Original American Airdate: 10/2/2000

Original Candian Airdate:

A young couple, Saori the girl, and Kobi the boy, were walking over to Darien's house one day. When they arrived, Darien let them into his apartment, and Saori and Kobi sat on the couch. Darien was in the kitchen pouring coffee, and Saori was amazed at how clean the apartment was, for a guy.

"What are you guys talking about?" Darien said, coming in with a tray of coffee cups.

"Oh, nothing!" Kobi replied, laughing. Darien sat down, and the couple their coffee.

Darien asked Saori if she had finished her paper, and Saori said she did. Kobi was glancing around the room, and Darien asked him what was going on. Kobi asked why Darien had no pictures around his place. Darien asked what he meant.

"What do I mean?!" Kobi exclaimed, leaping into Darien's face. "I mean you told us you've got a girlfriend! Let's see some proof!"

"Some proof?" Darien replied calmly. "I guess I hadn't really thought about it."

"You hadn't thought about it?" Kobi repeate testily.

"Hey, keep your socks on. What's it to you?"

"You don't know?" Kobi said. "I just wonder if she's real. Your girlfriend is coming today, isn't she?"

Before Darien could finish his sentence, the doorbell started ringing over and over. Darien got up and answered the door.

"What was that all about?" Saori hissed at Kobi. "It's none of your business."

"Oh, come on. I was only asking because you're too shy." Kobi replied.

"Excuse me? What are you talking about?"

"I have eyes, Saori." Kobi said, chuckling. "So tell me why all the special lipstick when you see Darien?"

Saori gasped and blushed.

"See? I knew I was right."

Saori glared at Kobi again. "I think you're too nosy and way out of line." She said. The two were alarmed when Serena's voice rang out, and they thought they were caught. Darien walked in, with Rini and Serena dangling off both of his arms. He told them not to be so clingy.

"So go away now, Serena!" Rini said. "You heard Darien, didn't you?"

"Why should I!?" Serena replied.

"Because Darien's all mine, not yours!"

"Just who do you think you are, you bratty little troll!"

Darien and Rini sat down, Rini in Darien's lap. Serena yelled at Rini to get out, but of course, Rini refused. Saori and Kobi watched in disbelief as Serena and Rini fought over Darien. Serena suddenly noticed the two staring at them, and apologized, asking them to forget what just happened. Rini apologized too. Darien introduced Serena and Rini to Saori and Kobi.

"We were waiting to meet Darien's girlfriend." Kobi said. "Do you know her?"

"Of course I do! She's standing right here in front of you!" Serena said. Rini suddenly stuck her fingers up Serena's nose, hurting her.

"I'm his girlfriend, and it's nice to meet you." Rini said.

Serena grabbed Rini by the face, and stretched unproportionally. Rini tickled Serena's feet. The two were at a stand off. As the two tried to stare each other down, Saori started laughing.

"See, it's your fault!" Serena and Rini yelled at each other. Darien yelled at them to settle down. Saori thought they were funny, so she offered them some of the cakes she had brought.

Kobi smiled and looked at Serena. "So, then. You're the girlfriend." He said. Saori felt something inside of her move, but she showed no outward reflection of it. Kobi asked, "How old are you, Serena?"

Serena munched on a cake. "Not that it matters, but I'm old enough to eat all of these cakes!"

"I ask because you act young." Kobi said with a grim look on his face.

"Actually, I'm fifteen!" Serena said through giggles. Kobi thought that fifteen was such a fun age: romance and dreams lie ahead, and there is so much life to live. The trio of Darien, Serena and Rini all devoured their cakes. The crowd shared a laugh to lighten the atmosphere. Suddenly, Rini broke the lightheartedness with a rather straightforward question.

Rini addressed Saori. "So what exactly is the nature of your friendship with Darien?" She asked. Darien, Serena, Saori and Kobi were all shocked by Rini's bluntness.

"We've taken some classes together, and we've known each other since high school." Saori replied calmly. Rini stared at Saori suspiciously. Saori struggled to keep a calm smile. Darien added that Saori also had better grades than he ever did. Saori thought it wasn't true, and Darien went on to explain that Saori was going to become a member of law enforcement. Serena wondered if she was going to become a policewoman, but Kobi said that Saori was going to be the metropolitan police chief. She told him to be quiet, and he saw nothing wrong with what he said, he just thought that Saori needed to cut herself more slack. Serena was impressed with Saori's decision. Rini continued to glare suspiciously at Saori.

Meanwhile, the Amazon Trio was searching for their next target through the pile of pictures on their bar. Tiger's Eye chose a picture of Saori, predictably enough, and knew that while she was good at her schoolwork, she may not know enough about romance.

