Serena couldn't help but thinking that no matter what she did, that her mother and father would eventually find out about her test grade, and then her mother would yell at her and make her go to the library to study with Melvin, and she would at this rate probably be grounded forever and never be able to do anything except study at home or at the library. Tears welled up in her eyes, making it difficult to see, and on impluse, she began to run. Suddenly, it felt as if a truck had run into her! Ouch! Well, not a truck, Serena had run into the lamppost across the street.
Feeling quite dizzy with her head feeling as if little birds were spinning around her in orbit, she felt even more mortified than ever as she noticed that Darien was down at the end of the sidewalk, and had noticed her collision.
