General Background: Paul Gilmoure's childhood was an odd one. He really has

doesn't know where he and his twin brother Peter spent most of there time

growing up all he remembers is that he spent a lot of time in space on military

transports and that he didn't meet his two older siblings in person till he was

four. When they had Christmas holiday at GG HQ on earth before being sent

to join the other siblings at a prestigious boarding school.

Peter & Paul became known as the wonder twins because they excelled at school.

They started school in 6th grade at 6 then moved on to 10th at 9 and graduated

at 11. His mother got a job as a professor in Pennsylvania; shortly there after

his father Jakob came to join them.

However their father thought their physical education was neglected and made

sure they where thoroughly trained by him in the martial arts and survival

techniques. Which was a mistake. The resentment that developed in the twins grew

to the point where they and their father one day got into a physical

altercation.

The day had started as usual at 5:00am with a 10Km run in the freezing morning

air followed by calisthenics for an hour then breakfast but this morning their

father said there would be no breakfast because Paul was being lazy and there

would be no meals or breaks till Paul caught up. Paul decided he had enough and

said no and locked his eyes on his fathers'.

Jakob noticed the fire in his son's eyes and asked his son if he thought he

could take him. Paul nodded and dropped into his fighting stance. Before Peter

could utter a word of protest the contest had begun.

Paul made the first move. He threw a jab at his father, which missed by a mile.

Jakob ducked easily out of the way and countered with a knee to Paul's stomach

sending him backwards. The blow knocked the wind out of him but Paul recovered

quickly and in the same motion as his falling back twisted his body and kicked

his father under his left rib. A sound as if a muffled board cracking was heard.

Paul landed and quickly resumed a fighting stance with a look of victory on his

face. He was determined to best his father that day. He let his instincts guide

him. He skillfully combated his father but as the match wore on he realized he

was a match for his father in skill now it would be experience versus ingenuity.

Ingenuity was winning.

It took all of Jakob's concentration to keep up with his son. He was a little

surprised by Paul's speed. He knew his son was holding out on him but he didn't

realize how much. Jakob admired how fluidly his son moved, improvising maneuvers

in his attacks, exchanging a blow for a counter. "The boy is as good as me. He

moves like a master. It appears I trained him better than I thought." Jakob

thought to himself. "I'll have to watch it or I'm done." But Jakob didn't have

to worry long.

A booming voice called out. "PAUL, we're leaving come." Paul kept his eyes

locked on his father face as he turned his head to look at Peter. He saw the

color drain from his face. Paul realized that the fight had just gone out of his

father. Now is when he would win. He moved towards his father preparing for the

final attack. He could taste the tang of blood in his mouth. He spat it out and

said. " I'm not going anywhere just yet. I'm not finished with him yet."

Paul saw his fathers eyes dart from look at Peter to looking at him in surprise.

At least that is what Paul thought at first but then his father disappeared to

be replaced by the penetrating stare of his brother. "Yes, you are." A sharp

pain and Paul was doubled over looking at his brother's shoes suddenly aware of

all his injuries.

Paul stood there a moment gathering his breath wondering how his brother could betray

him. He leaned on his brother as he straightened up. "Why, Juelo? (Oxmodias* for

brother) I had him." His brothers' visage softened for a moment as they looked

each other in the eye as if Peter were going to say "I'm sorry." Peter pointed

towards their home "Now, go."

As Paul marched slowly to the house he looked back to see his brother and father

talking. The exchange was brief but he could hear his brother say as he started

towards the house "Oh and one more thing. Paul was right you did have this

coming for a long time." Before leaving Jakob, alone in the cold to watch both his sons walk towards the house. Snow began to fall. Paul wished his father would get lost in a white out and freeze to death.

