Everyone's favorite sorceress! Lina's the main character of the series. She's a master of magic and all things arcane. (Not to mention pretty good at hand-to-hand combat to boot!) Lina is a master of black and Shamanist magic. (She also knows a little bit of white magic.) Lina favorite spell is the dragon slave which is the most powerful spell in black magic. Lina can also tap into the power of the lord of nightmares in order to cast the giga slave. (The giga slave is even stronger the dragon slave! If cast wrong the giga slave can envelop the world in a void of nothingess returning it to chaos!) In addtion to this when she uses her demon blood talismans she can cast the laguna blade (Which is dark negative enegy focused into a blade which can slice through dementional barriers.) The talismans consist of four gems. Each represeting a demon king under the lord of nightmares. One representing Ruby Eye Sabaranigudu, one for Dark Star, one for Chaotic Blue, and one for Death Fog. (This symbolizes her drawing power from all four to cast it.)Lina _loves_ eating..., and can really pack stuff away! Lina's main goal in life is to rob from the rich, and give... to herself....

The incredibly dense swordsman of the series. (Hey, you know there had to be one.) He joined up with Lina in the begining of the first Slayers TV series. He has a heart of gold and a brain... of glass. ^_^ Gourry is also the owner of the incredible sword of light (The hikari no ken) This weapon is capable of transforming the holders will into power, and can amplify magic. It's said that long ago a great swordsman possesing the sword of light destroyed the great demon Zanaffar in one stroke with it. Gourry is the decendent of this swordsman. According to The Slayers Perfect Movie Gourry is also part elf! (Hey, that makes him cool automatically!)

At a young age Zelgadiss was changed into a Chimera by his Grand father Rezo making him 1/3 burou demon, 1/3 stone golem, and 1/3 human. Although quiet and unemotional at times he will always help his friends if they are in need. Zelgadiss is a master of Shamanist magic, and a good swordsman. Not to mention his chimera body. The burou demon part of him gives Zel his quickness and agility, his stone golem part gives him his invincible stone skin, and his human part gives him... well... everything else. ^_^ He originaly joined forces with Lina because of his bitter hatred toward his grand father for changing him into a Chimera, and joined up again in Next in search of a cure for his condition.

Ameria is the young princess of Saillune. She's also an hero crazed self-proclaimed ally of justice. (Complete with Sailor Moon type speeches.) Ameria focuses on Shamanist magic as-well-as white magic. She also as the hots for Zel, and is always following him around. She is always there to punish all that is unjust or evil at the most annoying times. Her main weakness seems to be a fear of anything ugly and grotesque. Ameria only uses hand-to-hand combat and magic for attacks. Because Ameria witnessed her mom's messy murder at a young age she is now afraid of swords and bladed weapons. Ameria's long-lost sister Princess Gracia is supposed to be Naga.

Philionel is the eccentric prince of Saillune. (Ameria's dad...) He taught Ameria "the way of justice" and brought her up to be kind and defend the innocent. Phil himself claims to be a pacifist. While not possesing any "magic" when pushed he is a very strong fighter. (He can destroy two brass demons at once with one kick!!) Also he's fond of doing double techniques with his beloved daughter Ameria. Basically he's kinda scary overall... ^_^

She is the quirky white priestess of Celphied from Sairaag making her a competent white magic user. While she knows very powerful white magic, her black magic is very lacking unless she's really pushed... Shilfiell is desperately in love with Gourry. Clinging to him, and calling him "Gourry-sama." ::shudder:: This is because Gourry saved her town awhile ago (As in before he met Lina.) I think anyway, but my translation might not me correct... ^_^;; After Shilfiell's tremendous loss in the first series she dedicates her life to helping others. I'm not sure why but I really like Shilfiell for some reason...

Blind since birth Rezo has always longed to see. His desperation lead to the study of all forces of magic. He's a master of all types of magic. Rezo is also both the grand-father, an great grand-father of Zelgadiss. He changed Zel into a Chimera in order for him to quickly gain strength.

Vrumugun was hired by Ellis in order to capture Lina and Gourry. Vrumugun is an unemontional sorcerer with strong magic. He always sounds calm and bored (Unless he's casting a spell... ^_^) In there travels Lina has killed him many times, but he always comes back to annoy her. (You find out why he keeps coming back to life when they finally get to Sairaag.)

Along with Vrumugun, Zangulus was hired by Ellis in order to capture Lina and Gourry and bring them to Sairaag. An excellent swordsman. After he is beaten by Gourry (The toughest opponent he ever faces.) he becomes obsessed with beating Gourry in a sword fight even to the point of ignoring his orders and going on alone. Zangulus posseses the demon blade howling sword (ma ken haolingu sordo) which was created by Copy Rezo and allows Zangulus to shoot waves of demonic energy.

Ellis (Or Eris in the U.S. release by Software Sculptors.) is your typical villaness complete with low cut black leather dress, evil voice, and evil villaness lipstick. ^_^ She is responsible for creating Copy Rezo. Her love for the true Rezo drove her to do this. Before the Slayers storyline Rezo met Ellis and taught her magic but then suddenly ditched her in order to find the philosipher's stone. Heart broken Ellis tried to catch up with Rezo when she found out he was dead Ellis created the next best thing to the real Rezo...

