Sailor Moon Episode 112

Episode title: Goodness Eclipsed

Raye was having her dream again. The tornado tore apart the world around her. In the sky above her, three bright lights glared in the sky, and disappeared. Raye looked atop a large rock pinnacle, and standing there was the Sovereign of Silence. The Sovereign looked at Raye with her eyes, and with no remorse, continued to destroy the world. Raye gasped in horror as the face showed a glimpse of familiarity...

Raye suddenly shot up, awake. The girls around her continued their studying. The girls had come across an ad for a new exhibit at the local planetarium, and as it was going to involve the hottest new celebrity, the girls decided to go. Rini asked if they could bring along Hotaru.

"Sure, why not?" Raye said.

"Alright then." Serena said. "It'll be a girl bonding thing." Rini cheered, elated. Mina looked at the table top pensively.

"If Hotaru comes, we can probably expect to see Amara and her gang there." She said. "They've been watching her every move. Does anybody know why?"

As the girls spoke, Raye flashed back to her dream for a second.

Amy thought that Hotaru might be the next target of the Heart Snatchers. Mina theorized that maybe the Heart Snatchers are protecting her. As they continued talking, Raye thought about the Sovereign she had seen in her dream. The girls talks made her think about Hotaru. Suddenly, the vision was clear.

"I just can't wait for tomorrow!" Rini exclaimed, interrupting Raye's thoughts. "By the way, I'm out allowance money, Serena!"

"I just want to say something!" Mina said, looking at Serena. "It's really nice of you to be so maternal with Rini! It suits you."

"It does?" An embarrassed Serena replied.

"I hope I get to be a mother someday!" Mina went on. "I would be terrific at it!"

Rini suddenly started trying to get money out of Serena. The girls started to argue, but Raye was just thinking about her dream, and the new questions it brought up.

That night, amidst the Tokyo skyscrapers, Amara, Trista and Michele were talking to each other.

"I've been having a recurring dream lately about the end of the world, and it's becoming more and more realistic each time." Michele said. "Raye's been having it too."

Trista looked on, concerned. "We must find the Sovereign." She said. "The sooner, the better. If the evil wakes the dark slumber, the Sovereign will rise, and then it's over."

Amara looked over the city below. "The dark silence. Could that be an eclipse?" She wondered aloud. "If so, your dream may become a reality. And what to make of Dr. Tomo and his strange daughter? It's really odd. Could they be behind all the heart snatching?"

"Saturn rules the star of destruction, which governs the Sovereign of Silence." Michele replied, looking up at the night sky. "The figure stands with a scythe, and the light of the Purity Chalice, and when resurrected, will destroy the world as we know it."

"It's odd, the shadow looks like someone we know." Trista added.

"Who?"

"Hotaru Tomo." Said Trista.

"Yes, of course!" Amara said. "It all makes sense! She's the daughter of the Heart Snatcher, Dr. Tomo. She's the perfect choice. Hotaru Tomo must be the Sovereign of Silence! That weapon in her hand is the Silence Scythe. We have to intercept this eclipse and keep the Sovereign from awakening.

"Trista, this job is going to require your powers of time control." Michele said.

Trista replied, "We're gonna have to work together, girls."

"Yes." Amara said. "If we don't stop it, Hotaru might be replaced by the Sovereign, who will bring death and destruction to our planet. I am not going to let that happen! We've got to stop it!"

"Poor Hotaru." Michele said softly, looking to the ground. "Her mystery's been revealed to us. We've got to reverse her destiny."

Meanwhile, the Sovereign of Silence sat on her stage, surrounded by a mass of stuffed animals. She awaited her full awakening on her throne, holding a stuffed bear. Dr. Tomo stood humbly before her.

"Soon, so very soon, the eclipsed darkness will crawl over this planet, and I shall be awakened." She said, her voice booming in the large speakers. "I'm the only one who can make your dreams come true."

"And you will." Tomo replied. "I knew we were right in choosing you to be the Sovereign of Silence."

"There's an energy beginning to bubble inside me." The Sovereign said, holding up the teddy bear. "I need more. Bring me more pure hearts. They will fuel me for my awakening." She pulled the bear apart, and threw it to Tomo's feet. "My power, once dormant, will reach its xenith of strength!"

Tomo stared at the broken bear and smiled.

Mimet was at her work desk, gazing dreamily at the host of the television show she was watching. His name was Thomas Harris, and he was counting down the hit list. Mimet received a call from Dr. Tomo. She gave him her specifications for the new Heart Snatcher. Tomo hung up.

"Gee, I wonder if our new target knows the words to 'Twinkle, Twinkle'." He said. "If so, he should be forced to sing it." He laughed loudly, while a small dome-like device shone dimly on a table nearby.

