Sailor Moon Episode 143Episode title: A New Nightmare Original American Airdate: 10/26/2000 Original Canadian Airdate: In an unknown room in the Dead Moon Circus tent, the form of Queen Nehelenia quietly and patiently awaiting the arrival of Zirconia. "Zirconia at your service, your highness." Zirconia's raspy voice growled. "That goes without saying." The Queen's voice replied haughtily. "Now, listen carefully to my instructions. I hate to repeat myself." Zirconia waited silently as Nehelenia explained. "I want you to find the Golden Mirror of Elysion for me." Nehelenia said. "With it, I can rule the universe, and return the kingdom of the Dark Moon to its rightful glory." Zirconia informed Nehelenia about the new Amazons he had been training. Nehelenia didn't care. She only cared that the Golden Mirror was brought to her. Andrew hung a poster on a wall. It was an advertisement for a circus that was in town. Rini and her friend Melanie saw it immediately, and were excited to go. Serena and Darien happened in at that moment, and asked what was going on. Andrew directed them to the poster. It was a poster for a circus called the "Dead Moon Circus". Rini grabbed onto Darien's arm and said that she was free, since she had her homework done. Serena pulled on Rini's cheek, and said that if Darien wanted a special night out, Darien would go with her. Melanie saw how Serena stuck to him like super glue. "But I can't figure out how such a meatball head snagged such a hunk." She said to Rini. "Darien doesn't notice all my faults, he just admires my inner beautisness!" Serena replied. Darien remarked, "I don't notice?" Melanie said that she had read about that kind of love in a magazine. She dreamt of having that kind of love. Nearby, the group noticed a group of girls at a video game. There were four, dressed in a different color. The one girl playing it had excellent reflexes, and mastered the game easily. One of the girls received a page from "headquarters". The girls all had to go. On their way out, the girl in red stopped and faced Rini's friend. "Little one, don't be in such a hurry for a boyfriend." She said. "Why not?" Was the defensive reply. "Because having a boyfriend means you'll be all grown up, which means you can kiss your dreams goodbye." The girl in blue said. "That's right." Chimed the girl in green. "You're much better off staying little so you can live in your fantasy world." The girl in yellow spoke up. "Yeah, because kids dreams are the best!" She said. "They're so pure and full of promise, just like their creators." Then, the foursome walked off, chanting a haunting phrase, over and over. "Don't dream that you're all grown up, big dreams are best just for kids!" "Is it just me, or were those girls like a four pack of Froot Loops?" Andrew quipped. Serena said, "They're so missing the point about being able to dream and having a boyfriend." "Oh, like you're an expert." Rini said. Meanwhile, at the giant circus tent that continued to sit in plain view of the entire city of Tokyo, all the creatures were repeating the chant that the four girls had said at the arcade. Amongst them were the four girls too. The girl in blue balanced on a ball. The girl in yellow sat on a trapeze. The girl in green walked a tightrope, and the girl in red dangled from the darkness. They spoke about children growing up and adults losing their dreams because they learn that dreams can't be accomplished. Best to remain a child forever. The four girls joined in the chanting. "Don't dream that you're all grown up! Big dreams are best just for kids! Don't dream that you're all grown up! Big dreams are best just for kids!" Zirconia's raspy voice finally rang out amongst the voices, and silenced them. Zirconia asked the names of his new workers. "Flower Magician, CeleCele." The girl in yellow said. "Ball Rider, ParaPara!" The girl in blue said. "Great Aerobat, JunJun!" Said the girl in green. "Animal Trainer, VesuVesu!" Said the girl in red. "We're the Amazon Quartet!" Zirconia had been waiting a long time for them Quartet to appear. The girls told Zirconia to relax, and informed him that they were only going to take missions that were fun for them. Zirconia shouted at them, and silenced them. He couldn't stand for this insubordination. "We don't have to follow your orders unless we want to." Said CeleCele. The other girls just wanted to do what they wanted. And that consisted of running the circus themselves. VesuVesu leapt into the air and attacked Zirconia. Zirconia easily countered VesuVesu's attack, and held her at a stalemate, though he could easily destroy her. VesuVesu seemed to be winning though, and just as easily as he could, Zirconia sent out an energy blast that sent the entire Quartet crashing back into the floor. The Quartet, defeated, obeyed their master. Since VesuVesu had lost, she was the one sent on a mission to check the dreams of their first target - Rini's friend from the arcade. VesuVesu went on her way. When she was near her target, she disguised herself as the girl she was before. She was holding a handful of tickets to the Dead Moon Circus. "Hey, girlfriends!" VesuVesu exclaimed to Rini and her friend. "We're not friends." Rini's pal remarked. VesuVesu held out the tickets. "I want to apologize for before." She said. "You do?" "Yeah, my friends and I were rude to you at the arcade." VesuVesu said. With that, VesuVesu presented the tickets as a gift to them. They took them gratefully, and VesuVesu went off, sneering at how well her plan was going. That night, Serena, Amy, Raye, Lita, Mina, Rini, Darien and Melanie were all at the Dead Moon Circus