"So she's just your type." Hawk's Eye said. Tiger's Eye, not catching the implication, kissed Saori's picture, and went on his way.

At a store, Serena had come across a real dilemma - should she buy a blue hippo, or a pink donkey? She had no idea. She was taken with both of them, but only had the money for one.

"What should I do?" Serena asked. "Tell me which one you like better, okay, Rini?"

Rini glared at Serena. "Don't you ever wonder about the way your life is going?" Rini asked. Serena was stopped in her tracks. She asked Rini what she meant. Rini said, "Don't you think deep thoughts, or think about your dull life? Do you think about the future? Have you set any goals? Do you think of those sometimes?"

"Of course I think of those things!" Serena replied. "I'm very deep you know. And, I like to make very grown up choices - The blue hippo, or the pink donkey. I have to make decisions like that all the time. I guess it's part of growing up. Hey!" Rini was leaving. She pointed at Serena and announced that she hated both of the little stuffed animals.

"What?!" Serena said. "You have no taste! How can anyone not like these faces?"

"I have no taste?" Rini replied. "It's Darien's taste I'm questioning."

"Oh, who needs her when I have you guys?" Serena said to the animals.

Meanwhile, Saori was waiting on the street for someone to arrive. Tiger's Eye peered at her from around the corner of a truck. The truck drove away, leaving nothing for Tiger's Eye to hide behind. While he was enveloped in smog from the truck, he disguised himself.

"Excuse moi?" A voice said to Saori. It was Tiger's Eye disguised. He asked her for the time. He walked up to her and she said it was five thirty.

"Oh no!" Tiger's Eye shouted melodramatically in his fake French accent. "Five thirty already? What am I going to do!" He faked crying. Saori asked what was wrong. He said he was supposed to meet his tour guide at five o' clock. He peeked through his hands, and asked Saori her name. He pulled his flattery routine, and asked Saori out to dinner. Saori politely refused, as she was waiting for someone to arrive. Tiger's Eye cried melodramatically again. Darien arrived, and Saori ran to him. They went down the street together, leaving Tiger's Eye behind. Tiger's Eye was infuriated. Hawk's Eye and Fish Eye laughed at him, suddenly appearing on the street.

"If she didn't have a boyfriend, it'd be different." Tiger's Eye said.

"Yeah, she probably would have called the police." Hawk's Eye remarked. Fish Eye thought Tiger's Eye was losing his touch. Tiger's Eye was determined to show his colleagues.

"I'm afraid we can't see each other anymore, Serena." Darien said. Serena gasped, her heart breaking. "I'm seeing Saori now. I cared about her." Darien continued. "She and I do have more in common. Saori and I were meant for each other. I'm sorry."

With that, Darien and Saori walked off together. Serena cried out, saying that Rini wouldn't exist without them.

"That can't be good!" Rini said, snapping out of her dream. "What am I gonna do? This is a big problem! I want to exist!"

With that, Rini took off running down an overpass, searching for Darien. She almost tripped over herself when she saw Darien walking with Saori. She ran to the bottom of the steps and pretty much spied on them. She moved forward, and as she did, Kobi moved out too. The display looked like some sort of twisted mirror. They spotted each other and jumped. Kobi laughed sheepishly and said hello. Rini, still startled, said hello back.

As Saori and Darien walked, they got to talking. She felt that she was imposing, but Darien insisted she wasn't.

"So, fess up." Darien said. "What are you going to buy for this guy?"

Saori looked only slightly troubled, keeping her gaze forward.

"Is it for a guy?" Darien asked. "Maybe someone special?" Saori blushed fiercely.

Meanwhile, Kobi and Rini were walking a few paces behind Darien and Saori. Kobi was giving up hope, thinking that Saori and Darien looked perfect together.

"Well, don't just give up!" Rini said. "Go get her, okay?" She ran forward, practically cheering on Kobi (Kobiyashi, she called him), and continuing to follow Saori and Darien. Kobi sighed.

Meanwhile, Serena's dilemma continued. Rini came up behind her, and scared her half to death. Rini told Serena that Darien was being "picked up" by Saori.

"You can't just cling to the idea that Darien's love for you will never die!" Rini said. "Didn't you see Saori? She's prettier, more sophisticated, smart, and certainly much more intelligent than you! I'd much rather have her for my mother if I could choose, but I can't, and the biggest bummer is that I won't be born either, which will happen if you don't get your paws back into Darien!"

