Sailor Moon Episode 96Episode title: Hello, Sailor Mini Moon Original American Airdate: 6/29/2000 Original Canadian Airdate: 10/28/2000 Dr. Tomo was in his lab, placing a call. The phone rang over and over again, and he waited impatiently. "What takes them so long to answer the phone up there in Witches 5 Research Lab?" Dr. Tomo griped. At the Witches 5 research lab, scientists were all working hard on experiments and studies. Dr. Tomo's call was finally taken, and rerouted to his desired caller. "Yes, this is Eudial." The woman said. She had red hair and wore a white lab coat. "Yes, Dr. Tomo here, I read your report." Tomo said. "You liked it?" Eudial asked. "Well, it was rather interesting." Tomo replied. "Glad to hear it." Eudial replied, looking at a list of studies. She began to type on a keyboard with one hand. "I've taken the liberty of pursuing my research, and have found a possible Pure Heart Crystal." Dr. Tomo was pleased, asking who it was. "The target is a well renowned drummer, Dr. Tomo." Eudial said. "All of our information indicates that she must possess a Pure Heart Crystal." Dr. Tomo said he had just finished his best batch of Heart Snatchers. He activated an oven-like device and placed a drum inside it. A test tube with an ovum in it was drained into a tube, where it became a Daimon pod. The Daimon pod was transferred to the oven where it was fused with the drum. At the Witches 5 lab, they recieved a box with a black star on it via conveyor belt. The box went straight into Eudial's car, and she was off through the streets, speeding out from a subway and onto the road. "Hello, girlfriends! What took you so long? We're gonna be late!" Serena said to her unenergetic friends. "Did you all forget? It's the Kimono Festival!" "What are you kidding?!" Mina said, suddenly enthusiastic. "Of course not!" Serena replied. "We'll look totally fab in our kimonos, won't we?" Lita said. "We'll be hot hot hot!" Mina and Serena replied. Meanwhile, someone was speeding down the street on their bicycle. Serena invited Amy to the festival, and Mina was not going to take no for an answer. "Well, you guys," Amy replied, "the Kimono Festival's my favorite." The girls cheered. The person continued to fly down the street on their bike. Lita wondered where Raye was. "She simply couldn't study today at the Temple, but she wouldn't say why." She said. Just then, the girls looked just in time to see Raye slide by on her bicycle, and crash into a sign, landing face first on the pavement. Raye limped into a nearby coffee shop. Inside, she met up with a girl. "Hello Raye." She said cheerfully, waving. "Maya, I am so sorry I'm late." Raye said, running over to the girl. Maya had only been there a few minutes. "Practice went longer than I'd planned." She said. "I guess I'm nervous about the festival." Meanwhile, the rest of the girls found a booth and sat, looking at Raye and Maya. "Who's that girl sitting with Raye?" Amy asked. "Her new best friend." Mina replied. "No way." Serena said. "Like anybody could ever take my place!" "For your information, I'm Raye's number one and only best friend!" Mina said, crossing her arms. "Maybe she's looking for someone new for the job and this is the interview." Lita said. "Why don't we just go and ask her?" Amy wondered. "Because then she'll think we're spying!" Serena replied. "Nah, what we need is to be able to eavesdrop, invisible like!" "No way!" Raye said to Maya. "You can't be nervous." "Before every show." Maya said. "I'd love to help." Raye said with determination. "My grandpa taught me lots of relaxation techniques." A waitress came up to Raye and Maya's table, asking for orders. They ordered hot chocolate and cheesecake. Suddenly, Raye thought she saw the girls hiding behind the waitress, and looked around the nurse like a street corner. In truth, the girls were hiding behind the waitress, albeit all at once, and hard inconspicuous. Raye searched around and around the waitress, and the girls moved around and around the waitress too, managing somehow to stay out of sight. It was until they started spinning the waitress out of control that a coffee dropped on Raye's head. "Serena, Amy, Lita Mina, this is all your fault!" Raye screamed, with the rest of the shop looking at the spectacle. Raye tried desperately to get the coffee out of her hair. "Why are you spying on me?!" She screamed. "Raye?" Maya said. Raye climbed over the waitress to address her. "Are you serious about the help?" "Absolutely!" Raye replied. "Great! Can we start today?" Maya asked. Raye agreed, and Maya left. She bowed to the girls from outside, and they bowed back. While the girls talked to Raye, they were letting droplets from their drinks fall onto their crinkled up straw wrappers to see the effects. They asked Raye who Maya was. "Her name's Maya, and she's drumming at the festival for me tonight." Raye replied. "Oh yeah, you're on the entertainment committee, right?" Amy recalled. Lita basically repeated Amy's question. "Yeah, my grandpa's friend runs the festival and asked me to book the talent for him." Raye