Hotaru was walking home from school. A girl behind her shouted out, and Hotaru watched in dismay, as the girl ran past her, to her friend. Hotaru sighed.

"Hotaru!" Another voice shouted. Hotaru looked up and saw Rini.

"I got your note." Hotaru said, smiling. "You had something to ask me?"

Rini nodded. "There's a new exhibit at the planetarium." She said, holding up an advertisement. "I would like you to come with me."

Hotaru said that she needed to get home first, but Rini said that they had to leave immediately, or they'd miss it.

"Your dad always works late, Hotaru. You'll still be home before he is." Serena's voice said. The two struggling girls looked to see her. Serena was with her friends. Amy, Mina, Raye and Rini each convinced Hotaru finally to go, and leave a message with her father so he wouldn't worry. Hotaru finally agreed.

At the planetarium, the girls sat in awe as the dome-shaped projection screen on the roof showed pictures of the Andromeda constellation. Thomas Harris was announcing the facts and mythology of the star cluster, and the audience listened attentively. No one saw the famous Outer Scout trio watching Hotaru at the door. Mimet was there too, though naturally, she wasn't watching the display.

"We were right. Mimet's here." Michele whispered to Amara.

"I think the target's the narrator." Amara replied.

Michele looked out into the crowd. "It's a real stroke of luck that Serena's gang managed to get Hotaru here." She said.

"It'll be easier for us to get rid of her." Amara said. "Especially if our suspicions are confirmed and she does turn out to be the Sovereign of Silence."

Meanwhile, Thomas was talking about the Scorpius Constellation, how it was the scorpion that stung Orion. As Mimet watched, she prepared her Heart Snatcher to attack. She gripped the case that held the Heart Snatcher inside.

As the crowd sat watching the display, Serena suddenly had a strange feeling. She looked towards the doors, and saw Trista. Trista nodded to her. The girls followed her outside, and asked her what was wrong.

"It wouldn't be fair to you not to tell you what's going on." Trista said. "For Rini's sake, I feel I must tell the truth. Uranus, Neptune and I are here because we have to try and block the effects of the oncoming Silence. The Heart Snatchers are about to invade with a terrible evil force."

"What exactly do you mean when you say 'Silence'?" Amy asked.

"The destruction of the world." Trista said quietly. "The Heart Snatchers are shrewd. They planned for it to happen during the eclipse. Sailor Mars, you've been dreaming about it, haven't you?"

Raye suddenly jerked, startled.

"Is that true, Raye?" Serena asked.

"Yes, it's true." Raye said. "It's been horrible. I've been having a recurring nightmare ever since those Daimon monsters reared their ugly heads. I haven't mentioned it because I didn't want to frighten anybody."

"It was a premonition, Raye." Trista said. "I've been having it too. But we've got beautiful positive crystal powers, and we must avoid the Silence Sovereign causing the destruction of Earth."

"Destruction of the Earth?" Amy asked. Trista held up her Garnet Rod, and told the girls to concentrate their minds on the light inside it.

At that moment, the girls were propelled into the dream, and saw the destruction of the world for the first time. Raye asked who the Sovereign of Silence was. Trista told her it was the girl in her dream, and she would appear the moment Saturn was in full eclipse. When all was over, the world in the dream lay wasted, a land of nothing but rubble and death. The girls ended the dream in horror when the Sovereign swung her Scythe at Raye, killing the poor girl...

The girls were back in the planetarium, staring at Trista.

"The Sovereign of Silence." Lita said aloud.

"Do we know who she is?" Amy asked.

Trista replied, "I'm afraid I can't tell you who she is. You'll find out when you meet."

Suddenly, screams emanated from inside the planetarium. Mimet had released her Heart Snatcher, who looked like it was dressed in stars. It had a black star on its helmet. It shot a small star at the exits, smashing the signs, and adorning the doors with the star symbol. Thomas Harris told everyone to remain calm and take cover, and then two more black stars shattered the glass booth around him. Mimet ordered the Heart Snatcher to take care of him while she took care of the audience. Before the Heart Snatcher could do anything, Mimet asked Thomas for his autograph.

"No!" He said, throwing a chair at Mimet.

"Fine then!" Mimet shouted. "Charm Buster, attack!"

The crowd was getting blasted by the power from Mimet's Charm Buster staff. In the back row, Hotaru looked very pale to Rini, and suddenly grasped her chest. Rini ran to find a doctor, and as she ran, wanted to turn into Sailor Mini Moon. Sailor Uranus appeared in front of her, and told her not to. They had to wait and see what would happen to Hotaru. Then, the Sailor Scouts appeared, attempting to rhyme at the Heart Snatcher.

