Incredible Journey

Kurama couldn't believe it. He said yes. That adorable little fire demon said yes! And today they were going to announce it formally to their friends. Kurama was glowing as he and Hiei walked hand in hand to Genkai's temple.

" Yo, runt! Kurama! What's…" Kuwabara stopped short when he saw that his friends were holding hands.

" Hiei-san!" called Yukina, " You're here! Oh, Kurama-san…" she started as she too noticed that the two boys were holding hands.

Kurama's smile widened, if it was possible. Hiei looked like he was ready to run and hide, he was so embarrassed. Who would have guessed that the hot-tempered little demon could be so shy?

The party moved inside the temple, and they all sat down around the table to eat. Toward the end of dinner, Kurama tried to get everyone's attention.

" Shut up!" growled Hiei. " Kurama is trying to talk!"

This caused everyone in the room to fall silent. All eyes fell expectantly on Kurama.

" I, I've fallen in love, and I proposed to my loved one, and he accepted."

The group all cheered and started to prod asking questions about who the luck lady was until, Yukina spoke.

" Congratulations Kurama-san, Hiei-san. I know you'll be very happy together!"

Kuwabara and Yuusuke look at Yukina in shock, thinking she must be mistaken.

" Arigato, Yukina-chan. You're blessings mean a lot to Hiei, and me" replied Kurama, oblivious to the looks the others were giving him.

" You and the runt?" asked Kuwabara.

Hiei looked ready to kill at that remark, but a hand on his shoulder from Kurama helped keep his temper in check.

" Yeah, me and Kurama you over grown monkey. You got a problem with it?"

" Who you calling a monkey…"

Before the fight could progress Yukina intervened.

" Hiei, I… are we invited to the wedding?"

Hiei smiled at his sister," Of course you are, ne-chan…"

" Do remember when you two first met?" asked Yuusuke.

" Yeah… it seems like so long ago…" started Kurama.

Music fades in

We were strangers starting out on a journey…

*Kurama and Hiei's first meeting. They are discussing plans to steal the three treasures. *

Never dreaming what we'd have to go through

*Kurama fighting Karasu at the tournament, while Hiei looks on in agony seeing his best friend hurt.*

Now here we are and we're suddenly standing

*Kurama and Hiei holding hands at the table while talking to their friends*

At the beginning again

*Kurama and Hiei in Kurama's room lying in bed together*

No one told me I was going to find you

*Hiei looking into Kurama's eyes and you can see the look of shock and love that passes over his face as he realizes that he is in love with Kurama*

Unexpected what you did to my heart

*Kurama promising himself to Hiei forever, something his old Youko spirit never would have done*

When I lost hope, you were there to remind me

*Kurama upset, thinking that Shiori would reject the real him, and Hiei holding his hand sportingly as he tells his mom*

This is the start

*Kurama and Hiei kissing deeply at the temple*

Life is a road and I wanna keep going

*Kurama, Hiei, and the rest of the gang sitting around talking*

Love is a river I wanna keep flowing

*Kurama and Hiei locked in a passionate embrace*

Life is a road now and forever

*The boys all laughing and enjoying themselves at a party*

Wonderful journey

*The boys all fighting together*

I'll be there when the world stops turning

*Kurama giving Hiei a perfect rose as a symbol of his love*

I'll be there when the storm is through

*Kurama catching Hiei as he falls into the room. Kurama takes care of him while he's hurt*

In the end I wanna be standing at the beginning

*Everyone talking at the table and remineceing after the announcement of the wedding*

Music fades…

" We really have come a long way, haven't we?" said Yuusuke in an airy voice.

" Yeah, we have. And we're still together," laughed Kurama.

" Koenma-sama picked a good team," observed Yukina.

" Not just a team, a family for life," Hiei says softly.

Kurama takes Hiei's face in his hands and kisses him.

"Yes, family for life," everyone agreed.
