Episode title: A Teacher's Lesson

Original American Airdate: 10/5/2000

Original Canadian Airdate:

Zirconia had brought the Amazon Trio before him. They were talking about Pegasus. Fish Eye said that anyone with a beautiful dream wouldn't rule the world. Hawk's Eye said that if people didn't relax, their beautiful dreams would be destroyed, and Pegasus would run. Zirconia agreed, saying that if anyone knew Pegasus had strong powers, it would be too dangerous. He concluded that if people who had Pegasus in their dreams tried to control him, he would leave to another dream.

After the meeting, Tiger's Eye went amongst stacks of empty cages. He called forth his Remlis and asked it if it had heard what they were talking about. The Remlis had heard them say that Pegasus was more of a shadow in the real world. Tiger's Eye instructed the monster to use its powers to go into the shadow of something someone possesses to get into their heart. By doing that, they could find the person who dreams about Pegasus, and get Pegasus himself.

On a bright, sunny day, Rini was painting in her art class in a meadow. A girl came up to her, and said her painting was excellent. A boy said the painting was okay, and the girl got mad at him. She tried to look at his painting, and he tried to stop her. An odd thing to note was that Rini was wearing a fake moustache and glasses, to look like a renaissance painter.

The teacher of the three, Miss Marino, came up to them. She asked Rini why she was wearing the moustache, and Rini said it made her feel like a real artist. Miss Marino told her to take it off. Rini said it helped her paint. Miss Marino took a look at her picture, and said it was nice and full of life, but couldn't give her a good mark.

"You were supposed to draw a landscape." Miss Marino said. "Do you know what a landscape is? It's when you draw exactly what you see. You don't make up and add things that you can't see with your own eyes, that's not a landscape. Understand?"

Rini thought it looked good as it was, but Miss Marino said she didn't understand.

"Why are you being so mean to her, Miss Marino?" The boy said. "This is why no one wants you to be their art teacher."

Miss Marino told Rini to remove the Pegasus before she handed in her drawing. She walked away, and the girl and boy just wondered what was wrong with their teacher, and why she was never nice to them. Miss Marino in the meantime, had found her way to a park bench.

I don't know what to do. I just can't get through to those kids. She thought, removing her glasses. She sighed.

Meanwhile, Tiger's Eye had chosen a picture of Miss Marino. He told Hawk's Eye to go, but Hawk's Eye was unnatracted to Miss Marino, so he refused. Tiger's Eye told Fish Eye to go, but Fish Eye wasn't interested in women. Tiger's Eye ended up going on his own.

"One, two, three!" Rini counted. Serena shouted at Rini that she had gotten three telephone poles ahead. Rini ran back to Serena, and they began a game.

"Rock, paper, scissors!"

Rini had paper, and Serena had rock. Since Rini won, she got to run ahead without carrying the groceries. Serena grumbled as Rini ran ahead, and as she complained, Serena ran into someone, spilling the groceries all over the ground. The eggs had broken. Rini looked to see what was happening, and saw Serena. She ran to see what was going on. The person asked how to help, and said hi to Rini. Serena asked Rini who she was, and Rini said that the woman was Miss Marino.

Serena asked how Rini was doing in school, despite Rini's objections, and Miss Marino said that Rini was very good in class, and she made friends quickly.

"I wish I was more like her." Miss Marino sighed. Rini looked at her surprised. Miss Marino apologized for the eggs, and went on her way.

"So then, you're doing really well at school." Serena said.

"I am, but it's not true that I really make friends with everybody." Rini replied. They watched Miss Marino walk away.

As Miss Marino was walking, she was thinking about how tired and achy she was. She stopped when a voice called out to her. It was a disguised Tiger's Eye, this time looking like a fortuneteller.

"I sense you have some sort of problem." He said. "Am I right? I feel your unhappiness."

He told her he'd give her some advice for free. With some coaxing, Miss Marino sat down. While Tiger's Eye was doing a palm reading, Miss Marino was talking about how she'd always wanted to become a teacher, but when she became one, she found she couldn't stand to be around children.

"I don't know if I can keep teaching them this way." She said.

"Yes, I see it all." Tiger's Eye said. Man, I'm bored. He thought. I wish I could skip all this nonesense and go hunt Sailor Pumpkins and Pegasus right now. Soon enough. Patience, Tiger's Eye.

"I just wish I felt more comfortable with the children. I really want them to like me." Miss Marino said.

"Well, you don't have to worry anymore about those monsters." Tiger's Eye said. "'Cause I'll help you say goodbye to this miserable life."

Miss Marino was understandably frightened, and tried to run away. Tiger's Eye stood, and tripped her with his whip. He revealed his true self. Miss Marino screamed in terror.

Meanwhile, Serena and Rini were walking home, Serena complaining as usual. Darien pulled up and offered the two a ride. They accepted, but had to go once they heard a woman's screams.

Tiger's Eye trapped Miss Marino against his... trap (What is that called?), and was peering into her Dream Mirror. Miss Marino fainted, and Serena and Rini saw what was going on.

"MOON COSMIC DREAM ACTION!"

Tiger's Eye did not find Pegasus.

