 MANGA / ANIME SERIES SIMILAR TO AMG
 -----------------------------------

  The concept of a main male/female character meeting a  female/male partner
of his/her dreams through some bizzare occurence isn't new. Here's a list of
anime/manga with themes similar to AMG's:


Shonen (Male market) :

(1)	title: Video Girl Ai
	manga artist: Masakazu Katsura

	The video girl series is very large, and well-established. It isn't
	centered around any particular character, with its multiple stories.
	There's an anime series, a manga series and a novel series.

	story: boys/girls rent a video. Out comes a video girl to solve
	       his/her particular problem, i.e. boy who is lonely or girl
	       who was dumped. The video girl solves the problem, but must
	       always leave her benefactor and return into her videocassette
	       in the end. Those video girls have sorry existences.


(2)	title: Saber Marionette

	This is a very well-known series. There are a lot of components:
	manga, anime, console games, radio dramas, novels, role-playing
	sets...

	story: there are no females on Terra-2. Instead, people construct
	android women to do menial jobs. One day a young man awakens an 
	android with a real maidenly heart...



Bishoujo (Female market) :

(1)	title: 出典：まもって守護月天！
	creator / manga artist: Minene Sakurano
	first published: January 1987

	(I'm a little bit confused here, but this is what the book says:)
	First published in Japan in 1997 by ENIX CORPORATION, Tokyo.

	This is a pleasant series with a boy meeting his (very belldandy-
	like) guardian goddess via an old chinese artifact. (She's an
	active version of Belldandy). Soon another goddess (a rival) comes
	along via another Chinese artifact. (Her personality resembles
	Peorth / Urd).


(2)	title: ???
	creator / manga artist: Yuu Watase

	Girl taps nonsense into her new electronic diary (The word 'EPTRANS'
	in fact). Out comes the spirit of the e-diary, who can change the
	physical appearances of his mistress at will.



  I have personally seen/read all those listed. Personally, I like all of
them very much. Perhaps you should give them a try too! And oh, do mail me
if you can find some other AMG-like Anime/Manga series.
