(Very beginning of song)
It starts out (the violin sound just becoming audible) and you are
faced with a long unoccupied road that is placed right in what looks like the
middle of the desert (plateaus and cactuses are also seen). A few seconds
pass and a car drives down the road and Darren's eyes are visible in the
clouds above at the same moment as he follows his glance after the car.
The inside of the car is shown as the singing starts and you are
faced with a man who looks terribly depressed as he drives. Then he is seen
pulling up to his driveway and getting out, entering the house. (While all
the scenes are shown, it switches off to another scene where Darren is on a
mountain, or plateau, top that reaches the clouds as the wind blows by him
while he is singing. He's in the same outfit as the international Truly Madly
Deeply, black trench coat, black pants and turtleneck. Daniel is seen from
behind playing a guitar with a full orchestra behind him as the wind also
blows by him.)
A scene is shown where the man is leaving a message on his answering
machine, and then he writes something down. (Darren and Daniel are playing
the parts of Angels and are hanging around this guy's house because he is
planning on commiting suicide and they want to stop him) Darren reaches out
to touch his shoulder but he walks away before he can. Darren glances at what
he wrote and looks sadly after him and then at Daniel who is leaning against
the wall.
During the "well it's a long, long way to go," part, you can see the
man pull out a gun from his dresser drawer, caulk it and look angrily in the
mirror at himself. He doesn't see Darren behind him nor does he feel him
place a strong hand on his shoulder. The next few lines are the scene on the
mountain top with D&D.
During that really cool guitar part (before Darren hits the really
high note) they show the man's girlfriend holding him and crying. He had
already killed himself and she was too late. Then, as Darren sings the line
with the high note (but right before he gets to that part) he and Daniel turn
into birds and fly down to her and land next to the man's body. (inside the
house) she backs off in fear as a light shines from the two birds, blinding
the woman's view of her now dead husband. When the light is gone, her husband
is back to life and the birds are gone.
The rest of the video is them comforting one another, and the scene
on the mountain top no longer contains Darren and Daniel, but just the
orchestra.
The End.