Later Peter came to Paul's room and told him his plan. Peter arranged for Paul to move in with their brother Mikal and himself to move in with his sister Jaqie's family. While Peter continued his education focusing on his technological expertise Paul continued his education in the martial arts. He had mastered three styles and began learning a fourth when Galaxy Garrison recruited his brother. When Paul heard that his brother

was joining Galaxy Garrison he signed up as well under the buddy program so that they would go through boot camp together

To celebrate him and Peter joining Galaxy Garrison their sister Jaqie arranged a

family camping vacation before they left for boot camp. Everyone came Jaqie,

Jaqie's Husband Jibri (pronounced Juh-brE), their 6yr old son Gregory, and their

mother Sharyl. Ok, everyone except their father.

Their mother tried to pass off their fathers' absence as him being called away for duty. However Paul had his own suspicions of why his father wasn't with them.

The camping trip was a wonderful experience. On the first day everyone got a

good laugh watching Jibri try to put together the tents for 3 hours. Once

accidentally getting an expanding rod somehow stuck through his shirtsleeve to

sleeve. The second day all the guys went fishing. Gregory showed them all up by

bringing in not only 4 fish himself but also a whopping size 15 wading boot.

On the third night things got well out of hand. Jaqie and Jibri retired to their

tent early. Sharyl sat looking up at the stars. Paul went to get some more firewood leaving Peter to write a letter in his tent to his friend Carmily Santos. Whom Paul was starting to suspect meant more to his brother then Peter was saying. Gregory was somewhere where exactly he didn't know and neither did anyone else except a predator on the hunt that night.

Paul returned with the firewood only to see his mother sitting by the fire

watching the stars. She looked over at him and asked him where Greg was. This

surprised Paul he hadn't seen Greg in an hour when he left he assumed he was at

the camp. His mother told him that Greg took off after him just after he left. Paul dropped the wood where he stood and ran to the tent he and his brother shared. Paul huffed "Is Greg in here?" Peter immediately dropped the pad and ran out of the tent. And began yelling with his brother "Gregory! Gregory!!"

The yelling stirred Jaqie and Jibri. They quickly dressed and ran out of the their tent. "Where's our son?"

"Greg wondered away." Sharyl said not mentioning that he went after his uncle.

This gesture was unnecessary cause Paul was too worried about his nephew to be

concerned about blame.

Paul blurted out "He apparently tried following me but I didn't know he was behind me. I never would have let him out of my sight if I'd known."

Jaqie replied, "It's not your fault. Lets go looking for him. We'll form small

groups me, and Paul, and Peter your with Jibri. Mom you stay here in case he

comes back."

Peter snapped his fingers. "Everybody grab a flare gun that way whoever can

signal that they have found Greg. Oh wait there is only three. "All right one for mom, one for Jibri and one for Paul. Paul lead the way."

They followed Paul into the woods to where he left the trail. Right there they

choose for Paul to back track the way he went with Jibri, Jaqie to continue up the trail and for Peter to follow what appeared to be set of tracks that seemed the right size for Greg.

Paul walked quietly beside Jibri while they where back tracking his steps. However all the while he was silently cursing himself for being so inattentive. "This isn't your fault Paul." recoiling as Jibri touched his shoulder.

"Don't tell me it's not my fault. Greg was following me, and I didn't even know. Now he's lost out here somewhere and if he is hurt it's because I wasn't there."

Jibri drew himself to his full height switching to his authoritarian mode. "Listen here. Greg never would have gotten lost if you knew he was behind you but you didn't know did you? You should know by now Greg does what he wants. The only way he could have been stopped from following you would be to hogtie him, but I sincerely doubt even that would be much of a deterrent."

Paul chuckled hearing that. "Actually after what I taught him last month it would only be an annoyance."

Jibri pictured such a situation for a moment and smiled. "I know you love Greg as if he were your own son. However there is something you need to learn about children." Jibri looked Paul in his eyes. "No matter how much you wish you could, you can't protect children from themselves. They are their own persons. They make their own choices and they must face their own repercussions. You can only hope to guide them to the right choices and hope they make that decision."

