Shitoku Danchi, Shii, is located in the southern ward of Kitakyushu (see map),
and is within reach of the countryside and surrounding mountains. However the apartment
building is also very close to the very convenient monorail line; the nearest station being only
a 3-minute walk away.Trains run every 10 minutes into central Kokura and the journey only
takes 15 minutes. Shitoku is also near the intercity bus route to Fukuoka City.
Shitoku is a quiet residential area with all essential amenities within easy walking
distance. It is also near the centre of Moritsune town (monorail 5 mins), which has 2
shopping centres, a fitness centre, sports centre, many restaurants, and the all-important
Nafco DIY store. Just a bit further away is Kitakyushu University and a huge modern
horse-racing track - worth a visit even if you don't bet!
In terms of scenic beauty, then both the waterfall at Sugao and Masabuchi Dam are within
an hour's bike ride. And you can easily catch a bus up into the mountains of Hiraodai -
a national park with granite outcrops and a network of underground caves!

Apartment Details
Your apartment should look like the 3D model above. It has a western style toilet and a Japanese style bathroom (i.e.
you wash outside the bath, then soak inside it) with shower fixture. A gas water heater
provides hot water to the bathroom. A small wash-room area next to the bathroom has a
washbasin, and space for the washing machine (clothes can be hung on lines on the balcony).
The kitchen/dining room has a ring gas burner provided by the BOE, and
fridge-freezer. But not a whole lot else. Check to see what is included. Tatami room #1
faces the front of the building, while the second tatami room can be opened up to the
kitchen and dining room by the removal of its sliding screen doors (as shown above), or by
opening the sliding glass doors leading to the balcony. The tatami rooms and the genkan
(entrance) both have considerable storage space, so clutter needn't be a problem. All
together the apartment is a very spacious size for one person to live in. Have fun...
