve
seen a picture of Sailor Cosmos then she looks like that.
Except her hair is down, not in meatballs. She also comes
equipped with a staff that looks like the one in the picture
but it has six crystals that forms a circle with a crescent
moon and a sun in the middle.)
“Who are you?” Amy asked this time.
“I am the protector of the cosmos, Sailor Cosmos. I
have come to help with the upcoming battle.”
“Are you the light everyone is talking about?”
        “Partly.”
“What is that suppose to mean?” Sailor Uranus asked.
“Right at this moment I cannot reveal anything, but I
give you my word that everything will be told in time.”
“So what exactly are we up against?” Lita asked, still
a little overwhelmed by the new scout.
“You already have a pretty good idea but the difference
with these monsters is that they are a lot harder to kill
than the ones you have faced before. That is where I come
in. Since Sailor Moon was the strongest among you I am here
to balance the powers again.”
Silence descended upon the room. Understanding hung
thick in the air. All knew where they stood, there were no
questions on what the objective was. It was plain and
simple, to protect. Not just for their galaxy, not even
just for the cosmos, but for their reality and everything
they believed in.
“Will you show us who you are?” Mina asked, breaking
the silence. She was really curious about the new scout’s
identity. In a strange way she made her feel like Serena
was closer.
“I’m sorry, but no. It is not that I don’t trust all
of you but right now it would be easier if you do not know.”
“What do you mean easier?” Amy thought that was a weird
comment.
Selene couldn’t stand it anymore. The feelings her
scouts and Darien were projecting were to intense. She
decided to just leave before her scouts found their momentum
and ask a hundred questions. The gathering ended with the
scouts still wondering on who the newcomer could possibly
be.

The nega-verse base...
“Report Prince Diamond,” a voice coming from the throne
commanded.
“It seems my queen that another has entered the
picture. She wields great magick, greater than all the
scouts put together. If she had not showed up today the
scouts would have surely been defeated. She is the only
worthy opponent.”
“Do you have any idea on who this girl may be?”
“No my queen but we are working on it. All we know is
that she calls herself Sailor Cosmos.”
“Do it faster. The time is almost near and I need that
planet to be completely defenseless or everything will fall
apart. Find out who she is and every little thing about
her. Family, friends, boyfriends, anything that may be her
undoing.”
“As you wish my queen,” Diamond bowed then left.
“It seems that all the players are assembled. We shall
see who will come out on top this time,” Metallia’a evil
laughter could be heard throughout the castle.

Darien had been so suspicious of Sailor Pluto that she
had asked Amy for help. He was sure that Serena was alive
and someone was keeping all of them in the dark.
“So have you come up with anything Amy?”
“Sorry Darien but something is wrong with my computer.
It almost seems like someone sabotaged my computer so I
won’t be able to pick up on specific energy forces,” Amy was
puzzled by the way her computer has been acting and
according to Artemis the central computer was down also.
“Are you sure it is not just the weird energy floating
around?”
“I’m positive. Right now my computer is just a little
better than a calculator and it just doesn’t make sense.
Energy vibes can’t affect my computer like that, it is just
not plausible.”
“So what you are saying is that someone is trying real
hard to keep us from finding Serena?”
“I don’t want to cause you more pain but yes, I believe
that someone has gone through a lot to keep us away from the
truth. And, it has to be someone with the knowledge and
access with my computer and central.”
“An inside job? Who would do such a thing?”
“I don’t know Darien but I think it is better if we
keep our findings to ourselves. If it is a inside job we
might make them panic.”
“How do I know it isn’t you?” he asked suspiciously.
“I don’t know how to prove it to you Darien but I want
Serena back as much as you do. She wasn’t the smartest and
she did have the tendency to be a flake but when it counted
she was always there for all of us. She was my first
friend, along with the other scouts and without her the
scouts and the friendship we have created is slowly
withering away.” It wasn’t her speech that convinced
Darien, rather the sadness and loneliness that reflects the
same emotions in both their eyes.
“I forget sometimes that there were others that cared
for her just as deeply as I do.”
“I know where you come from Darien but I swear on my
friendship with Serena and to you that I have no clue on
what the hell is going on. I just want to know if my
bestfriend is alive and in need of help. She can’t do it
alone no matter what she thinks.”
“I believe you. I just want to know who the hell would
keep us from finding her. Don’t they know that we can’t, I
can’t live without her?”

