Sailor Moon episode 40

"This is Scout business, Luna!"

"So, we're finally gonna meet Beryl!" Raye said that night. All the girls and the cats had met at the Cherry Hill Temple in the middle of the night.

"Are you guys ready?" Mina asked. Lita cracked her knuckles.

"Yeah, can't wait!"

"This is going to be our toughest fight ever!" Amy said. Serena asked Raye if she had kissed Chad good-bye. Raye was not laughing. Luna and Artemis came to them.

"Well," Artemis said, "are you girls ready? This'll be a rough one."

"But we know you can do it." Luna said. Serena looked at the cat, and said,

"Yeah, we've trained enough! Moon Prism Power!" The other girls followed Serena's lead.

"MERCURY POWER!!!!"

"MARS POWER!!"

"JUPITER POWER!!!"

"VENUS POWER!!!"

"SCOUT POWER!!!!!!"

The girls began to transform. While they were, Luna asked Artemis if the girls were ready.

"Amy, Mina, Lita, Raye? No problem!! Serena? That's another story."

"But they're going against Queen Beryl of the Negaverse! Serena has to be ready!"

"Well," Artemis replied, "if worst comes to worst, maybe she'll have a klutz attack and trip Queen Beryl!"

The girls completed their transformation, and stood in a circle. Artemis and Luna believed in the most powerful fighting force in the world. The Sailor Scouts. They got in a circle, and invoked their teleporting power.

"Scout power..." The sheer force of the teleport pulled up some of the stones that made the path to Raye's temple. The Sailor Scouts disappeared.

"Maybe we belong someplace warmer, like Tahiti?" Sailor Moon said, shivering. The teleport had been designed to bring the Sailor Scouts close to their destination, yet far enough away so as not to cause a disturbance. The Sailor Scouts had gone to the base of Queen Beryl, and it was located in the Arctic. Cold winds blew all around them, and Mercury was already using her computer to scan the area. She had a read out of where the base was, and looked in the distance. It was a large volcano that barely came out of the ground. The Sailor Scouts headed for it.

The darkness was very consuming this time, and there was a light of goodness invading. Beryl wanted to know what the source was, and looked into her crystal ball. It revealed the form of five young girls. The Sailor Scouts.

"So, the Sailor Scouts are going to pay us a visit. It's about time." She stood up, and addressed her court.

"Who wants to greet our guests, and earn a place in Nega-history?" She said. A group of young women volunteered. They were called the Doom and Gloom Girls. They were to greet Beryl's upcoming guests. Their bodies were much like a human's, with the addition of dragonfly wings.

Mercury stopped. The other Sailor Scouts stopped as well, and Mercury had a reading. It was some sort of life form. Then, the winds around them stopped, and the Sailor Scouts looked around. In the distance, a form appeared. It was Tuxedo Mask. He was hanging by chains, and his cape was torn. Sailor Moon went to help him, and the Sailor Scouts stopped her.

"No, Sailor Moon, it's probably a trap!" Mercury said. Sailor Moon gave up her run. Tuxedo Mask spoke weakly.

"Princess, help me be free again."

Sailor Moon broke free, and went to help Tuxedo Mask. She ran to him, and was tackled by all the Sailor Scouts, except Sailor Mercury, who was still analyzing her readings. Tuxedo Mask laughed, and his eyes glowed red. In the meantime, Sailor Mercury's visor showed erratic readings, and surprised her. Mercury yelled out that it was a trap. Large tendrils flew out of Tuxedo Mask's chest, and missed the Sailor Scouts by a hair. Tuxedo Mask transformed into a Doom and Gloom girl. She was colored light blue. She laughed.

"So you think that's funny, do ya!!" Sailor Moon screamed, "well, go ahead and yuk it up! I'm tired of putting up with Nega Trash, and that means you!"

The Doom and Gloom girl seemed to produce the rest of the team behind her.

"Hey, Jupiter!" One of the girls said, "someone here would like to chat with you!"

The Doom and Glooms disappeared, revealing a new figure. He too, was hanging by chains, and Jupiter shouted out,

"Hey, that's Andrew!"

Andrew looked up weakly, and suddenly smiled with evil. His eyes glowed, and he laughed. Without warning, tendrils came up from the ground, trapping Jupiter. She was wrapped in the tendrils tightly, and rose into the air. More tendrils flew out of Andrew, and Jupiter was lifted very high off the ground. Sailor Jupiter was trapped.

"MOON TIARA..."

"MARS FIRE..."

Before Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars could complete the call for their attacks, the Doom and Gloom Girls all surrounded Jupiter, and moved in to a very close range. Mars called out to her friend.

"Jupiter! We'll get you out of this, so help me!"

"Thanks!" Jupiter called back, "but you guys gotta find Beryl! Don't worry, I'll trash these Nega-Creeps!"

