Sailor Moon Episode 84Episode title: Crystal Clear Again Original American Airdate: 6/13/2000 Original Canadian Airdate: 9/16/2000 Dr. Tomo stood before his array of test tubes. He smiled at each one, filled with an ovum-like cell. "Is that you, Kaori?" He said. Kaori entered. "What do you propose to do?" He asked. "Tell me, what is the goal of this operation?" "We want to get our hands on the Purity Force to take over the world." Kaori replied. "Well, if you say so." Tomo responded. "But, how do we do it?" "We have to hunt down the three crystals that are kept in the hearts of certain people." Kaori said. "Only then will we find the location of the Purity Force." "If that's our goal, we have to start by sending our Daimons in their pods." Tomo heated up the contents of a test tube and poured the contents into a beaker. The ovum in the test tube was penetrated by white bubbles, until it smashed the beaker, turning into a Daimon, the egg-shaped pod Mikusi had come from. Dr. Tomo laughed with glee, and Kaori sent the Daimon to find a person with a pure heart. The Daimon flew out of the sewers and into the sky. Meanwhile, Serena was in bed having a terrible dream. In it, the Silver Crystal lost its glow, and Sailor Moon became Serena again. When she landed, she was faced with the other Sailor Scouts. "Oh, did you forget something?" Asked Mercury. "You have to stop thinking about boys!" Scolded Jupiter. "Or maybe you missed out on a nap." Venus said. "Serena," Mars said sternly, "I think it's time you planned your retirement." "I planned what?!" Serena exclaimed. "You're supposed to be my friend!" In her dream, Serena leapt at Raye's throat. In reality, she lunged at Luna and squeezed her poor body. Luna struggled and screamed, and scratched Serena across the face. Serena came to her senses and apologized. "Wow, I guess you had a nightmare." Luna said. Serena reached for her locket. "No, it wasn't a dream." She said. "The Silver Crystal's really lost its shine. Now I can't change into Sailor Moon anymore." "Serena?" "Luna, does it really mean I won't be Sailor Moon ever again?" "No, don't be silly, it doesn't mean that." "But look Luna, the Silver Crystal's really fading." "Oh, come on, it's just a dream. Everything will be just fine. Cheer up Serena, it's okay! Why don't you ask Darien what he thinks?" Luna convinced Serena to go see Darien. Later, Darien and Serena were in the park together feeding the pidgeons. "Quite a nightmare, wasn't it?" Darien said. "Darien," Serena said quietly, "what do you think is going to happen to me now? Unless I can transform, I can't fight this new enemy. You see..." Serena stopped. Darien stood and sighed. "That's true." He said. "Hey, while I think, I'll show you something." He grabbed Serena by the hand and led her down the street. As they passed by a brick wall, they came to a hole. Darien led Serena through the hole, which revealed a large mansion. It looked dilapidated and worn down. Serena wondered if they should be there, but Darien reassured her it was okay. "We shouldn't be alone here." She said. "What are thinking, Darien?" Suddenly Serena blushed. "You want us to be alone? Just the two of us? Is that why you took me to this awful dump?" Serena blushed and felt her heart racing. "What kind of guy do you think I am?" Darien asked, amazed. "Oh come on." Serena replied. "You don't have to pretend, Darien." Serena leaned in to kiss Darien, but got a slurp instead. She opened her eyes and beheld a small brown kitten being held forward by Darien. "What's that?" She asked. "Oh, can I hold it, please?" Darien handed the kitten to Serena. "What a lovely kitten you are! She's a beautiful color, isn't she? I'll call her Ginger! Is this what you wanted to show me, Darien?" "Yes." He replied. "All the stray cats in the neighborhood live here." Suddenly, Ginger jumped out of Serena's arms, and ran into the house. Serena and Darien followed. Meanwhile, inside the house, a young girl put down a large bowl of cat food down. A large group of cats flocked around her and ate from the bowl. "Come and get it!" She said. "It's an all you can eat buffet, and there's plenty for second helpings." The door opened, and Serena's shadow covered the door. "So you're the one who feeds all these stray cats!" Serena said. The girl stood up, frightened. "Who are you?" She asked. "The Champion of Justice!" Serena replied. Darien stuck his head in the door, and said hello. He gave Serena a small gift bag and Serena loved it. Darien was embarrassed by her behavior and tried to laugh it off. The girl giggled. "I'll help you feed them." Serena said, crouching by the girl. "Do you come here everyday to take care of these cats?" "Yeah." The girl replied. "But, uh... it won't be for long. Poor kitties. Their home is going to be gone soon, because their house is going to be torn down." "Are you sure?" Serena asked. "Yes." She replied. "And the cats will have nowhere to go." "You must be really upset." Serena said. Suddenly, she stood up. "I know! I'll help you take care of the kittens!" Serena asked Darien if he would