The Six Heroes

Parn's got dark black/brown hair and blue-violet eyes.
Parn

Parn's an extremely emotional young man who plays the main hero of the anime. He basically hangs around fighting for Lodoss' freedom and trying to regain his deceased father's honor. Parn's almost always absorbed with his plans, but he gets around to liking Deedlit after awhile (she's the one who's been admiring him from the beginning). Parn also has this thing where he makes Kashue his idol, almost to the point where he worships him. He goes around everywhere in the armor that his father left him when he was young. He's a bit hot-headed, but all in all he's efficient.

Deedlit

Deedlit (oftentimes "Deed") is the High-elf who ends up joining Parn on his journey for lack of anything better to do. Deedlit develops a crush of sorts on Parn and is one of his main protectors. At least, until he gets a bit better at sword fighting. Throughout the anime Deedlit calls upon the elemental spirits Sylph (the element spirit of air) and Undine (the element spirit of water) to help protect herself and her six traveling companions. She provides excellent magical protection and plays back-up for Slayn's magical defense. Deedlit's extremely intelligent, and is also pretty handy with a sword.

Deedlit has waist-length blonde hair, green eyes and long pointy elf-ears. She looks to be fairly young, but since she's immortal she prolly ages a bit more slowly than normal folk

Ghim looks pretty old and has short white hair, a mustache and a beard.
Ghim

Ghim is the dwarf who joins the heroes on their crusade. Meanwhile, he's on his own journey to find Leylia, Neese's daughter. Ghim's also got this grudge against Deedlit, but it's mainly because he's a dwarf and she's an elf (they don't get along). But when it comes down to it he'll save her life as willingly as he'll save anyone else's. Ghim often uses his skills and knowledge as a dwarf to lead the heroes and to help them avoid nasty situations and traps whenever they travel through dwarf-built areas.

Etoh

Etoh's a clergyman for the goddess Marfa. He plays healer most of the time and uses his spiritual divinity to heal people (with Marfa's help). Etoh is extremely peaceful and doesn't like having to fight (he'd rather be helping people). He and Parn are from the same village and grew up knowing each other.

Etoh has short black hair and brown eyes. He's looks a bit like a chubby bear.

Slayn's kinda angular and has thinning blond hair. He's the tallest of the six.
Slayn

Slayn is the sorcerer of the group. With his power he protects the six from all sorts of nasty things (usually Karla). Slayn's also one of the more peaceful people in the group. He generally goes with Etoh and focuses on helping people and keeping them safe. But he can definitely hold his own in a fight (hey, he's got a staff and a ton of magic handy). However, his magic can wane and his energy can be exhausted if he focuses on using too much of his magic or if he faces an enemy with magic stronger than his. As the story goes along he and Leylia (in her un-possessed form) begin to feel something towards each other.

Woodchuck

Woodchuck (called "Wood" by everyone) is a thief who Parn met in prison. Wood is kinda sneaky and a bit of a coward, but he sticks with his friends (even if he is kinda screwy). He's got an extreme affliction for everything that shimmers, which gets him into trouble sometimes. Wood can hold his own in battle and has saved a few lives more than once.

Wood looks kinda shaggy, with a permanent five o'clock shadow. He's got scars on his face and arms (from all those stray daggers that come his way during shooting practice, no doubt), and has dark black hair and brown eyes.

The Original Six Heroes

Fahn's pretty old, but he's muscular and tall with white hair and blue eyes. King Fahn

King Fahn is the knight (in shining white armor) that led a group of six to fight for Lodoss' freedom (sounds familiar, doesn't it?). He's the King of Valis (a country on the island of Lodoss), and is one of the main people standing between Beld and the rest of Lodoss. Fahn sort of "adopts" Parn and helps him as much as he can with his mission. During the story the battle between Fahn and Beld constitutes as one of the major battles between light and darkness. Fahn wields the holy sword.