replied. Serena looked confused as she studied Raye jealously. "So you go and get someone who hits a circle with two sticks instead of your rock star friend, Chad?" Serena teased. "If you ask me, they should've put you on the 'Boring Committee', not the Talent Committee." "Can it Meatball Brain!" Raye shouted loudly. "Calm down, Raye." Mina said calmly. "After all, it's only your first year. You know what they say: If at first you really bomb..." "Try and try again!" Amy said, before Mina could mix up another saying. "It won't bomb, I just hope Maya's fear won't ruin her performance, that's all." Raye said, sighing as she sat down. If I don't help Maya, her career could be over." "What's wrong?" Serena asked. "She stink?" "She's a world champion!" Raye countered, offended. "But she told me today she's been getting really bad stage fright, and it gets worse with every performance. She's even thinking of giving up drumming!" "So you weren't holding an interview for a new best friend like you-know-who thought?" Amy asked, smiling. "No!" Raye replied. "I think four best friends is enough, don't you?" "Does that mean we can get into the festival for free, then?" Mina asked. "Sorry, they don't give out free tickets." Raye said after Serena had become excited about the freebie. She suddenly grinned evilly. "But I can find a way for you to get in without paying." That night, the girls were working one of the festival games. "Goldfish scooping right here!" Serena shouted out, banging on a large fish. "Come scoop your goldfish! Try your luck at catching goldfish! And don't forget to tip the gong girl!" She sighed. "This is not what I had in mind when Raye said she'd get us into the festival for free." Mina however, found it fun to work with the children. Lita handed a young boy a small paddle. Amy helped the boy to scoop the fish into a small bowl. "Sorry, boys." Mina said to a trio of young boys. "I can only help you one at a time, kay?" "Who asked for help lady?" They asked. "We just want paddles." One of them said. "And they better be good." Said another. "Or else we're gonna tell our parents on you." Said the last one. Mina, in a fit of anger, picked up three paddles and flicked their netting hard. When the boys went to scoop up their fish, the fish broke through the netting. The boys were left dumbfounded, much to Mina's enjoyment. Meanwhile, Serena continued banging the fish and calling out. "Working hard, Serena, or hardly working?" A voice said. Serena turned around and saw Amara and Michele, both decked out in their own kimonos. The girls said hello, and Serena invited Amara to scoop a goldfish. Amara decided to give it a try. In one fell swoop, she got a goldfish. "How come you gave the fish to that little kid?" Amara asked Michele as they left. "We don't have time for a pet, Amara." Michele replied. "He'd be lonely." The two went to get something to eat before checking out the bonzai collection. "I wish we could eat when we wanted." Serena said. The girls tried to comfort Serena. Things turned worse when she was glaring at the water. She beheld the most horrifying and traumatic sight she could ever remember. It brought back feelings of despair and hopelessness. Such a dark presence could hardly be described. It was the Luna Ball. She spun around to see, but nothing was there. "I think the damage is done." Serena said. She was given permission to go look for it. As she walked, she came upon Raye. Raye was walking down the stairway on the side of a small building, and went to the window. Inside was Maya, practicing as hard as she could. Serena joined Raye in looking in on Maya. "Oh wow, that looks hard." She said. Raye took her away from the building. "I don't get it, though." She continued. "She's drumming that thing pretty good. What's she need you for?" "Nerves." Raye replied, looking sadly towards the ground. "She says she's feeling having strange vibrations lately. I'm hoping some of grandpa's techniques will help her relax and get her confidence back. It'd be a shame for people to miss out on her performance. She's so amazing. The drumming's so powerful. It can really move your spirits. She's totally dedicated to her art. I can't let her give up." "I never thought of drumming as an art." Serena said, considering the perspective. "Anything you put your whole heart is and art, I think." Raye said. "And Maya's given her whole heart into this ever since she was little. She's known she wanted to play the drums ever since she can remember." Serena was amazed. "And, she's become one of the best in the world. I gotta make sure she gets on that stage alright." "I can help you put together the alltime world's best pep talk!" Serena exclaimed. They cheered themselves on. Meanwhile, Eudial was driving through the fairgrounds, and had found the building where Maya was practicing. She stopped, and turned on her loudspeaker. In an echoing voice, she made what sounded like an announcement for Maya to head out to the drumming platform. Maya emerged from her practice room, and Eudial centered her in her binoculars. "Gotcha!" She