| August 7, 2002 | J, Ka, Ke came to Berkeley. We had congee, rice, and noodles for dinner. During dinner, we watched a movie, "?·R¦?#034;!! It was ok, but it reminded me of tiramisu. We chatted and had some fun!! They left around 11:30pm. |
| August 8, 2002 | Today's session is very helpful for the homework assignment. This assignment took me a lot of time to draw the diagrams with computer, but they looked nicer than if I draw them by hand. Since this assignment only need to draw diagrams, I think the clearness and cleanness of the diagrams are very important. I finished 2/3 of the assignment. If I finish the rest tongiht, then I will have a very very free and relaxing weekend lu!!! ^.^ |

| August 10, 2002 | Happy Birthday to Elvis ar!!! ^0^ Today is as hot as yesterday. I stayed at home in the day, and my room is like an oven. Soooooo hot ne!! ~.~ Then I went to work at night. V, S, R, and B came to have dinner. We talked about whether we can smell the smell of urine after eating asparagus. It was fun. hahaha.... |

| August 13, 2002 | Happy Birthday Bonnie T.!!! ^0^ At the end today's lecture, I got the take-home final paper. It seems hard and time consuming. My group met after class to discuss the questions, and we came up a brief idea of how to answer those questions. However, we all think we will feel more confident to do the take-home final after Ben explaining it in tomorrow class (hopefully). I will have a long day tomorrow... |

| August 14, 2002 | Happy Birthday Ron C.!!! ^o^ Today's really a long day, but I laughed a lot during class and sessions. In the lecture, about 30 - 40 mins before 4pm, Ben asked volunteer to do an impression of him or an impression of Alyssa (GSI) (imitate them) to get an extra credit point. There were six (I think) people imitated Ben and Alyssa individually. hahahha..... They imitated Ben and Alyssa very well......really caught Ben's and Alyssa's facial expression and "unintentional gestures"...... sooooooo funny, hahahaha.....^0^ |
August 15, 2002 | Today is a tired for me... First, I met two of my group members around 12:15pm, then we went to Alyssa's OH at 1:00pm. We discussed a lot of stuff about the take-home final. After the OH, we went to the discussion (the second one in a week). We also talked about the final. Ideas, hints, suggestion that were given by Alyssa is helpful!!!!^^ After the discussion, my group met again to confirm all the answers that we changed and came up with. When I got back to the dorm, it was almost 4pm. Then I started to pack my stuff to get ready to move out and tried to finish my final. Since I used most of time to pack, I did not finish the final when I was at the dorm. J came around 10:30pm. S and B helped me to load my stuff to J's car. (Thanks S and B!! ^.^) J and I went to get some hotdogs at Top Dog. The hotdogs are delicious as usual. Yummy!!!! When I arrive home, it's abt 11:30pm. Soooooo tired...but still need to squeeze out some energy in order to finish the final... Now it's 3:08am, the final is done 20 mins ago....YEAH!!!! Now I think it's the best time to go to sleep....need to get up early coz the I will go back to school before 12noon to hand in the final....ZzzzZzzz |
| August 16, 2002 | I woke up at 8am today...what a sleepy day!! I arrived at school around 11am, so I went directly to Alyssa's office to turn in my final after I got off the bus. She was not there, so I just slipped my final under the door. After that, I went back to the dorm. V was not there coz she was taking her math final. I took pictures with S, B, and R. Then S, B, R, V, Yoon-ah and I went to have lunch (last lunch at dorm). We took some pics. I hope S will send me the pics as soon as possible la... After lunch, I went home. V needed to pack her stuff so that she could move to another dorm. I went to work at night. The business was pretty good or maybe just my secion. I got quite good tips!! hehe!! Although I was quite sleepy throughout the day, I went to bed around 1 or 2am. haha...need to get up early tomorrow morning coz my mom and I will go to the new place to pick up the keys... |
| August 17, 2002 | yes, woke up around 8am again today...Mom and I arrived at the place that I'm going to live for the coming semesters around 11am. We were early!! ^^ I got my keys, and I saw my new roommate, Carrie. She is nice!! I'm looking forward to see my thrid roommate, Liz...need to wait until tomorrow coz she moved in after I left. Mom and I went to a Korean restaurant to have a BBQ Beef over rice. It's really delicious!! We left Berkeley around 1:30pm, and we arrived home around 3pm. I worked at night. The business was not as good as yesterday night but better than last two weeks. Chicken wings for dinner, YEAH!!! I tried to pack some stuff for tomorrow's moving...but hadn't pack much...lazy me...ha! Slept around 2am... |
| August 18, 2002 | Happy Birthday to Jovy, Winnie L. and Marco!!! ^0^ Sorry for not updating the diary for few days....busy ma, need to pack, unpack, and pack and move again... Dave helped me to move stuff in the new place. Thank you sooooooo much Dave!! I hope you'll better soon...don't get sick ar!!! hahaha...I ate a lot today!! First, I had a bowl fo rice at home. Then when I and Dave arrived at Berkeley, we had hotdogs (surely again from Topdog). After that, we went to Bongo Burger to get a lamb sandwiches (Persian Burger?! right spelling?). We shared it coz it's too big for one person. I had 1/3 of it. It tasted pretty good!! After Dave left, I stayed at the dorm to organize my stuff and waited for CF to come. Around 6:30pm, CF came. We went to Ranch 99 to have dinner. We had some Taiwanese food. It's pretty good! CF, thanks for treating me a dinner and giving me a ride back to home!!! ^0^ It's really nice to see you and chat with you! haha!! Hopefully I will sleep soon coz my mom is sleeping right now. I seemed like I'm kind of making some noise...sorry mom... Chatting with Aileen now... ^.^ |
| August 19, 2002 | I woke up at 9:45am this morning. Last night sleep was so great!! ^^ Semester started today at COM, so my mom went to school this morning. A friend called me around 12:30pm (which is 3:30pm in HK) and said "thank you" for the birthday present that I sent him. haha... Then at the afternoon, I went to Target with V and Ka. After that, V gave her mom a ride to work, and V and I went to Northgate to buy something. Finally, I bought a birthday present for my sister. It's eye mask by Clarins. That's what she wants. hehe...I'll give it to her on Wednesday. I went home around 6:40pm. I had dinner with mom. My mom cooked pan-fried chicken wings which is one of my favorite dishes!!! ^0^ After dinner, I played with Ball Ball Chu. I didn't do much today since I was to lazy to organize my stuff......I know it's bad......Anyway, I will oragnize all my stuff before school starts! I promise!! Tomorrow, I will have lunch with my friend coz he will go back to Hawaii on Wednesday ne... |
| August 20, 2002 | My friend and I went to a restaurant in Novato, Hilltop Cafe. It's a nice place coz it's really on top of a little hill. After that, I went to COM to meet V and visit Bessie (my counselor) and Peggy (my boss at Math lab). We chatted and had a lot of fun!! ^0^ V and I went to pick up Ka at night. We chatted with sensei!! She is as funny as she was!! hahaha.... |

