MX-6 is a
handcrafted masterpiece of timekeeping devices.
Swiss fuseé (chain-driven pulley) drive, 15
ruby-jewel, damascened, 24-karat
gold-plated movement with real diamond endcap
jewel, spring detent escapement,
compensation balance and palladium helical
spring. Movement sealed in solid brass
housing with heavy beveled crystal cover (4½"
diameter). Fully-gimbaled inside a
three-tier carrying case with mahogany "piano"
finish, Red Wood. Serial number,
Cyrillic markings on dial. Inset second and
56-hour registers. Cover of inner case
opens to display clock through glass-covered
section, which also opens so you can
wind or set clock. Inner case (7"x7"x7") rests in
10"x10"x10" velvet-lined outer case,
with own leather carrying strap and velvet
protective cover, held in a red wood box.
English instructions. These are becoming
increasingly difficult to obtain and quantities
are extremely limited. Other Specs: *The
clockwork of the chronometer consists of the
spring movement, train wheel, escapement system,
regulator (balance with hairspring),
and hand mechanism. *The dial has full marking.
It has the second hand dial and the
up-and-down indicator dial. *The chronometer has
an hour hand, a minute hand, a
second hand, as well as aup-and-down indicator
hand. The up-&-down indicator hand
shows the operating time of the chronometer after
the winding of the spring. *The
clockwork of the chronometer is placed in a metal
case. The chronometer is set in
gimbals so that its position will no be disturbed
by the ship's motions, the gimbals being
secured in the inner box. The inner box is placed
in the outer padded box which
protecs the chronometer against shocks and abrupt
temperature. *The chronometer is
adjusted be mean solar or sidereal time.