Moon: "Twinkle, twinkle!"

Mercury: "Evil star! Don't we know-"

Mars: "Just who do you think you are?"

Jupiter: "Shine so bright, and wish to-"

Venus: "Stir the universe into a frenzy!"

All: "But we're the Sailor Soldiers!"

Moon: "And we're gonna finish you in the name of the Moon!"

Neptune smiled. "Well Mimet, I was wondering how long it was going to be before you showed up."

"Yeah." Pluto added mockingly.

"Oh, go away!" Mimet shouted. "Why do you chicks always ruin my party?"

Mimet ordered the Heart Snatcher to leave Thomas alone, and attack the Sailor Scouts. Then, she promptly retreated. The Heart Snatcher fired a black star at the Sailor Scouts, and they all dodged the shot. Their assailant leapt towards them, firing more black stars at Sailor Moon, who was able to dodge all the shots.

"The planets are aligned!" The Heart Snatcher exclaimed. "You can't stop the Sovereign!"

Meanwhile, Hotaru was really struggling with her weakness. Rini was at her side, trying to keep her from falling.

The Sailor Scouts took cover behind the back row of chairs. Black stars sailed over their heads and hit the walls of the auditorium. Suddenly, the shots stopped, and the Heart Snatcher had a rose stuck in its helmet, where the black star was.

"Game's over, Demonae!" Tuxedo Mask shouted. "Your magnetic field is neutralized by me! You can't make that eclipse come any faster!"

The Heart Snatcher simply took off its helmet, revealing another hat-like device adorned with black stars all over it. Every star on the helmet started projecting black stars around the room. In the back row, Hotaru had stood up, and Rini was telling her to get down. As Hotaru stood there, struggling to breathe, black stars shot by her. Then suddenly, a light surrounded her body, and the symbol of Saturn appeared on her forehead. Everyone looked in shock.

"She..." Began Sailor Mars.

"...Can't be!" Venus said. Hotaru's forehead shone with the symbol of Sailor Saturn.

"She couldn't be..." Mercury said.

"A Sailor Soldier?" Moon said in shock. With a look of anger, Hotaru shot a blast of energy at the Heart Snatcher, immobilizing it. Tuxedo Mask told Sailor Moon to help.

"MOON CRISIS POWER!"

"RAINBOW MOON HEART ACHE, ATTACK!"

Super Sailor Moon's attack annihilated the helpess Heart Snatcher, leaving only a globe of constellations behind. The Daimon pod popped out, and the bird spirit inside was set free.

"URANUS WORLD SHAKING!"

The Sailor Scouts looked in shock.

"NEPTUNE DEEP SUBMERGE!"

"PLUTO DEADLY SCREAM!"

The powers of the Outer Scouts sped towards Hotaru, who stood her ground with no fear. Rini stood to block the shot, but Super Sailor Moon dove into them, knocking them all out of the way. The shots converged, and blew up the back row.

"What is this?!" Tuxedo Mask said.

"Get away from her!" Uranus shouted. Sailor Moon looked at her.

"Why?" She asked.

"Hotaru is Sailor Saturn herself!" Uranus shouted. "The Soldier of Destruction, whose guardian star is Saturn!"

"When her ruler, Saturn, awakens..." Neptune said.

"Her only goal is to destroy the world!" Pluto finished.

"Get away!" Amara shouted. "She's wielding the Silence Scythe! Her powers are peaking!"

Pluto kept her guard up. "It's absolutely crucial that we not let her wake up."

"If Saturn wakes up, she'll bring about the end of the world!" Neptune said.

Sailor Moon shouted, "That may be, but I won't let you harm her!"

"Even if Hotaru is Sailor Saturn, or the Sovereign of Silence, she can't help it, and we really have to protect her!" Mars added.

Rini looked up at the Outer Sailors. "She's just an innocent girl!" She said. "We have to help her! There's got to be another way to save the world!"

The Outer Sailors said that there might be another way, but they didn't know what it was. Suddenly, Hotaru's fainted body disappeared.

Hotaru reappeared in her bed sleeping, with Kaorinite watching her.

"I shouldn't have worried." Kaorinite said to herself. "She came right home from school. Good girl."

Meanwhile, Dr. Tomo was in his lab.

"We've done it." He said, looking at his dome device. "We've achieved our objective. Now, she's Sailor Saturn, guided by the Star of Destruction. She's positioned us perfectly! Nobody else could have been chosen to be the Sovereign of Silence."

Tomo laughed maniacally. Inside the dome, the vision of another galaxy was becoming apparent.
