
February and March 1999
- Nicky starred in RTHK's (Radio Television Hong Kong) television series, "IT 檔案",
with Suen Gai-Gwan.
- Nicky will start filming his new movie, "Sha Shou Ren Xin" 「殺手仁心」, on
March 8th in Hong Kong. The movie also stars Ada Choi Siu-Fen and Lawrence Ng Kai-Wah.
- The Chinese Chang Chun Movie Festival (中國長春電影節) will be holding a large
concert on March 7th and has invited Nicky to attend.
- Nicky has started recording his new Cantonese album already. He is singing the
theme song to the cartoon, "Young Wong Fei-Hong" (卡通片 「少年黃飛鴻」 主題曲).
- Nicky held two concerts in Atlantic City at the Claridge Casino. The concert was

January 1999
- Nicky will be holding two concerts in Atlantic City at the Claridge Casino on
February 21st with female singer, Chang Yong. This will be Nicky's first U.S.
concert. For all fans who live in the northeastern part of the United States,
please go and support Nicky!
- Nicky is the representative for "Saving the Coral Reefs" in Taiwan. He participated in the
"Care for the Sea - Save the Coral Reefs" event. Nicky stated that he enjoys diving a lot
and that the most beautiful scenery lies undersea. However, he was very disappointed to see
that many of the living things undersea are being destroyed by pollution. In addition, Nicky
hopes to learn how to take pictures undersea so he can capture all the beautiful images.
December 1998
- Nicky is currently in Taiwan filming Chu Yin-Ping's movie,
"Nan Sheng Nu Sheng Pei," which also stars Vivian Hsu. He will also be starring
in two other movies, "Zi Hu Die" and "Sha Shou Ren Xin." In addition, Tsui Hark
is preparing an action movie script, based on a comic book, for Nicky.
- Nicky was in Singapore as a special guest for the Singapore TV Star Awards.
- The Little Tigers were reunited in Beijing. Nicky and Benny were in Beijing
recording a show. Afterwards, they visited Tommy at the set of "Wan Zhu Ge Ge."
Although the weather was very cold and below freezing, it was a very heart warming
event since they have not seen each other in so long.
- Nicky will be starring with Aaron Kwok in Tsui Hark's upcoming action movie.
The movie also stars Tse Yin and a Japanese actor.
- Nicky will be releasing a Cantonese album early next year. He may also be
starring in Hong Kong TVB's television series; however, it is not definite yet.
November 1998
- Nicky openly stated the characteristics that he is looking for in a girlfriend.
He said that she has to be mature with long hair and large eyes.
- Nicky will be going to Beijing to film his new movie. He stated that he
will not be able to go to Hong Kong again until March of next year.
- Nicky has signed with Paco Wong's new management company called
Gold Label. Gold Label will help Nicky with his movie and singing careers in
Hong Kong. Nicky stated that he will concentrate on his two movies first.
It will not be until next March or April before he releases an album.
- Nicky is the representative for firemen in Taiwan this year. He made a
commercial called "Courageous Firemen." The head of Taipei's firemen stated that
they chose Nicky because of his righteous and courageous character.
- The filming of "Zi Hu Die" (Purple Butterfly) has been postponed to December.
Nicky will be filming Chu Yin-Ping's comedy "Nan Sheng Nu Sheng Pei" first.
- Nicky visited Tsui Hark when he was in Hong Kong. Tsui Hark is working on a
movie script for Nicky, base on a manga comic book.
- Nicky attended Aaron Kwok's concert in Hong Kong. Aaron was very happy to
see Nicky. They used to be in the same record company (UFO/Warner Records).
Aaron and his manager, Siu Mei, stated that they see a great future
lying ahead for Nicky.
October 1998
- After serving 418 days in the army, Nicky is officially out of the army.
During that time, Nicky hurt his arm five times. He even had to undergo surgery
on his arm. Thus, he applied for early release from the army. Since April,
Nicky has been staying home and resting since the army let him out temporarily.
During that time, Nicky was going through a lot, physically and emotionally.
His mother stated that Nicky had very low self-esteem and was mentally down.
He was afraid that he will become "useless" because his arm. However, Nicky is
now off to a fresh start. He thanked all the people who gave him encouragement so
he was able to make it through those hard times. After his release from the
army, Nicky will mainly concentrate on his movie career. As for singing,
he will let his record company, Go East, make the arrangements. However,
the earliest time he will be able to release an album is next spring.
- Nicky will star with Hong Kong actress, Michelle Reis (Lee Ka-Yan), in the
action movie, "Zi Hu Die" (Purple Butterfly). In the movie, Michelle Reis plays a
cold blooded killer. The movie also stars Annie Wu Chen-Jun and Japanese actor,
Asaku Yoshida. His company representative stated that the movie will help his
come back in Asia.
- Taiwan director, Chu Yin-Ping, stated that he has been waiting for Nicky's return.
He believes Nicky has a lot of potential. In December, Nicky will be starring
in Chu Yin-Ping's school comedy, "Nan Sheng Nu Sheng Pei," with Vivian Hsu. Nicky
said he does not feel awkward starring with Vivian Hsu since they are friends.
- Nicky went to Vancouver, Canada for two weeks to relax. He stayed at his
manager's (Miao Wiu-Li) house. He encountered many of his fans from Hong Kong,
Taiwan, Singapore, and Japan. He stated that he used to care only about work and
never had time to go on vacations. However, he realizes how important it is now.
So, he will leave some time in his schedule every year to take a short vacation.
In addition, he plans to learn English by hiring a private tutor.
August 1998
- Nicky recorded a duet with Jonathan Chang Ke-Fan who was one of the members
of the group, "Red Hot Boys". For the past half a year, Nicky has been recovering
from his arm injury. In addition, his feelings have changed a lot after seeing
Tommy Su You-Peng and Benny Chen Zhi-Peng launched their TV acting careers.
He stated he has mix emotions on his future acting career. He also said there have
been great changes in the music industry since he went into the army. So, he is
unsure if he will continue his singing career. He first wants to see the reactions
from his new song. Jonathan Chang's Mandarin album, "Deep Loneliness"
(Ji Moh Hong Zha), was released in August. It contains the duet with Nicky,
"Dance Together" (Yi Qi Tiao Wu).
