Nagano Olympics, 1998

This is a wee bit late in the making, but here are some photos from my visit to the Winter Olympics two
years ago (whoa, I have been here too long), some of which you should click on for a larger image.  We went to
watch a hockey game, France vs. Balarus, which surprisingly was not sold out...heh...we sat right above the smelly
French dugout, waving out American and Canadian flags and getting on the big TV when they aimed the camera at
us.  Occasionally, I would wander over to the Balarus section and chant with them and some random Japanese
guys.  Naturally, they wrecked France 4-0.  Sweet!  Afterwards, we wandered the city, having nowhere to stay.
We stayed at a Jazz club until 3, where the waitress would occasionally sing a set.  When we were booted from
there, we hit THIRTY'S, the local Pizzaria where everyone and their mother was hanging out.  In the morning, a
chipper Scotsman came in and let us model his jacket.  Sadly, I don't have those pictures.  All in all, it was one of
the highlights of my years here and made me an Olympic fan for life.  I just love hanging out with random people
from all over the world.  Tha'ts why I'm still here.  But anyway...
