APPEARANCE: A Dark Haired, Lean, Shaven Youth, wearing simple traveling clothes over his armor, dressing more for endurance than fashion statement. HISTORY: Ladis doesn’t care much to be asked about his past, but those he will open up to invariable find it a rather odd tale, perhaps tragic, or at worst unbelievable. Ladis Thorne claims to be the son of a male Black Mage and female White Mage, who went against their clans’ wishes and married out of love rather than ideal. The result of the unbreakable romance was Ladis. At first, he was thought to be magically inept, as he showed neither potency towards Black or White magic, nor any other type normally studied. It was feared he was totally incapable of using magic, but after many an instance where strange misfortunes befell monsters who tried to feast on the boy’s flesh, it was discovered he had the power of Geomancy, controlling the powers of the land. This was both a blessing and a curse, in that Ladis could learn nothing from his parents. But still he stayed, happily living out his life with his family. Power meant nothing to him. Then, one day, while practicing his arts in the woods nearby, Ladis felt the earth cry out, as if something had gone terribly, terribly wrong. Returning home proved fruitless, as the village where he resided had vanished. Not burned, not destroyed, but vanished, as if it were never built. A dazed and confused 13-year old Ladis was adopted by an wandering Geomancer, who needed an apprentice to carry on his work due to his increasing age. For 4 years Ladis studied the art of manipulating the leylines under the sagely man’s guidance. Then, on Ladis’ 17th birthday, tragedy struck. The Old Man’s heart had stopped in the night, and, with a heavy heart, Ladis buried his mentor who had seen him through his darkest hour. Now the Geomancer sets out into the world, the only memory of his past being a small, wooden cross around his neck. He seeks answers to why his village vanished, how God can exist when all this Chaos abounds, and when, if ever, he will cease feeling the eternal wanderlust that drives him from continent to continent. But in the process of seeking the answers, will he forget the questions?
