Carey Lowell

Carey Lowell was born in Huntington, New York, the second of four daughters. During her early years, her father’s work as a geologist took the family all over the world: she lived in Texas, Virginia and Colorado, as well as in Libya, Holland and France. Later, she studied at the University of Colorado at Boulder for a year and then moved to New York City to start a career in modeling.

While in New York, where she studied literature at New York University, she began to take private acting lessons. She landed a role in the feature film "Club Paradise" with Robin Williams, Peter O’Toole and Twiggy. From there she went on to appear in "Dangerously Close", "Downtwisted", "Me & Him", "License to Kill", "The Guardian" and "Road to Ruin". She played the deceased wife of Tom Hanks’ character in "Sleepless in Seattle" and a bank teller (opposite Nicholas Cage) in "Leaving Las Vegas", and appeared in "Fierce Creatures", which reunited the cast from "A Fish Called Wanda". Lowell’s television credits include a lead role in the series "A League of Their Own", directed by Penny Marshall.

Lowell lives in New York with her daughter. Her birthday is February 11.
