1:when did clean plate start?
i was listening to some comp in my car and thinking what bands i'd put on a comp if i could make one... that record was start a riot.

2:what was your first record?
pigs suck. when we realized we didn't have the money to press an LP we figured we needed something to make the label a little money and that we could afford.

3:why did you start a label?
see #1.

4:how did laceration start/give me the story on laceration?
I thought - i can do a fastcore/grind band. I wanted us to be the most prolific band ever and it was a lot less serious a project when it started. Now, despite about 100 songs I think Spazz has us beat.(editors note: spazz has over 200 songs so yes they have you beat will)

5:when is the motherfucking lesion/agoc split coming out (is it?)?
this summer?

6:what is your favorite record that you put out?
Hmmmm. The Damad 7" about to come out is fucking brutal, same with the Dahmer. I don't know, maybe the civil disobedience songs on start a riot.

7:what is your favorite record that you did not put out?
Systral - Fever 10"

8:what is your favorite band?
SYSTRAL FUCKING DESTROYS!

9:why did you name your label "clean plate records"?
It was a joke between some of my friends and I about cleaning your plate at a meal. then we had a joke grindcore band and it was named the clean plate club. when the label a started and i was doing it with someone in that band that label name seemed obvious for some reason, i guess it's pretty silly.

twenty years too fucking old.

different records or of one record? 1) one 2) 1000-2000

12:how much money would you say you've sunk into clean plate?
I'm almost all paid back now by Clean Plate, but at the most I think I've had $4,000 of my own money in it once.

13:how much have you made?
Trading for records is the only thing I've gotten in return. 14:is doing a label a pain in the ass (is it worth it)?

Sometimes it's a pain, but it's worth it to meet cool people and do shit I like doing, maybe someday I can live to some degree off doing what I enjoy - that's a dream at least.

15:what do you go to school for?
Errr.... I think I'm settling down to study experimental music and the psychology of music. Basically, if havign a label didn't clue ya in, I love music.

16:who would you most like to do a record with/what is your fantasy record?
Bands I truly love: Systral, Capitalist Casualties, Neurosis, and maybe Discordance Axis (just cause I know I'll never get to do a record with them) four way split LP.

17:which of your records sold the most?
Pigs Suck has sold about 5,000 and I need to press more.

18:how did you get hooked up with such kick ass distrobution?
Go with the people you like and trust. Rhetoric rocks.

19:do you get mad that hardcore/powerviolence/grindcore/crust stuff is bigger now or are you glad?
I don't really care that much. It's nice to see more people excited about what I'm excited about, there's more people to talk to about it.

20:what would you do with a million dollars?
Put out tons of records, get a decent house somewhere among some rolling hills in the countryside, try to be happy. Rock n roll all night and party every day.

thank you will dandy.