| August 26, 2002 | School started today with a 8am class this morning. The first class is cog sci 100. The professor is a visiting professor. He handed out some packages and asked us to fill them out. They are pretty long... There was a strike concerning low pay for the clerical staffs and professors working at Cal started today, and it will last for three days. It sounds quite scary, but luckily nothing bad happened. After the first class, I went back to WH to have an early lunch, tomato beef and egg (Soooo delicious, thanks Mom!! ^0^). Then I went to psy 127 at 11am. I met the professor for psy 127 in my other class. He seemed to be an interesting professor! ^^ I read through the syllabus for each class, and I knew that I will have a lot of stuff to read...>.< Around 6pm, I went to the whole house BBQ. I met some housemates there. The hamburgers, salad, chips with salsa, grilled vegetables and dessert are great!! It was great to talk with the board members of WH. My roommates and I went to bed pretty early... |
| August 27, 2002 | Happy Birthday, Ah Chu and Onyx!! ^o^ Woke up around 8am this morning. Then I went to Philosophy class at 9:30am. I also met the professor before. He is very interesting, but I was too sleepy to stay awake in the class. I fell asleep...I know I'm bad...sorry! Psy 126 started at 12:30pm. The professor was the same professor that I had in cog sci 1. I felt so great because I saw a lot of familiar faces in all my classes. Feel like back to home, kinda... At night, I had dinner with V. |
| August 28, 2002 | No class for cog sci 100 coz the prof needed to go on strike. haha, so I just need to go to psy 126 discussion and psy 127 lecture. I watched a video in the discussion. It was kind of boring...maybe coz I'm sleepy la... At night, I had dinner with my roommate, Liz. I used her new rice cooker to cook some rice and steamed some eggs. We also had some beef stew from can. It was simple but good! ^^ |
| August 29, 2002 | Class again at 9:30am. I brought my labtop to classes to take notes coz I felt the professor in Phil 132 talks quite fast. It helped a lot, and I didn't fall asleep in the class today!! ^^ I used my laptop in psy 126 as well. The battery was almost empty after school. I think I will continue to bring my laptop to all my classes. Around 6:30, V and I went to the first meeting of Hong Kong Student Association. We watched a movie that was made by the officers of HKSA, and we played some games. It was quite fun. All members are divided into groups with 2-3 officers. V and I made some new friends!! It was almost 10pm when I got back to WH. |

| August 31, 2002 | Happy Birthday my primary school classmate, LS! ^.^ Woke up around 9am this morning...my biological clock woke me up...ha! J came by in the afternoon to get some apple soup. She said outside was very hot. I went to work around 5pm with my aunt. The restaurant was soooooo busy ne...I worked until 10:30pm. Even though I got great tips tonight, my legs were sore... Before my mom and I went to bed, we watched a Korean movie (Ka lent us) called "My wife is a Big Brother". It was pretty funny! ^o^ Slept around 1:30am... |
| September 1, 2002 | ~.~ Woke up by an urgent #1 call around 5am (drink too much water before sleep). Then slept back and woke up around 11am. Lazy pig... Try to read but the weather was soooooo hot. Hot weather gave me headache. Luckily, there was cold drink in the fridge...yeah!! Read some...but could not really remember what I had read... I spent a lot of time to eat and drink, hahaha!! Tomorrow is Labor Day, no school ne!! Therefore, I will go back to Berkeley tomorrow, not today. I feel quite sleepy now...Zzzz |