Wort

Wort is the sage of Moss. He's a sorcerer and is known to be extremely wise. He's the one that knows the most about Karla since he was with her when he originally fought for Lodoss' freedom.

Wort's extremely old, but time has only added to his knowledge. His magical prowess is still higher than that of most.

 Karla

Karla's one of the main bad guys of the story. She's always trying to keep the balance of Lodoss equal, so when it sways one way she sides with the losing party to bring it back up again. Only thing is, she's been alive so long that she's mentally imbalanced (being alive for 500 years is a bit much), so she really doesn't know what's good for Lodoss anymore. She was one of the original six heroes and is known as the mysterious Gray Witch, a warrior of magic and light from the Kingdom of Sorcery.

Because Karla has been alive so long, she doesn't have her own human form. So, she just assumes a host. Also, she believes that all humans are pawns for her disposal, so if the person dies once she leaves their body she doesn't care. She also doesn't care if their soul is lost forever (she's kinda heartless). So, without a body, her soul lives in a tiara that flings itself onto the person that it wants to have as its host.

Emperor Beld

Beld is the Emperor of Marmo (an island to the south of Lodoss). He was a great knight (a good-guy like Fahn), but his heart was stolen during the conquest of a Demon. So, he turned evil. He originally starts out trying to take control of all Lodoss, and ends up having to fight Fahn. All of this is controversial for the two because they used to fight on the same side. Beld also rules the Demon Sword (the evil equivalent of Fahn's sword), Soul Crusher.

Beld has raggedy red hair and dark skin. He looks to be kinda stocky but he's pretty muscular.

Fleve

Fleve is another one of the original heroes. He doesn't really play a part in the story (mainly coz we never MEET him), but he's part of the legend so I put him in anyway. Fleve was a dwarf, and the final ruler of the Kingdom of Stone.

Neese

Neese was a priestess of Marfa who came along with the original six heroes to lend her help. Later on in the story her daughter, Leylia is kidnapped. So, Ghim (who's taken a particular liking to Neese and loves Leylia like a daughter), sets out to find her. Anyway, Neese lends her help to the six heroes whenever she can.

Others

 King Kashue Arnague (the first)

Kashue is the first king of Flaim (the desert kingdom). He was a wandering mercenary who still goes around helping whoever's in need. He's extremely skilled in sword-fighting and leads the armies of the free countries of Lodoss when Fahn dies. Parn's party is usually with Kashue during battles and excavations.

Ashram

Ashram is kinda like a dark knight. He's Beld's best warrior and one of the most influential people that Beld listens to. After Beld dies, Ashram takes the Demon Sword and leads the forces of Marmo with it. He continues Beld's ideal to unite Lodoss by conquering the island.

 Pirotess

Pirotess is a dark elf, something like the evil equivalent of Deedlit. She's Ashram's right-hand man.. er.. woman.. er.. elf. She and Ashram together have the same importance as Deedlit and Parn as far as love goes (they're like the evil counterpart to Deed and Parn ^_^). She and Ashram sacrifice themselves for each other several times throughout the anime.

Wagnard

Wagnard is one of the major bad guys of the anime. He's an evil sorcerer who decides that he'll be the supreme being by unleashing the Goddess Kardis. He's a disgustingly ugly jerk who thinks that he's the most powerful sorcerer, so he can take advantage of people's lives, etc. whenever he likes. He's almost like Karla but waaaay more evil.

Orsen and Shiris

Orsen and Shiris are wandering mercenaries who go around protecting villages in return for money. Only bad thing is that Orsen is a beserker (a person possessed by the god Hyuuri). When he sees anyone he cares about in danger (mainly Shiris), he goes kinda crazy, and she's the only one who can stop him.

Shiris is the other, redder half of the group. She's got a bit of a crush on Parn, and doesn't like sticking her neck out when she thinks that she's going to lose (Orsen on the other hand supports Parn's ideas because Parn's one of his friends). Throughout the story they help the heroes with their mission.
