A Guide to Mihagino

Kogane Kodan, Mihagino, is one of the most central ALT apartment buildings in Kitakyushu (see map) - a mere 5-minute walk from 2 monorail stations and one of the biggest bus stops in Kitakyushu. From here you can go just about anywhere in Kyushu including Fukuoka, Nagasaki and the International Airport. The apartments have nearly everything you need within easy walking distance. There is a velodrome, baseball stadium, tennis courts, park and a shopping arcade within a 5-10 minute walk. Kokura Station and the city center are only a 5 min monorail ride away (10mins by bike if you get stuck at lights!). Kitakyushu's central Post Office is also only a 7 min walk away for when you receive big packages from home. You will be about a 10 min bike ride from Kanada Kodan and a 10-15 min bus ride from Itozu.

Apartment Details
Kogane Kodan is one of the smaller apartments and should look like the model above (or a mirror image of it). It is however one of the nicer ones. The building is 12 stories with 1 apartment on the 8th floor and one on the 11th floor. There are immediate neighbours to only one side of you. It has a western style toilet and a Japanese style bathroom (i.e. you wash outside the bath and then soak in it) with shower fixture. The gas water heater provides hot water to the whole apartment. The washing machine is next to the bathroom and a washbasin is next to that. The spacious kitchen/dining area has a BOE provided Fridge/Freezer and gas cooker + table and 4 chairs. The tatami room opens onto this area (with the removal of the sliding screen doors) and that in turn opens onto the balcony with views of the surrounding mountains and city (no smoke stacks here). The tatami room has 4 large and 4 small cupboards for all your belongings so clutter shouldn't be a problem. The apartments are easy to keep warm or cool and are bug free. These apartments are large enough for one person to live in easily and a great place to live.