Paul was about to respond when a red nova caught Paul's eye. "Look!" He pointed into the sky at the red star. "Mom's flare." They nearly collapsed when they arrived at camp at full gallop. Paul dropped to his knees and slid in front of his nephew who was sitting wrapped up in  blanket by the fire surprising him. Paul picked him up and hugged him tightly.

"Uncle Paul, let go I can't breath." Paul immediately put him down and visually examined him. Checking him from head to toe for injuries. "I'm all right. All I got was a cut" he lifted his sleeve to show him a bandage on his right arm.

"How did you get back here?" Jibri asked.

"Uncle Pete and Pop Pop found Me." answered Gregory

"Pop Pop?" Jaqie said as she came into earshot. As if summoned Jakob emerged from Sharyl's tent.

"Hello Paul, Jibri, Jaqie." Bowing his head slightly to each of them.

"Where's Peter?" Paul asked.

Jakob replied "In his tent. Your mother is dressing his wounds."

"Wounds? What happened?" Paul commanded. Gregory got his second wind and regaled his entire adventure. Gregory picked up a twig and started acting out the fight between Peter and what he called a saber-toothed tiger. Greg sliced the air several times then finished with a familiar flick of the wrist; which Paul and Jakob both recognized to stab the imaginary creature.

Sharyl emerged from the twins' tent to see the remainder of her family watching Gregory's play. Paul walked over to his mother. "How is he?"

"He's fine. The lion clawed him twice but the wounds are superficial." She lifted curtain and Paul saw Peters bandage on his back. Just as the shirt covered it he pulled over his head.

On the way into town Peter and Paul rode with their father in his transport.

"Paul do you see that box behind your seat. I got something for you and Peter inside." Paul reached behind the seat and opened the box inside were two meter long black rectangular tubes and two backpacks. Paul grabbed a tube and pulled on the end of it. Out came a black blade.

"Swords?!!" The twins said in unison.

"Yep, A little something I got some friends in R&D to make for you. If you notice the blades aren't metal but a ceramic polymer twice as strong as cobalt steel. Capable of withstanding level 3 laser fire though I wouldn't suggest you test that out and it'll never rust." Jakob looked back at his sons their faces lit up like it was Christmas day. "The bags are designed to hold the scabbards in place. Inside are general orders allowing you to take them anywhere in the alliance."

The twins thanked their father for their gifts. It was dawn by the time they got to town. The fourth day they enjoyed giggles at the name of Peter's doctor L.P.

McQuack as he stitched him up and asking him if he knew a Drake Mallard.

Two weeks later Paul left for boot camp one month later Peter joined him. Paul exceeded his expectations and was promoted to lance corporal after only four weeks. He score remarkably high in many areas of train and even set a record for marksmanship. Upon completion of boot camp he was promoted to sergeant and placed in a now defunct SEAL unit for a six months in which he participated in several missions until his unit was terminated and he was placed in a infantry unit as a squad commander until his "disappearance". It was during this command that he met the love of his life Lt. Alexa Garcia a JAG officer.

Their relationship was kismet. It was a bright glorious union that everyone on base thought would last forever. Paul even refused a promotion to lieutenant because it meant him taking a post far from Alexa. However fate conspired against them. GG Intelligence conscripted Paul for an undercover mission, which unfortunately for Paul & Alexa has lasted nearly a year. Paul is even unaware of the birth of his daughter fore when he left Alexa was two months pregnant and hadn't revealed it to him before he left.

Personality: Paul unlike his twin Peter is rather extroverted. He is energetic and personable though sometimes arrogant. He often has almost manic mood swings when personal problems. He can go from being a happy friendly person one moment to a spitefully violent person the next but thanks to his love of Alexa his mood swings are more balanced and no longer extreme. Getting back to Alexa is his only goal.

Paul too inherited his fathers' furious temper. Unlike Peter, Paul uses his rage and focuses it as a tool in combat to strengthen his attacks and while undercover to maintain his persona.

Paul is a natural leader. He inspires trust and respect in all those whom have served with him. Paul shares a dry wit with his brother but unlike Peter he shares it in a jovial manner so others not just himself enjoy the joke.