said, peeling out as she backed up her car. She aimed a wierd gun at Maya. It looked a lot like a watergun, with a clear glass container on it containing pink fluid. The end of the barrell was nothing more than a black star. She pulled the trigger, and all the fluid was compressed, and a beam shot at Maya. Almost instantly, Maya's heart crystal flew out of her back. Maya fell to the ground. "How dare a Heart Snatcher show up here!" Serena said. "MOON COSMIC POWER!" "MARS STAR POWER!" "I'll be hitting the road with that Heart Crystal now." Eudial said, emerging from her car. "Oh no you won't!" Someone shouted. Eudial looked towards the source of the voice and saw two forms. "The only thing you're gonna be hitting is rock bottom, you heart snatching creepstress!" Sailor Moon shouted. "I am Sailor Moon, the Champion of Justice! So look out, you Heart Snatcher! I will not let you take this drummer's heart, so beat it!" "I'm Sailor Mars, and I have the power of fire!" Sailor Mars shouted. "When the heat is on, you can bet that the heat's gonna be on you!" Ignoring Sailor Moon's pun, Eudial introduced herself, and took off her lab coat. Underneath, she was wearing a black skirt with a red top. "I come from the bureau of bad behavior." Eudial said. Sailor Moon and Mars stood their ground, so Eudial sent her Heart Snatcher after them. The Heart Snatcher danced towards them, and stood between them. The two Sailors watched as a fuse lit itself and burned out. The result was a flurry of fireworks that shot into the air from a black pack on its back. Sparks rained down on Mars and Moon. Meanwhile, Eudial started walking towards the Heart Crystal, but stopped when she saw Uranus and Neptune standing before it. "I'm Sailor Uranus, and I won't let you have this crystal!" "Same goes for me! Neptune's my name, and saving heart crystals is my game!" Neptune knelt and inspected the crystal. "Hey, Neptune, that's my crystal! I found it first!" Eudial whined. Uranus told Eudial to go away. "It's not pure anyway, so your mission's a failure on all counts." Neptune said, returning the heart crystal to Maya. Eudial hopped into her car and sped off, leaving the Heart Snatcher, who had things well in control. "Do you think we should help them this time?" Neptune asked. "Let's give them a chance to prove they're real Scouts." Uranus replied. The two left the scene. Sparks continued to rain down on Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars. Just then, the Heart Snatcher threw two drums high into the air. The Sailors remained still with their arms high in the air. The drums landed on the Sailors, trapping them inside the leather. The Heart Snatcher raised two spiked clubs. "Take her! Take her! Take her!" Serena shouted, pointing at Sailor Mars. "You're such a traitor!" Mars yelled. "I'm not a traitor, I'm just being spineless!" Sailor Moon yelled back. "Stick together!" A voice suddenly shouted. The Heart Snatcher turned around and saw a new form. "Let's just say I'm not a fan." The person said. "I'm here to help my fellow scouts, who totally had a meltdown in the 'stick together' department!" Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars gaped with amazement. "I am Mini Moon, Champion of Love and Togetherness! I am the future, but I fight evil here and now! And that would be you!" The monster was unimpressed. Sailor Moon and Mars just continued to stare. "PINK SUGAR HEART ATTACK!" Mini Moon held out her small wand for a few seconds. It flickered a few times, but stopped. Nothing happened. "You worked every time in practice!" Mini Moon said to her wand. "You can't let me down now!" The Heart Snatcher tripped Rini, and she fell to the ground. The Heart Snatcher knelt in front of Mini Moon. Mini Moon tried her attack again. The wand began to blink again, and this time, small pink hearts hit the Heart Snatcher in the face repeatedly. The Heart Snatcher fell backwards, and Mini Moon began to hit it in the butt. Sailor Mars pulled the drum that trapped Sailor Moon off. "MOON SPIRAL HEART ATTACK!" The Heart Snatcher died, leaving only a drum behind. A small Daimon pod came out of the drum and broke, releasing the spirit inside. Later that night, the lights at the drum platform were on, and a crowd had gathered to here the upcoming concert. Serena grudgingly piggybacked Rini so she could see the performance. "Higher!" Rini whined. "I can't see anything! Your meatballs are in the way!" "Can it, mini brat!" Serena said. "The show hasn't even started yet!" "Who's the cutie pie, Serena?" Michele asked as she and Amara approached the duo. Serena wondered who Michele was talking about. "The one on your back that looks just like you." Amara said. Serena and Rini both shook their head vehemently. "She's just my cousin from out of town." Serena said. Then, Raye introduced Maya, and the show began. "So Rini, what's the reason you came to bug me this time?" Serena asked. "Mother told me to come back to become a Sailor Scout like you." Rini replied. Serena was in total shock. "You mean we're stuck with you again?!" "Yup!"