Jupiter, trapped, did her best to get rid of the Doom and Gloom Girls.

"JUPITER...THUNDER...CRASH!!!"

The forces of Jupiter came down for the last time. The thunder hit the Doom and Gloom girls, and they were all sent flying. The explosion in the air hit the ground with an unbelievable force, and from the explosion, large spiky tower of ice was formed. Its edges jutted out around it. It had a sharp summit, and looked cold and dead. The Sailor Scouts heard Lita's spirit, as she left for the "other side" and said,

"Hang in there guys, I'm with ya!"

Sailor Jupiter was gone.

The blue Doom and Gloom Girl came out, and said,

"Who's next?!"

Sailor Moon was angry. She was about to charge the monster, and was stopped. She said to Mercury that they had to give the crystal to the Negaverse. It wasn't worth it.

"Jupiter wouldn't want that!" Mars said. Suddenly, Mercury got more readings on her visor. She looked over, and as the Sailor Scouts went to see what it was, Mercury stopped them. She told them to keep heading for the Volcano, and she would stay behind and check it out.

"Don't worry, I'll be careful, Okay?" Sailor Moon objected, saying that it wasn't safe.

"Nobody said this was going to be safe."

The Sailor Scouts left their friend. Mercury looked out into the distance. In the distance, a form appeared. A form the Amy had grown to love, and cherish.

"Greg!? It can't be! It's got to be an illusion!"

Mercury thought to scan the form, and used her visor. It showed that Greg was a Doom and Gloom girl in disguise, then, the view through her visor malfunctioned. She shut off her visor, and saw a huge river of lava shoot out of the ground. She remained calm.

"MERCURY BUBBLES BLAST!!!"

The huge mass was frozen. Three of the Doom and Gloom Girls came out of the igneous rock, and flew into the air. They all formed an energy ball of heat. It dove at Mercury, and missed. The magic of the Negaverse was strong, and the ball captured Sailor Mercury.

"I think my scouting days are over." She said.

"Got that right, techno-dweeb!" The Doom and Gloom Girl said. She asked,

"Where did your little friends go?"

"Scared away!" Mercury said. A red Doom and Gloom girl came, captured the Sailor in her tendrils, and said,

"She's lying. No problem, we'll just use this cute little computer to find them!"

The Sailor Scouts continued to walk, and were stopped, when they sensed a telepathic message.

"I'll be with Lita, take care!"

The Doom and Gloom girl blasted Sailor Mercury with strong energy.

Sailor Mercury was gone.

The death of her friend, after so long,was horribly felt, and strongly sensed in Sailor Moon. She sank to her knees under all the loss. They weren't ready.

"Luna didn't train us right!" Sailor Moon said, crying. Mars said,

"That's not true, Sailor Moon!"

Sailor Moon cried, and Sailor Venus noticed something. The ground under Sailor Moon was glowing an eerie red. Venus knew what it was. She dove for Sailor Moon, and pushed her out of the way. Just then, tendrils, like the ones that grabbed Sailor Jupiter, shot out of the ground and grabbed Sailor Venus. They brought her underground. The Doom and Gloom Girls thought that they could get out without a scratch, but were wrong. Dead wrong. Literally. Sailor Venus was being held very close to the face of one of the Doom and Glooms. They made one fatal mistake. Venus' hand was free.

"VENUS CRESCENT BEAM SMASH!!!"

The beam was fired at point blank, and the powers of Venus caused a huge explosion killing the Doom and Gloom girl, and Sailor Venus in the process.

"I believe in you!" Was the message from Mina.

Sailor Venus was gone.

Sailor Moon ran, led by Sailor Mars. She couldn't go on. The loss of her friends had been too great. The loss of one friend was great enough in itself.

"Sailor Moon!" Mars said, "I think you're supposed to face Beryl alone."

"Are you bailing out on me?" Sailor Moon sobbed.

"No, just, these Doom and Gloom Girls are too much for me."

"We'll leave." Sailor Moon said, "come back when we're strong enough to win!"

Sailor Mars saw two Doom and Gloom girls emerge from the ground.

"Time for me to go!" Mars said. She began to go, but Sailor Moon stopped her.

"I don't want you to do this! You don't have to protect me!" She said.

"Yes, I do." Mars said, "Protecting you and the crystal was my destiny, just like being the Moon Princess has always been yours."

Sailor Mars went to fight, saying,

"Gotta teach these sleaze sisters not to mess with fire!"

Mars challenged the final two Doom and Gloom girls. The other three had been killed by the explosions caused by Jupiter and Venus. Mars stood, and got ready.

"MARS FIRE..."