help. Darien agreed, but wondered if they should just find all the kittens a home. Meanwhile, the Daimon sped through the sky, looking for the person with the Pure Heart. It stopped at an apartment building, and went into a window. Inside, the Daimon found itself in a little child's room. It searched the room and finally absorbed itself into a puzzle of a cat. "What do you mean 'take care of cats'?" Exclaimed Raye, Mina, Lita and Amy. The girls were all gathered with Serena at Raye's temple. "Yeah!" Serena said. "Not only take care of them, we have to find loving homes or a shelter that will take them. There's always you, Raye. And you Amy, and Mina. And you too, Lita. I'm pretty sure you'll want to adopt a kitten, so I'll reserve one for each of you!" Each girl gave an excuse. Mina, much to Artemis' distaste, had 'enough trouble with Artemis as it is'. Raye whacked a tree, sending birds flying into the air. "You see?" She said. "It's a bird sanctuary here. I can't have a kitten here." "Me neither." Lita said, smiling. "You know, my mom's got allergies to cats. I couldn't have a kitten." Amy couldn't have one because she was too busy studying to take care of one. "I can't believe it!" Serena shouted. "That's just a bunch of stupid, pathetic reasons for not helping me!" Raye told Serena to calm down. She asked why Serena didn't just take them home. "Well... um..." Serena stuttered. "I'd love to have them, but I can't because Luna's already too expensive to feed! She already eats too much..." "What do you mean, I eat too much?!" Luna exclaimed. Amy shoved some food in mouth before she could continue. "Well anyway," Amy said as Luna attempted to down the food in her mouth, "maybe we can find someone else who can take care of all those cats." Serena said that the cats were going to stay at the temple. She told the girls to help her as she went to get food for them. Artemis turned to Luna, and said, "What on earth is going on?" "I don't know, but I sure hope she won't adopt them all." Luna replied. At the apartment building, the girl who fed the stray cats was rushing up the building's stairs. She was being followed by two cats. She reluctantly let them into her apartment. She took them to her room. One hopped on the bed and the other onto her desk. As she tried to get the kitten off her bed, the other jumped off the desk, scattering puzzle pieces everywhere. As the girl replaced the fallen pieces, it suddenly burst out in a white light, turning into a Heart Snatcher calling itself Nekonay. It was catlike in appearance, wearing bells around its neck. "I've come for the crystal you keep in your pure heart, little girl." She said. The girl ran as Nekonay thrust her claws at her, and ran. As she escaped, Nekonay slung her tail at the girl. The girl was able to get away. Nekonay walked up to a pile of puzzle pieces lying on the ground and they fused with her tail and became the new end of it. The girl made it to the street, with the two kittens following. She ran to the abandoned mansion. Once inside, she closed the door and collapsed against it, crying. She looked up startled, seeing Nekonay in a window door across the room. The girl screamed as Nekonay neared. Just outside, Serena and the girls were petting and adoring the kittens. Raye picked up a kitten. "You know, I was thinking. Maybe grandpa would let me keep one of them." "Why would you only take one? Why don't you adopt them all?" Lita knelt next to Serena. "You kidding Serena?" She said. "Raye's not exactly a cat super mom." As the girls laughed, Nekonay made her way into the house, looming over the girl. The girl screamed, alerting the Serena, Amy, Raye, Lita and Mina. The cats ran into the house, and the girls watched. Inside, the girl burst through a door, landing on the ground. The girl was pinned against the wall while Nekonay lifted up the rim of her skirt, exposing a black star on her body. The star shot a beam at the girl's heart. The kittens tried to come to her rescue, but to no avail. The girls witnessed the entire thing. Serena looked at her locket. "I have to try." She said. "I hope it works." "MOON CRYSTAL POWER!" Nothing happened. Serena collapsed. Meanwhile, the girl's heart crystal began to emerge. Raye, Mina, Lita and Amy quickly transformed. "MARS STAR POWER!" "JUPITER STAR POWER!" "MERCURY STAR POWER!" "VENUS STAR POWER!" "This time, this heart crystal will be ours." Nekonay said with a smirk. "No way!" Rang out a chorus of voices. Nekonay looked to see four forms. "The Sailor Scouts are here!" "MARS CELESTIAL FIRE SURROUND!" "SPARKLING WIDE PRESSURE!" The powers of Jupiter and Mars combined in power, but Nekonay was able to easily bat the shots back at the Sailor Scouts. In a mere second, the Sailor Scouts were immobilized. Serena tried to help them, but was just batted into a wall. With the girls out of the way, Nekonay finished extracting the girl's heart crystal. Serena, Luna and Artemis could only watch while Nekonay took hold of the heart crystal and prepared to leave. Suddenly, two energy attacks hit Nekonay out of nowhere, scattering puzzle pieces