Michiru's Winamp Skins

Being one of the more musically inclined Senshi, as well as one of the more asthetically oriented, I thought I'd put *my* two cents into Tenshi's downloads section. ^_^

The new wave in music is the MP3 format. It is offers CD quality sound in a relatively small file (ok, that's a lie, most MP3s are 3-5 Mb, but compare the quality to the smaller RA files!) transferrable over the internet. While the latest versions of Windows' Media Player can play MP3s, Winamp is still one of the most popular MP3 players. To learn more about the technical stuff, go to the Winamp homepage at http://www.winamp.com. Here, I'm just providing ways of sprucing up the interface. This is what the typical Winamp interface looks like:

Kind of neat, but pretty boring in the end. Well, you can change the way this interface looks by downloading Winamp Skins. Skins are like clothes for the interface. The basic functional buttons stay the same, but the background image, button images, and slider images are different. Here I've put up my collection of Sailormoon themed Winamp Skins. I've only posted 5 because this is REALLY image-heavy as I have included a thumbnail of each skin. I'll be rotating them bi-weekly so you'll be able to see the thumbnails for each skin. For those of you who don't want to wait, here is a TEXT ONLY VIEW which lists *all* the skins.

Ami's Instructions: These skins are *.zip files, meaning that you'll need Winzip to unzip them. If you have Winamp, you should already have a Winamp folder in your hard drive directory. I recommend creating a subdirectory called Skins (for example, mine is C:\Program Files\Winamp\Skins) and downloading the zip files directly into that folder. Well, once you've downloaded the zip file, unzip, and extract the archive into your WinAmp\Skins directory. Most of these should create their own directory, EX C:\Program Files\Winamp\Skins\MoonAmp - Love, automatically, but if not, just create a new folder (within the Skins folder) and move the archive into it. Okay, now to use your skins, open Winamp. Click on the upper left hand corner. This should pull down a menu. From there, choose Options, and then click on Skin Browser. A dialogue box should pop up with a big white empty space containing the word < none >. Click on the Set Skins Directory button and your typical Browse for Folder box should pop up. From here, choose your skins directory (EX C:\Program Files\Winamp\Skins) and click okay. Now you're set!

HOMEPAGE

Ami-chan's eyes looking down kind of sadly

Ami's Opinions: Well, it is hard to tell that those sad-looking eyes belong to me, but they do. The layout is a little awkward because of the display boxes and sliders running over my eyes. Otherwise, it is a nice skin. There is nothing remarkable about it, but there is beauty in simplicity! ^_^

    A cheerful Usagi-chan giving Chibi Usa-chan a friendly squeeze

Usagi's Opinions: Kawaii! This is a really cute skin showing one of the few moments where Chibi Usa and I are *actually* getting along! Again, like Ami-chan said above, the layout is a little awkward because the sliders run over our faces, but the colours help them blend into the background picture (same with the other buttons). Overall, I like it!

This is called The Chibi Dark Blend. It features Black Lady.

Chibi Usa's Opinions: It's a little too busy, and I don't really like the song title display bar running through my head (even if it *is* me as Black Lady). I dunno...I don't really like it, but go with whatever suits you! Afterall, they say that Black Lady is the best villain... ^_^

Rei-chan standing by a cherry blossom tree (which, BTW, are in bloom now here in Vancouver, and they're *so* beautiful! ^_^)

Rei's Opinons: I love this skin. This background image is one of my favourite pictures of myself. The soft colours are well-coordinated and the buttons and sliders are well-positioned. In fact, the volume and balance sliders are invisible so as not to mar my perfect features. ^_^ This is the perfect skin for the spring. It also goes great with easy-listening, soft rock, and pop songs.

A hauntingly sad image of Hotaru-chan.

Hotaru's Opinions: Despite the bars running through my eyes, (that we seem to be harping on) I really like this skin. Yes, it's not the happiest image, but it is beautiful. The colour scheme was really nicely done. I particularly like the song slider! (it's the head of my glaive! how original is that? ^_^ )

I got these skins either on the Winamp homepage, Kezzerdrix's homepage, or Lefhark's hompage. If you are: a)really upset about this, b) wanting more credit, or c) just have something to say, then please e-mail me.
