Volume 9
Chapter 3: Reikai Juushuugen! (translation)
Chapter 4: Fukumen no Shita no Sugao (translation)
The Urameshi team meets the Uraotogi team while wandering in the bleachers. (Nothing good ever happens when they do this—why can't they stay in their hotel room?) The Uraotogi team is as charming as ever. (Kuromomotarou: "You make me puke.") Yuusuke trades some trash with Shishiwakamaru, who wigs out and turns into a demon. Big-ass horns, fangs, everything. Cooool.
Chapter 6: Yokyousorou!!
After some hype by the announcers, the two teams walk out. First the Urameshi team, represented only by Hiei, Kuwabara, and Kurama, since Genkai and Yuusuke are off in the outback arguing about who gets to keep Genkai's reiki; and they look bandaged, bloodied, and torn. Not good. The Uraotogi team strolls out at full strength, looking as fresh as daisies. Well, evil, man-eating Makai daisies. The teams trash-talk each other some more, then get down to business.
Shishiwakamaru pulls out a set of dice with the team members' names written on the sides—one die for Uraotogi, one for Urameshi. He proposes that the fights be determined by dice. Hiei agrees, Shishiwakamaru tosses the dice, and the match is on.
In the next several chapters, Shishiwakamaru has random reaction shots and a few panels of snide commentary. The real meat of the story picks up in...
Volume 10
Chapter 1: Mezameta Youko!!
Shishiwakamaru kills his own teammate for blithering under interrogation. Interrogation by Makai Audrey II, so it's a little harsh of Shishiwakamaru. Shishiwakamaru throws the dice again, and they come up as Shishiwakamaru vs. Fukumen.
Chapter 2: Yougi Shishiwakamaru!!
Because Fukumen isn't around to fight, Shishiwakamaru baits Kuwabara into coming up and fighting. Kuwabara is about to do it when Hiei stops him, and Kurama stops Hiei... and the three play jankenpon to determine who goes up. Kuwabara wins with paper.
Kuwabara fires up his reiken and charges at Shishiwakamaru, who does a lovely bullfighting maneuver with his Cloak of Death and blips Kuwabara into the Other Dimension. Shishiwakamaru-senshu no shouri desu! The fans go wild.
Shishiwakamaru throws the dice again, and they come up as *** vs. Fukumen. Shishiwakamaru says, "Of course, I will fight. Which of you will go?" Hiei is about to fight in Fukumen's place when Fukumen shows up.
Chapter 3: Shoutaihanmei!!
A chase and a little swordplay later, Shishiwakamaru rips Fukumen's mask off to reveal that she is Genkai. Genkai isn't the young woman she was when her mask last came off, so the crowd starts screaming for the death penalty (for substitution of team members), while the announcer goes to get an official ruling.
The ruling returns: The old woman is the same as the young woman from before; the fight can go on.
Shishiwakamaru gets nasty. He starts showing off the sword's powers: As he pulls apart the hilt, stringy ooze grows out of the halves and clots into a mass of veins and moaning heads. Shishiwakamaru now has a sword with a long, long hilt, the central section of which looks... organic. It's eleven-foot pole time! (Because there are some things you don't want to touch with a ten-foot pole.)
Chapter 4: Shiryou no Yobigoe!! Crying Spirits of the Dead!
As Shishiwakamaru twirls his sword like a baton, it lets out a piercing howl which doubles over half the audience. When he stops, there are glowing spirits circling the hilt like fireflies. He leaps and brings the sword down on Genkai—big boom.
Huge skulls fly out of the blast and start eating heads in the audience. (Hiei and Toguro dispell them without twitching. Impressive.) When the blast clears, there's a big crater, a smug Shishiwakamaru, and a mocking, untouched Genkai. Whoops, make that a seriously pissed-off Shishiwakamaru. He raises a kekkai around Genkai and himself so that she can't escape, then twirls the sword and leaps at her again.
She catches the sword between her palms, looks up at him with young eyes, and blows his own power back at him. The sword shatters. Shishiwakamaru skids across the stage on his back in a spray of blood.
Just before he passes out, Shishiwakamaru tells Genkai that after seeing her young form, he fell a little in love with her.
(Ageist.)
Chapter 5: Takishou Onjii!!
Shishiwakamaru makes a brief appearance on the first page as an unconscious splat on the ground.
Volume 12
Chapter : Ketteisenkaishi!!
Pp. 1-2 are a montage of quick shots of various characters in the stands, watching the start of the fight between Yuusuke and Toguro. Shishiwakamaru is on page 2, bandaged to the throat and looking tense.
Volume 18
Chapter 5: Takishou Onjii!!
Kurama approaches the youkai who have been training at Genkai's temple—Chuu, Jin, Touya, Rinku, Suzuki, and Chibi-Waka-chan—and invites them to join him. Shishiwakamaru still has a bug up his nose from the Ankoku Bujuutsukai, but the rest of the team outvotes him five to one.
Chapter 5: Takishou Onjii!!
While Yuusuke negotiates with Yomi, Kurama and the team hide behind a sliding screen and listen in. (I have no idea how Kurama managed to keep Chuu, Rinku, and Jin quiet.) At one point, Kurama holds up a sheet of paper with "****?" written on it. Chuu, Rinku, Jin, and Touya write back, "YUUSUKE! Don't listen, fool!" In the background, Shishiwakamaru holds up "No answer," while Suzuki crosses it out and writes in, "Yuusuke."
Volume 19
The final tournament and its aftermath; Shishiwakamaru's fights aren't shown, but we do get to see him wandering the stands with the rest of the team, then traveling through the Makai with Touya, Jin, and Suzuki later. (In chibi form!) Amazingly, no one falls for him, and he doesn't fall for anyone, even though a clunker like Chuu found a honey.
