How I came to Love Classic Movies and

How This  Page started

My love of Classic Movies dates back when I was only 5 yrs. old. I've   seen my  first Classic movie on channel  FEN owned and operated that time by the U.S Military Base in my hometown-Subic. This channel  shows Hollywood Classic movies as well as  T.V shows like Oprah, Jeopardy, NBA and other American TV programs  which you can never see on  Philippine local channels at that time. Since then, My family always  watch Hollywood Classic Movies at home. During the early 90s however, the  US Naval Base was removed from Subic and so the service of FEN was stopped. Today , you can  see Classic movies being aired on local channels only once in a while . Its also difficult   finding Videos and other materials here. Good thing , Subic CATV, the  Cable Company operating in our place added  channels like TNT.

However, last Dec. 9,  I was hired as a Programmer here in Manila. This require me to transfer from Subic to my sisters place  in Cavite. The place where I'm stayin' right  now doesn't have any  Cabling system or whatsoever, just the good old Antennaes now I can no longer watch classic Movies regularly. But there are few occasions that I was able to watch them,  like now ,CTV 31 is featuring Audrey Hepburn's  movie every Sunday, or when I'm in Subic for  vacation.

Last January, while surfing the net for Classic movies, I stumbled on Elizabeth's ReelClassics. Missing  my Classic Movies so much, I become  a frequent  visitor of Reelclasics-- 'stealing' Hayley Mills Pictures on it, downloading files and later was inspired to add a page for Classic Movies here on my Webpage.

Last Jan. 27, I wrote a letter to Elizabeth asking for permission to use Hayley Mills picture that I got from her site,  I received a reply from her recommending me to other people in the web who owns the pictures that i stolen. She even gave  an advice not to get stuffs on other peoples site w/o asking for permission. Following her advice, I send  messages to people and other web masters to ask permission. Up to now, none of them answered back,  As you can see, my pages are lacking pictures and other stuff. Our company is expecting to  have a Scanner by March so  Scanning  pictures from magazines will be easy for me  , so expect pictures appear here by next month(hopefully). If you have some stuffs you wish to share Pls. send it to me through my Email Address.

This page however  contains only my most favorite Classic movies and is not a   full-pledged Classic Movie Homepage just like Reelclassics and others. If youre lookin for a one stop resource, you can visit the other  site that I recommend here and find  links to Classic movie home pages too.

Now, heres my  list of my  favorite Classic Movies.

Breakfast at Tiffanys(1961)-"Someone  w/ a wav file of Moon River? Pls. share it w/ me"

Based on Truman Capote's novel, Breakfast at Tiffanys  is a bright, romantic look at life in early 60s New York City.  Castings include Audrey Hepburn who play the daring, Holly Golightly - a N.Y party girl who meets a young Novelist being kept by a wealthy, old woman. Holly falls in love with him and her life becomes complicated. One thing I like  about "Breakfast at Tiffanys" is the film's music. The film's score, and theme song  "Moon River," both won Oscars.

"Hey, Did  you know that  Marily Monroe is supposed to play  Holly?. The author actually envisioned her as Holly but for some reason, the role was given to Audrey.."
