Conclusions Reached About The AMG OAV
General
The storyline about Keiichi and Belldandy meeting as kids did
take place in the manga, as seen in the AMG Drama CD released long
before the OAV.
Contrary to popular belief, Odin is not Kami-sama. In chapter
14, Urd borrowed the 'leader of the Aesir and Vanir's' 8-legged horse,
Sleipnir; indicating Odin's rank as something of a heavenly lord -
not Kami-sama.
OAV 1
1st Scene Belldandy is floating down the well of fate which
feeds Yggdrasil's roots
2nd Scene Keiichi woke up from a vision of Belldandy, the
first one of many others, the stirring of his lost memories.
The granting of Keiichi's wish by Belldandy was pre-planned by
both Kami-sama and Belldandy. Kami-sama did not want to break rules
he set down, such as the case between chibi-Belldandy and Keiichi,
so Kami-sama was testing Keiichi's love from OAV 1-5. When Kami-sama
finally allowed her to remain with him, Keiichi recovered his lost
memories.
Belldandy greeted Keiichi with Mushi-mushi: hello- rather than
the usual Hajimemashite: First time we meet- , indicating that she
still remembers Keiichi from their last meeting.
When Keiichi gave a hot canned-drink to Belldandy, Belldandy was
visibly taken by surprise. This indicates the significance of gifts
in Asgard/Midgard. The can can later be seen in her room.
The two passengers on the car which very nearly crashed into
Keiichi's BMW are no other than Nakajima and Futaba Aoi from Kosuke
Fujishima's other series: Taihoshichauzo.
Keiichi visited Nekomi as a child while on holiday. He has an
uncle there, and they stayed near the old temple where a festival
was taking place during that summer for a week.
After Belldandy restored the temple, she indicated that she was
aware of it's significance. However, she did not know that the
old cherry-blossom tree's seal was breaking, due to the power of the
emotions between Keiichi and her.
Part of the reason why Belldandy used very little of her true
powers was because she didn't wanted Keiichi to interact with her in
as easier manner. Using her powers would surely frighten any sensible
mortal.
OAV 3
1st Scene Skuld is Yggdrasil's system debugger, using her
hammer to delete bugs.
- (See AMGeology)
Though the goddesses may eat to sustain their magical powers
when Yggdrasil is off-line, or for pleasure; they don't eat for nutrition.
Belldandy is usually only seen serving food and drinks, not eating any.
This makes it difficult to tell whether she is a vegetarian. However,
the scene showing her baking cake with eggs suggests that she isn't really
sure of the eggs' origins- as she is not likely to eat meat if she knows
that it means killing an animal or two.
OAV 4
Belldandy was immediately by Keiichi's side when he was having
a nightmare. The goddesses don't seem to need sleep, except for Belldandy
when she over-taxes her restrained powers. This is also evident in OAV 5,
with Urd and Belldandy perfectly awake long after midnight, and in OAV 3,
where Urd is still watching television, Skuld is still wandering around,
and Belldandy is still fetching tea when Megumi is fast asleep.
OAV 5
The OAV story ended somewhere before chapter 77 of the manga, where
Belldandy tells Chihiro of her two rings. The OAV affected the manga
storyline right after it was released though.