Before she could finish, the Doom and Glooms dove under the ground, and waited. Mars waited for their attack. Suddenly, the ground came up like a giant pair of mandibles, and swallowed Sailor Mars. Sailor Moon could only watch, as the jaws clamped shut, forming a large stone dome. She could see flashes of light, and heard that Mars was blasting the Doom and Glooms. Mars' power became too great, and the stone dome exploded, leaving nothing but a large ice tower. Sailor Moon looked at the wreckage, and heard Raye leave to join Amy, Lita, and Mina, saying,

"See you around, Meatball Head!"

Sailor Mars was gone.

Sailor Moon stood in front of a huge mountain. She thought about her friends. I'll set you all free, I promise!

Beryl was in her new Negaverse base. She saw outside, and looked to see a young warrior. She was on her own. She was weak from the loss of her friends. She was perfect for what Beryl had in store for her.

Sailor Moon was suddenly whisked away by a large energy ball. It took her into a large mountain.

Sailor Moon, for the first time, appeared in the Negaverse. A voice talked to her, and Sailor Moon saw a form in the shadows.

"Sailor Moon, how nice of you to drop in. Welcome to my Negaverse."

"You're Queen Beryl!" Sailor Moon said.

"Yes." Beryl replied, "and you remember Prince Darien?" The lights moved, and revealed a kneeling Prince Darien, kissing Beryl's hand.

"Darien, I want that Imperium Crystal now!" Beryl said to her minion.

"Consider it done, my queen." Darien said. He leapt in the air, and got out his sword. He was about to strike Sailor Moon, but she moved, and Darien missed. Sailor Moon tried what she had done some time ago, to get rid of all the darkness in Darien.

"MOON HEALING ACTIVATION!!!"

The stream of lights that flooded Darien was blinding, but ineffective. Darien sat there, looking at the lights.

"It's no use!" Beryl gloated, "you can't heal him! Not even your Crystal can break the spell I cast! Prince Darien is mine, now and forever!!!"

Darien attacked again. This time, Sailor Moon was unprepared, and was struck to the ground. Over the earth, the sun got hotter...

Sailor Moon was reaching for her wand. She knew she couldn't get it. Beryl looked at the fallen warrior in happiness. She looked at the wand, and said,

"It's mine, as it was meant to be. You managed to keep it from me for a time, but at last, it's mine!" Meanwhile, the Negaforce, which had been quite dormant, felt a drastic and immediate energy increase. Beryl told Darien to get the Imperium Silver Crystal, and to get rid of Sailor Moon.

"I know she's wrong about you, Darien." Sailor Moon said. Her tiara began to glow. "You're not evil." Darien was poised over Sailor Moon. Suddenly, Sailor Moon hit him in the solar plexes with her tiara. The tiara held its place, and Darien fell to the ground. The tiara remained where it was for a second, then fell to the floor. She looked at Darien. Beryl's magic was strong. Darien got up slowly, and raised his sword over his head.

"Good-bye, Sailor Moon!"

"Darien," Sailor Moon said, "she may have your mind, but your heart belongs to me. You remember, don't you?"

"You're the enemy!" Darien said.

"No, I'm not." Sailor Moon replied calmly. Sailor Moon's last desperation move was to do the hardest thing she could've ever done. She got out the star locket that the two had shared together.

"Don't destroy it! Remember!" Pleaded Serena. "It's our locket. The symbol of everything we've shared. All those happy days on the Moon. Don't let her take all of that away from us, please Darien." Darien had heard Sailor Moon's words, and began to realize that Sailor Moon wasn't the enemy. He couldn't strike her with his sword, and Sailor Moon had hope in her eyes.

"It's me, Princess Serena. I've come to set you free, like I promised."

Darien lowered his sword. He remembered. He was Prince Darien of the Earth, not of the Negaverse. All he had to do was touch the locket. He placed his hand on the tiny star, and was flooded with light.

"Traitor!" Beryl screamed, "how dare you!"

Darien fell to his knees, and into the arms of the already kneeling Sailor Moon. He looked at her, and said to her quietly,

"Thank you."

For the first time in a long time, a rose fell to the ground. It was not like the recent ones. This rose was red.

"I'm free." Darien and Sailor Moon hugged. Beryl was disgusted. She created a large stone spike. Something that even Darien could not fight off. Darien created a rose as the spike flew for them, and it split into pieces. The rose plunged into Beryl's body. Her body being torn apart, Beryl melted into the floor, as well as a gesture of retreat. Sailor Moon looked at Darien. He was in her arms, but looked like he was unconscious.

"Oh, Darien, can you hear me?"

Darien looked up to Serena. All he saw was the soul that had set him free. Not Sailor Moon, Serena. He smiled at Serena.

"I'll find a way back to you."

Sailor Moon watched as the rose beside Darien crumbled away. Darien, the love of Serena, was dead.