Xelloss joins the gang in the begining of Slayers Next, and seems to be searching for the legendary Clair Bibles. He is called the trickster priest and posseses strong magic power. Xelloss is very secretive and always seems to know more then he should, or "remember" something when the information is absolutely vital. His most used line is "Sore wa himitsu desu!" (That is a secret!) Xelloss is the one who traded her his demon blood talismans that lets Lina control stronger magic spells and allow her to cast the Laguna blade.

Martina is the typical princess wanting o take over the world type. She bears a grudge against Lina because Lina kinda wrecked her town in the begining of Slayers Next... ^_^ She even learned magic to try and get even with Lina. Martina always is carrying around a talismen to her dark lord "Zoamel Gustav" (Or "Zoamelguster" in te U.S. release ^_^;;), and is always worshipping or talking about him. (Did I mention she made this god up herself? ^_^;;) She also falls in love with just about every male character in the series! (Adding "sama" to the end of her love's names ::double shudder::) Until of course the end of Slayers NEXT where she gets married... (Whom she marries I won't say... ^_^) She's also suprisingly penniless for a princess (Well Lina DID destroy her kingdom.) and has to take various jobs to earn money throughout the series... It takes her awhile but Martina eventually warms up to Lina, and helps the group out later in Slayers Next.

Remii joins up with Lina in the Slayers special storyline, and hasn't yet appeared in the anime. Remii is _OBSESSED_ with swords and other bladed weapons. She names all her weapons, and carries at least 20 with her at all times. Remii also loves to fight, and sometimes looses herself in the midst of battle. ^_^;; In the Slayers Super Famicom RPG when Remii joins you. She steals your money and uses it to buy more swords ^_^ Here are a few (Not all) of her weapon names: Jack-kun the Long sword, Riper-kun the short sword, Haris-kun the Tobidashi knife, Bardy-kun the throwing dagger, and Karma-kun the Ikokufuu.

Naga is Lina's extremely well built bikini-clad sorceress comapnion during the Slayers Special series. (Which took place BEFORE she met Gourry.) While not as good at magic as Lina is, her scary disturbing laugh can be considered a weapon. ::shiver:: Naga also drinks about as much as Lina eats. ^_^;; It's also rumored that she is Ameria's long-lost sister Princess Gracia, and they do kinda look similar. (This is actually an official rumor that the creator himself stated.) Adding to this rumor Ameria's mom was murdered rather messily and Ameria and Gracia walked in and saw they're mom's body. Shortly after Gracia ran away. This could be why Naga faints at the sight of blood. Also in Slayers Try Ameria says she has a sister that is almost as tall as Gourry, and has a scary laugh.

Filia joins up in Slayers Try looking for champions to help her. Actually before she sought out Lina she first went to Luna Inverse for help. Filia is a golden dragon, and priestess of the Fire Dragon King (Karyu-ou). She can teleport, and can transform into a dragon at will. Filia also carries around a honking-big mace which she keeps concealed under her dress. (Always ready to bash someone senseless with it... ^_^) In addition to this she can also teleport small distances but can only be done on solid ground. She can also tap into the Fire Dragon King's power and use holy dragon magic. Because of Xelloss' "nature" she has a bitter grudge against him, and always refers to him as "nama gomi" which translated to "raw garbage".

Valgaav was originally Valteira, and was one of the Ancient Dragons, once the most powerful of the dragon race. However, the Gold Dragons massacred them, in fear of their power, and to posess a weapon that the Ancient Dragons would not give to them (One of the weapons of light.). Before Valteira died, however, the Mazoku lord Gaav appeared to him and made him an offer: to be reborn as a Mazoku. Valteira saw this as a way to get his revenge, and was then reborn as Valgaav. He isn't really evil or good, but rather seeks to avenge the extinction of his race and the death of Gaav, (not to mention his goal of 'resetting' the world..) and uses a rather evil method in which to accomplish that..

Black Fox is a skilled theif that Lina crosses paths with when she and Gourry are tring to recover the Crystal Goddess statue that Black Fox had stolen. When he first met Lina he was captivated by her, swearing he would steal her lips. (Much to Lina's dismay) Black Fox is very agile, a master of disguise, and is well liked by the lower class villagers of his town. His real name is Barry Fletcher and lower class villagers like him because he acts kinda like a Robin Hood. (A.k.a. the OPPOSITE of Lina ^_^)

Sherra may look like an ordinary girl but she is actually the general of the dark lord Dynast Grausherra. Sherra appears in the novels with a mission to kill Lina. She is owner of the demon sword, Dolgofar, which can change humans into lesser demons.

Luna is Lina's older sister. She's a _very_ strong sorceress (Better then Lina!) and is referred to as the Ceified Knight. Although Lina and Luna aren't on very good terms. The reason is rumored to be because Lina projected a picture of Luna to the whole town for cash. Which wouldn't be a problem except Luna was taking a bath at the time. ^_^;; (Hmm Luna also vaguely resembles Xelloss...) However, Luna as yet to actually make a formal appearence in the Slayers series. Perhaps in the fourth season...