all over the floor. The Heart Crystal landed lightly on the dirty ground. Above the Sailors, two shadows stood in a stained-glass window, surveying the scene. "That was far too easy." One of them said. The Sailor Scouts, Serena and the cats looked on in amazement. The shadows jumped down and inspected the heart crystal. "Is that it?" The second one asked. "No it's not." The first one said. "It's not the right crystal. Let her keep it." The first shadow held out the heart crystal, and it returned to the girl. Color returned to the girl's face as her body came back to life. "I wonder who those two can be." Sailor Venus said as the two forms turned to leave. No one seemed to notice Nekonay putting herself back together at first, but they did when she reformed her body. Sailor Venus turned to the two forms and pleaded with them to stay and help them fight the monster. "I think you've misunderstood." Said the first form. "We didn't come here to help, or join your little group. We've come here to get our hands on the pure heart crystals." "So stop bothering us and solve your own problems." The second form said. In a second, they walked off and were gone. Nekonay split one tail into four tails, whipping and tossing the Sailor Scouts into the wall hard. Serena screamed out for help. Nekonay flung her tail around Serena's neck, and dragged her closer and closer. Suddenly, a red rose shot through Nekonay's tail. Serena stopped struggling as she realized that the tail fell to the floor in a mess of puzzle pieces. Nekonay and Serena looked up to see Tuxedo Mask in a window. "You're a dirty figher, Heart Snatcher!" He said. "But, pure hearts can win battles no one thought they could win!" He lept down to the floor, and Nekonay attacked. She weaved many of her tails into a large braid and thrust it at Tuxedo Mask. Tuxedo Mask counter-attacked with his cane, shattering the braid into small puzzle pieces. The cane impaled Nekonay, sticking her to a wall. Nekonay simply smirked and broke the end of the cane. She hurled it at Tuxedo Mask. Tuxedo Mask blocked the attack, and Nekonay leapt into the air. Tuxedo Mask foolishly blocked Nekonay's claw attack with his cape. He fell to the ground in agony. "Tuxedo Mask, are you alright?" Tuxedo Mask told Serena to run, and hurled a rose at Nekonay. The bud of the rose hit Nekonay in the face, sending her tumbling to the ground. "Run away, Serena!" He exclaimed. "Leave me here, and go quick! Come on, run!" "I can't do it!" Serena answered, grabbing his hand. "I just can't." Darien kept telling Serena to run, but Serena pleaded with Darien to let her stay. She wanted to protect him and her friends. With tears in her eyes, she asked Darien to let her stay and fight. They stood up together, hand in hand, and closed their eyes. Nekonay jumped to attack them, but was thrown back by a powerful pink light. Everyone looked on as the light grew and created an image of the Moon Kingdom around Serena and Darien. A pink orb flew down from a tower, and landed in their joined hands. The light formed into a new wand, with a crystal in it, and they were suddenly in their prince and princess forms. Serena and Darien looked in amazement at her new wand. Meanwhile, the Silver Crystal regained its power, and changed itself into a new locket. It was heart shaped, with a pink heart-shaped crystal inside it. "Together, our power has created this symbol." Serena said. "Could it be..." Luna started. "... the legendary Spiral Heart Moon Scepter?" Artemis finished. Darien and Serena were interrupted by Nekonay, who was attacking. The cats told Serena to transform. "MOON COSMIC POWER!" "There's no room here for your evil ways you fuzzball, you're cat litter!" Shouted the newly transformed Sailor Moon. "I stand for justice! I stand for love! I'm Sailor Moon, and I shall punish you in the name of the moon!" Nekonay charged towards Sailor Moon, but she stood her ground. "MOON SPIRAL HEART ATTACK!" Nekonay was suddenly slammed head on by a giant pink heart. The cat puzzle inhabited by the Daimon fell to the floor, and the Daimon popped out of it. It burst, and a spirit flew, evaporating into the air. Serena jumped for joy at her accomplishment. "Good work Sailor Moon, I'm really proud of you." Said Tuxedo Mask. The girls agreed. "And this." Sailor Moon said, holding up the Spiral Heart Moon Scepter. "It's our..." Darien nodded. The girls welcomed her back. Outside, the girl played with the kittens with a foxtailwhile the girls wondered how to take care of them. "We still have to find homes for the kittens." Lita said. Serena smiled. "I've already found them." She said. "There are five cats for Raye, two for Amy, two for Mina, and one for Lita. "But we told you, we can't adopt any cats!" Lita said. The girls started tickling Serena with their own foxtails. Suddenly, Serena said, "I contacted the animal shelter, and they'll take them in." The girls sighed. For revenge for not telling them, the girls all raised their foxtails again, and Serena took off running. "There she goes again." Said Luna and Artemis. To the Next episode |
