CHILDLINE
'Childline' is a 24 hour emergency helpline for children in distress. The helpline with a toll free Telephone is open to any child or concerned adult. If a child in need of shelter, medical asistance, repatriation, protection from abuse, emotional support may contact Childline,that is located at local NGO ' Dnyana Devi'. ChildLine will attend the calls and once a call is received at Childline, volunteers will immediately rush to the rescue site while one volunteer continues to talk to the child on the phone if required.
The programme has been initiated by 'Action for Rights of the Child (ARC), a city-based form of NGOs which works for under-privilaged children.The entire service is being run with the co-operation of various institutions like the Education Department, Judiciary, Police, Hospitals and NGOs