“Have you heard anything Luna?” Serena asked while
doing research on her computer.
Luna still couldn’t believe that the girl in front of
her was the same clumsy carefree girl she use to know. ‘She
has changed so much, I am so proud of her. It’s just too
bad that the others will never see the leader Serena was
capable of being.’
“Earth to Luna, come in Luna. Hey did you hear what I
asked you?” confused by her friend’s silence.
“Oh, sorry Serena. I was just thinking about the
girls. What did you say?”
“I asked if you heard anything from Darien and the
others.”
“No, they have been very quiet about the whole subject.
I think all four have been trying to cope in their own ways
and as for Darien I have no clue where that boy is.”
“I have a bad feeling about all the silence. I got the
same thing from Rhea, except that Heather(Sailor Saturn) is
still positive I am alive.”
“I think you are right but we can’t do anything about
it.”
“I just don’t want them to get hurt.”
“You can’t protect them if they do not want to be
protected.”
“If they do not know they are being protected then
there is no problem,” she stated quietly.
“I still think you are doing it all wrong. Your
strength is from your friends and your love. You said so
yourself, you need them.”
“No Luna, my strength comes from my determination to
protect and help my friends. This is the best way.”
“It is like trying to reason with a wall. All right I
won’t bug you about it again tonight but I still think you
are wrong,” changing the subject Luna asked where Rhea was.
“Oh, she is out with the outers’, something about
lunch...” Luna saw her close her eyes, her body stiffened.
“Sele what is wrong?” her voice filled with concern,
“The nega-verse is attacking,” Luna watched as Selene
transformed to the legendary soldier and transport them near
the attack in a blink of an eye.
“Why didn’t you just teleport to the battle?”
“They would have seen you with me and I don’t think we
can explain that without hurting feelings. Not to mention
the inquiry you will face.”
        “Oh, I forgot.”
“It is okay Luna, just don’t make it a habit. It is
still awhile before I can face Metallia. Stay away from the
fighting and follow me after a few minutes so no one will
suspect.”
Serena ran and followed the yelling and the large
amount of fireworks. When she had reached the battle she
saw that this time it was not a youma but a silver haired
man. By the way her scouts looked he had incredible power.
Tuxedo Mask had just been thrown off his feet by the
energy blast he had taken for Sailor Pluto and was about to
receive another when it was stopped by a staff flying out of
nowhere and embedding itself in front of him and the enemy
that called himself Diamond.
“Why can’t you people just play nice for a change?” an
exasperated voice asked from behind.
Diamond had been surprised and angry with the sudden
interference and was preparing to blast the newcomer until
he laid his eyes on the warrior. The girl jumped down to
retrieve her staff and blocked Tuxedo Mask from another
painful attack, she gave him an unwavering gaze.
‘Can someone be truly that beautiful?’ he was dazed by
the emotions he felt just by staring at the beautiful
warrior.
Selene was confused by the way her enemy was staring at
her with his mouth open. ‘Is my boobs hanging out or
something? I feel like he can see me naked.’
Selene had decided to just hit him over the head to
knock him out of his trance when he finally spoke.
“I have a preposition for you Sailor Cosmos. We have
seen your potential and in behalf of my master Metallia we
ask that you consider joining the nega-force instead of
these worthless fools.”
Not even thinking she responded with a resolute ‘No’.
“You would stay with these pathetic bunch who have no
chance of winning than joining the nega-verse and myself who
would give you anything. I could make you my queen and we
could rule this pathetic galaxy.”
“Do you always come out this strong with a person you
just met? I just met you and you are already asking for
marriage and not only that I’m your enemy. Talk about
opposites attract,” Selene was surprised by his ‘marriage
proposal’.
“You do not have to be the enemy. Just help us take
over this reality.”
“Never!” this time she said it with more conviction.
Selene was getting sick and tired of people proposing to get
in her pants. Does she look like the type of girl that
gives up her principles so easily.
“I won’t fight you this time Sailor Cosmos but remember
this, when my master has taken over I will come back for you
and this time the choice will no longer be yours.” He
vanished after giving her a determined and very lustful
look.
“Who the hell was that weirdo? What nerve he has to
think that I would actually go with him. Talk about
dillusional. I’m a one man woman,” Selene hadn’t meant to
speak outloud. The problem was that her voice, posture, and
female outrage was so, so Serena-like.
Darien looked up suddenly and stared at the powerful
warrior in front of him. The inners were also staring at
her in the same incredulous and hurtful eyes that Darien
had, while Luna and Sailor Pluto was horror stricken.
Darien grabbed a hold of the girl’s hand and when she
looked down at him with her silver eyes he almost cried.
The coloring might not be the same but the gaze was the same
one she gave him when he was struck down by Zoicite.
        “Serena...”