"Stop it, Tiger Tot!" A voice shouted. Tiger's Eye turned around and saw Sailor Moon and Sailor Mini Moon. "A teacher is one who cares for her students, every one, and deserves a better grade of respect!"

"You, the nasty one attacking my teacher!" Sailor Mini Moon shouted.

"We're the Sailor Scouts!"

"And we stand for Love and Justice!"

"I'm Sailor Moon!"

"I am Sailor Mini Moon!"

"And on behalf of the Moon, we shall punish you!"

Tiger's Eye got out his whip and attacked the Sailor Scouts. He missed, so he tried daggers instead. They missed too. He leapt at them, but a rose stopped him in his path.

"How pathetic that you attack women all the time." Tuxedo Mask said, holding his cane up to Tiger's Eye's throat. He told Mini Moon to go for it.

"Please, Pegasus! Protect people's dreams!"

"CRYSTAL TWINKLE BELL!"

Pegasus appeared as he always had when Sailor Mini Moon called him. Tiger's Eye called his Remlis, and it flew directly into Pegasus. Tiger's Eye ran for it, and Miss Marino is freed. Pegasus' body turned to stone, and Sailor Mini Moon's eyes went blank. Sailor Moon tried to help her. But Rini was drawn into the dark, cavernous recesses of her own heart.

"So, it's you then, is it?" The Remlis said, emerging from the darkness. It swam through the air, and the stone Pegasus statue appeared. Rini tried to run to it, but try as she might, she couldn't get closer to him.

"It's in your sweet dreams that Pegasus lives." The Remlis said. "Isn't he a lovely horse? He's so charming."

"What are you going to do with Pegasus?" Rini said as the Remlis leaned its arm on Pegasus' head.

"I won't do anything with Pegasus because he is your horse." The Remlis replied.

"My horse?"

"Of course! Since we're in your dream now, everything you can see belongs to you."

The Remlis made reigns appear on Pegasus, and told Rini to take them. Rini was about to take them, but she stopped. The Remlis asked what was wrong.

"Come on, take the reign." The Remlis said, offering it to Rini again. Rini refused again. "Then, you can make Pegasus yours."

"No!" Rini said.

The Remlis continued her deception. "Why not? You don't want Pegasus? Listen, this is no ordinary horse. With the power within him, you could make the whole world yours."

Rini's resolve faltered, but she remained with her decision. The Remlis came to Rini with the reigns, and put the girls hand in its. Rini stared at the hands for a moment, and then yanked her hand away.

"My dream is to make friends with those I love! I don't want to own Pegasus!" She shouted. "I want to make friends with him! I want to be his friend! He won't be my friend if I am controlling him by force!"

The Remlis tried to tell Rini that controlling Pegasus would be fun. Rini yelled at the Remlis to get out of her dream, and the cloudiness was suddenly replaced by warmth and light. Pegasus' body was returned to normal, and the reigns were broken. Pegasus' light shone in the sky again, and everyone was taken out of Rini's dream. The Remlis landed on the ground, and Sailor Mini Moon's mind was restored.

"MOON GORGEOUS MEDITATION!"

The monster was destroyed, leaving nothing behind. Tuxedo Mask went to get his car.

Miss Marino was with her children, and they were having fun drawing and playing in a meadow.

Miss Marino awoke suddenly with tears in her eyes. She asked what happened, and Rini told her that Sailor Moon made Tiger's Eye run away. Darien offered her a ride, but she decided to go on her own. Rini and Serena politely said goodbye, and started to walk home. Miss Marino called after Rini.

"About that landscape," Miss Marino said, "why didn't you take that Pegasus out?"

Rini smiled at her. "Because I thought the sketch looks nicer with Pegasus in it. Besides, I wanted to draw what I was feeling when I was on the hill. I thought the view would look better with Pegasus in it."

"Still, you know I can't give you a high grade for it, no matter how good it is." Miss Marino said.

Rini nodded. "I know, but I still love what I painted!"

"You are so unique." Miss Marino said. She leaned in close to Rini. "And just between you and me, I really love your picture." She smiled and giggled. As she left, she thought to herself that she had to love who she was.

"You can't beat these kids!"

That night, Rini was getting ready for bed, when a bright glow interrupted her. An odd-looking lamp or something appeared in Rini's room. It had a small globe on top, and it shimmered and shone with jewels on it. The globe glowed with light, and Pegasus appeared inside it.

"Pegasus... why are you...?"

"I want to be your friend too." Pegasus said. "I want to be around you."

"Are you sure?" Rini asked. "Can we see each other anytime from now on?"

Pegasus nodded. "But, just the two of us alone."

"I guess we can talk a lot tonight then." Rini said. "Oh yes! Wait a minute."

Pegasus blushed and looked away as Rini undressed.

"What's the matter?" Rini asked, only clothed in her underwear.

"Um... nothing." Pegasus stammered.

"Look," Rini said, getting on her pajamas, "we call you Pegasus, but that's not your real name, is it? Tell me your real name."

"I'm sorry." Pegasus replied. "I can't tell you now."

"Oh..."

"I'm so sorry."

"No, it's alright!" Rini jumped onto the bed. "We can make friends with each other little by little, right?"

"Right."

Rini smiled joyfully at her new friend.