Beryl was kneeling before the great Negaforce. It said that Beryl was just as useless as her minions, and would give her one last chance. The Negaforce broke out of the giant orange cocoon that it had resided in, and moved to Beryl. The forces of the spirit possessed Beryl. Above ground, Sailor Moon had emerged from the Negaverse. She was walking, angry and unafraid. A giant flower grew from the snowy ground. It was large and purple. The pedals flowered, revealing a giant Queen Beryl. Her skin was a purple hue. She was a hundred times larger than her past form. She chuckled, with all the power.

"Better enjoy that laugh, Beryl, it's the last one you'll ever have." It was Sailor Moon. Beryl simply looked at her tiny target. She fired a bolt of black lightning energy at Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon stood bravely as the bolts hit her, and an ice tower, much like the one that had formed due to the death of Sailor Jupiter, formed. It was sharp, and had many spikes. Sailor Moon was dead. The top of the ice tower was very sharp, and had spiny points on it. Beryl was pleased. Sailor Moon couldn't give up. Perhaps Sailor Moon was dead, but the Moon Princess was still alive...

The summit of the tower burst open, revealing a small young girl. The points that had once made the top of the tower were now flattened out, and spread in a circle. The young girl standing on the summit was Princess Serena. She looked up at Queen Beryl.

"I will defeat you, Beryl. In the name of the Moon!"

"You?!" Beryl said, "Pitiful little Princess Serena?"

In Tokyo, lights that had once shone with intensity went out. The weather got colder.

"Beryl was too much for them. Luna, our Scouts are doomed!" Artemis said to his companion. Luna was crying, and fought to hold back the tears, but couldn't.

"I can't believe we'll never see them again!" She said, "Sailor Moon!" She called out, "You've just got to believe in yourself! Please! Don't let the Negaverse win! Everyone's counting on you!"

(BGM is "Carry on"). Princess Serena stood on top of the ice tower, and heard Luna's words.

"I hear you, Luna." She said, "I am not afraid anymore." Princess Serena raised the Crescent Moon Wand above her, and stars of magic trailed it.

"You should be!" Beryl yelled. She sent a powerful blast of black energy towards the young Princess. Princess Serena invoked the full power of the Moon.

"COSMIC MOON POWER!!!"

The blast that Beryl had started was halted, high above the Princess' head. Princess Serena stood her ground. She would not run away.

"Do not give up, Serena, you can do this!" She told herself. Beryl continued her assault, and Princess Serena stood her ground still.

"I'm not letting you win this one, you witch!" She said, "my friends are counting on me."

She thought of her friends. Then, the spirits of the Sailor Scouts came to her in visions. Amy appeared first.

"Hey, Serena, I'll help you with this assignment if you want!" Amy laughed.

"You are so stubborn, Serena!" Raye said, after Amy disappeared, "let us help, or I'll never speak to you again!"

Lita came to Serena.

"Yeah, let us help you put her away. Still too many guys we gotta meet!" Lita disappeared.

"Let us help." It was Mina. "We haven't known each other long enough for it to end yet!"

Princess Serena asked her friends for help. It was then, that a gloved hand reached to the Crescent Moon Wand, and grabbed hold. Then another, and another. Soon, there were five pairs of hands on the Crescent Moon Wand. Princess Serena, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus.

"MERCURY POWER!!!"

"MARS POWER!!!"

"JUPITER POWER!!!!"

"VENUS POWER!!!"

The powers of the Sailor Scouts augmented the Crescent Moon Wand's capabilities. Princess Serena could literally feel the life forces of her friends, and called out her final attack, to end Beryl's reign of terror.

"COSMIC MOON POWER, UNITE!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Five orbs of power: Blue, pink, red, yellow, and green came together. They all formed a large pink ball of energy. It moved towards Beryl, who was still continuing her assault on the Princess. It completely encompassed her, destroying all traces of Queen Beryl that had ever existed. However, the pink ball didn't stop. It kept growing. It encompassed all of the north pole. It encompassed the grave sites of the Sailor Scouts, and grew, until the Moon, waiting for the night, could see it. The universe was safe again, thanks to the Sailor Scouts.

A young girl's alarm rang to signify that the owner was late for school. She shot out of bed, and downstairs to get ready. She asked why she hadn't been awoken (BGM is "It's a new day").

"Now I'm totally late for school!" She screamed.

"Oh yeah, thanks for lunch mom!"

Luna and Artemis sat on the roof of Serena's house. Artemis was proud. The girls had defeated the evil Queen Beryl, and came back safe. They didn't remember any of it though. Serena passed by a Temple, where a strong girl was sweeping. Mina waited for a bus. Lita passed someone she had known once. Amy had gotten the top score, and was despised by Serena and Molly.

"But what about Serena and Darien?" Luna asked Artemis.

Serena met with a patient who had an accident. She kneeled beside the man, and he said that Serena's hair was funny.

"It looks like a pair of meatballs!!"

"What!? Here I come to cheer you up, and you say my hair looks like meatballs?!!"