Rini's words sunk Serena into sorrow. Serena wailed for a few seconds, and then laughed. She told Rini that she could never doubt Darien's love, and the only problem facing her was the blue hippo and the pink donkey. Rini grabbed hold of Serena and yanked her out of the store.

"What's wrong?" Darien said. He and Saori were talking after buying a gift.

"Would you like it?" Saori asked.

"What, the tie?"

"No, not the tie... I was thinking..."

"Pardon?" A voice said with a fake French accent. Saori gasped to behold the sight of Tiger's Eye in front of her. He asked her for the time. When she was checking her watch, he transformed into his normal self.

"Un! Deux! Trois!" Tiger's Eye shouted. Saori was trapped on the upright table, and her Dream Mirror appeared. (For those who don't know, Tiger's Eye counted 1, 2, 3 in French)

Darien ran to help Saori, but Tiger's Eye knocked him back with his whip. He threw a shower of knives at Darien, and they pinned him down. Saori told Tiger's Eye if he stopped his attack, he could get a lighter sentence, being charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Tiger's Eye, unthreatened, looked into Saori's Dream Mirror. Rini and Serena happened by, as Rini had tracked Darien and Saori's tracks. They spotted Tiger's Eye and transformed.

"MOON COSMIC DREAM ACTION!"

Tiger's Eye didn't find Pegasus, and got ready to get rid of Saori.

"Hey, Tiger Pants!" A voice yelled. Tiger's Eye turned and saw Sailor Moon and Sailor Mini Moon.

"Only one with no fashion sense makes a nice stylish, young woman suffer!" Sailor Moon shouted. "We're the Sailor Scouts!"

"And we stand for Love and Justice!"

"I am Sailor Moon!"

"And I am Sailor Mini Moon!"

"And on behalf of the Moon, we shall punish you!"

Tiger's Eye called forth his monster, which was a large balloon with arms, legs and a face. It opened its tie, and zoomed around in the air. It pinned Mini Moon to the ground, and started suffocating her. Sailor Moon tried to get the monster off of her companion. Tiger's Eye was pleased. He left, and Saori was freed from her binds. Mini Moon's face was turning blue. Sailor Moon continued to pull on the monster, and it bounded up of its own accord, sending Sailor Moon flying back.

The monster was first flying towards Saori, but then it spotted Darien. Instantly falling hopelessly in love, the monster zoomed at Darien. Before it could hit, Sailor Moon stopped it. The balloon monster was keeping Sailor Moon from breathing. Darien shouted at the monster to get off of Sailor Moon, and the monster had begun crying because Sailor Moon was risking her life for her man. The monster leaned backwards, bringing Sailor Moon with it. Sailor Moon's arms dropped lifelessly.

"Serena..." Darien said in disbelief of the sight. "Serena!!!"

Saori was waking up from her fainting. She muttered, "Serena..." She suddenly thought of how similar Sailor Moon and Serena were, and knew that Serena was Darien's destiny.

Darien tore out of his bladed binds, which shredded his clothes. He grabbed a knive and jabbed it into the monster. The monster popped, and flew around in the air out of control. Sailor Moon dropped into Darien's arms. Mini Moon woke up, and Darien tried to awaken Sailor Moon. She awoke, and smiled at Darien. Meanwhile, the monster landed on the ground. Its form had changed from a round balloon, into a rubbery humanoid shape. It put tape over the hole Darien left in it. Sailor Moon cued Mini Moon.

"Please, Pegasus, Protector of Dreams!"

"CRYSTAL TWINKLE BELL!"

The monster was trying desperately, but vainly, to reinflate itself.

"MOON GORGEOUS MEDITATION!"

With the monster gone, Sailor Moon ran to assist Darien. Saori came to, and saw the two together. A pain shot through her heart, seeing Serena and Darien together, and looking at each lovingly.

"Saori!" Kobi called. He met up with Saori after the school for the day was out. "How'd it go?" He asked.

"Sorry?" Saori replied, not knowing what he was talking about.

"Come on." Kobi said. "I know all about it. You were going to tell Darien how you felt about him. So what did he say?"

Saori just shook her head. Kobi asked what she was saying.

"Look." Saori said. "I'd like you to have this. It's better suited to you." She held out a small box. Kobi took the box.

"You're saying you're giving him up?" Kobi said. "You shouldn't get discouraged. It's not like you, the future chief of police."

Saori shot him a look that could kill.

"And believe me, I'm not making fun of you!" Kobi continued. Saori laughed.

"Police chief I'm not." Saori said. "I'm no match for the girl who protects the worlds peace."

Kobi looked blankly at Saori. Meanwhile, somewhere, Rini and Serena were continuing their eternal battle over the heart of Darien.