tent, ready to take their seats. Serena, being the hipocrite she was, tried to spy a cute acrobat. Raye told them to sit down. High up in the shadows, the Amazon Quartet were trying to spot their target. ParaPara spotted Melanie in her seat. VesuVesu asked who wanted to look at her dreams, and CeleCele volunteered for the job. The circus started. All sorts of people, creatures from before, did all kinds of tricks and acrobatics. Melanie and the girls watched one particular trick, where a man in a suit was hung upside down, and his head lowered into a large, strong man's hand. The strong man tapped the hung man's tophat, and the man turned into a flamingo. The girls giggled at the sights. Then, a person with a large bear head stepped onto a trapeze, and swung back and forth. Melanie thought it was an odd trick, because something odd happened whenever the trapeze descended. The person with the bear head seemed to change into a girl, then back into a bear, and so forth. As Melanie watched, her mind slowed down, and she felt drowsy. She was being hypnotised. The trapeze artist, who was CeleCele, scattered soft pedals that finally captured Melanie's mind. When the trapeze artist was done, and the lights high up had gone out, Melanie rose to her feet, and left the tent. Rini, feeling something very dire about the situation, alerted Serena. Melanie walked outside the tent, and to two trailers nearby. Waiting in between them was the Amazon Quartet. They snapped Melanie out of her trance. Melanie was more than surprised to see that she wasn't in her seat. She saw the Amazon Quartet, and was frightened. Serena and the girls saw the scene, and decided that the Sailor Scouts had better rectify the situation. VesuVesu held up a shiny red ball, and held it out. It floated in mid air perfectly. VesuVesu took out a pool cue, and shot the ball. It banked around corners and walls, finally hitting Melanie in the back. Melanie's Dream Mirror popped right out rather quickly. It looked like all the other Dream Mirrors. "Man!" VesuVesu said, exhasperated. "That's not Pegasus' Golden Dream Mirror!" ParaPara said that Zirconia was to blame. "You leave her dreams alone!" A voice suddenly shouted. From out of the shadows, Sailor Mercury appeared. "We're here to shut down this trashy three ring circus!" She shouted. "So pack your tent, and hit the road!" Sailor Mars said as she appeared. Sailor Venus appeared. "We're the Champions of Justice!" She shouted. "We will right wrongs!" Shouted Sailor Jupiter. "And triumph over evil!" Shouted Sailor Moon and Sailor Mini Moon. All the Sailor Scouts said together in chorus, "And that means you!" JunJun sneered at the Sailor Scouts. "Hey guys, we get to meet the pumpkins that the Trio told us about." She said. "You do have big mouths like they said." Said CeleCele. "Don't get them mad! They can throw fire and thunder balls!" ParaPara said. Finally, VesuVesu called forth her monster, GaraGara. GaraGara was an odd snake monster with a snake head coming out of the human torso at the end. As quickly as anything, GaraGara swallowed Melanie's Dream Mirror. Sailor Mini Moon ran forward in the name of her friend, and leapt into the gaping jaws of the snake head. She held the head open as best she could, and tried to reach for Melanie's Dream Mirror. The snake head flailed around, and finally flung the young girl to the wall. "MEGA MARS FIRE FLASH!" Sailor Mars' attack singed the monster, and weakened it greatly. "My friend Pegasus, please save people's dreams!" "CRYSTAL TWINKLE BELL!" Pegasus appeared. His golden light shone brightly, and the Amazon Quartet was shocked that he appeared. They were also amazed at his majesty. "MOON GORGEOUS MEDITATION!" The monster was destroyed, and Melanie's Dream Mirror was freed. The Quartet ran for it, and Sailor Moon suggested they return Melanie's Dream Mirror. The Quartet had retreated to what looked like a spa, to recuperate after their loss. They were disappointed that the Sailor Scouts had ruined their day, but it was no great loss. VesuVesu wanted to get the Golden Mirror, but JunJun told her that her turn was up. CeleCele thought Pegasus looked beautiful. "Gorgeous." VesuVesu replied. "I wonder what Z's going to do with him, though." "I hope we get to ride him." ParaPara said, relaxing from the massage. "I've always wanted to ride my own flying pony." The girls continued their scheming. Meanwhile, Zirconia stood before the wonderful mirror that once beheld the faded image of Queen Nehelenia. The Queen had appeared. "I have every reason to believe that the Amazon Quartet are planning a rebellion, which would include keeping Pegasus for themselves." Zirconia said. "I'll terminate them. There are plenty of others who will work for us. Do I have your permission, Mistress?" "No, let them be." Nehelenia replied. "Most importantly, you must find Pegasus. We'll worry about the rest later." "But Queen..." "Just do as I say." Nehelenia warned. "Leave the Amazons alone." "They're traitors!" Zirconia said. "Not until they really do something." Nehelenia said, losing patience. "Until then, I command you to wait!" Zirconia obliged to his master's bidding. He told her that he was only trying to be a faithful servant. On the other side of the mirror, Nehelenia was quite a beautiful woman, her face young and pretty, and her body that of a youth with immense power. "I know." Nehelenia said. "And when I claim my throne as Queen of the Moon, I'll remember your loyalty." She turned around and said, almost to herself, "Soon, the universe will welcome the true queen of the moon, Queen Nehelenia!" To the Next episode |
