Sailor Moon Episode 108

Episode title: The Shadow of Silence

Rini waved good bye to her friend, and started home. She stopped when a voice called out to her. Rini looked to see who she knew as Pluto. She went with Trista to a nearby park fountain.

"Well actually, I was worried that you'd forgotten all about me." Rini said. "It's been a long time, and you haven't come to see me at all."

"I couldn't forget you." Trista said. "Oh, and you should know my name is different in this world. It's Trista Meioh."

"So?" Rini replied. "My name is Rini, but I get called all kinds of other names. Mostly by Serena."

Trista laughed. "I'm sure she doesn't mean it." She said. "You know that, right Rini? I understand that you've lots of friends here." Rini was slightly started by Trista's words. "Do you like living in this world?"

Rini nodded with a bright smile. "It's fun and all my friends are really nice, too!" She said.

"Oh, that's good." Trista replied. "It seems that Queen Serenity must have sent you back to this time period so that you could have a healthy childhood, like any other normal girl in this time." Rini looked at Trista confused. "I assume she thought it would help you for when you would assume your future role as queen."

"Say, Trista?" Rini said. Trista looked at Rini, listening. "I can see you anytime I want, is that right?" She asked. Trista smiled and nodded. Rini made her promise, and Trista promised. Happy, Rini ran home. As she left, Michele and Amara joined Trista.

"You two seem to share a special affection. That's nice." Michele said.

"She's a good kid. It's kind of hard to believe that this little girl will be our princess in the future." Added Amara.

"Yes, but it's true." Trista replied. "She's the rightful heir to the throne of the Silver Millenium."

"Okay, let's do our best to watch and protect her from harm." Amara said. "Anyway, we must find the rightful heir to the Purity Chalice."

Trista turned around. "The Purity Chalice is the key." Trista said. "Now all we have to do to stop the deadly Silence is place it in the hands of the Princess who will use it right. Is that true?" Michele and Amara nodded.

"Yeah, but why do you think they're still taking pure hearts?" Amara wondered.

"Could it be they need it to fuel evilness within the Purity Princess?" Michele asked.

"I'm sure that's exactly what they're doing." Trista replied.

Michele: "If the Purity Chalice falls into her hands..."

Amara: "She must be good, not evil."

At the Witches 5 Laboratory (Now Witches 4, since Eudial's departure), Mimet was watching a video of a man breaking up with her.

"But why?" Mimet said. "You know how in love with you I am!"

The guy on the screen said that he loved someone else and it was over. Mimet threw her computer screen onto the floor. The phone rang, and she answered it rather rudely. It was Dr. Tomo calling, and Mimet quickly calmed herself down. He asked for a new target, and Mimet had the perfect person in mind. In anger, she broke the phone receiver, but quickly got to her job. Meanwhile, Dr. Tomo went to see the Sovereign of Silence.

"I can't wait any longer for this world to be mine." The Sovereign said. "I want to rest in silence."

"I beg your patience, your highness." Dr. Tomo pleaded. Just then, the Sovereign felt ill, to the point of almost fainting. Meanwhile, upstairs, Hotaru awoke in her room.

"Not again." Hotaru said as her head pounded with a hurtful headache. "I'm afraid of what I've done this time. I never remember anything after these spells." Hotaru heard the doorbell ring. Outside, Rini had rung the bell while standing on Luna-P, and fell to the ground. Kaorinite opened the door. Rini asked to see Hotaru, and Kaorinite simply said that Hotaru was resting, and closed the door. Rini looked on silently for a moment, and then started home. Inside, Hotaru came down the stairs as Kaorinite went down the hallway.

"Kaorinite, did someone come to the door just a minute ago?" Hotaru asked.

"Yes, that little girl called on you again." Kaorinite replied.

"And?"

"I told her you couldn't come out."

"Why didn't you ask me first?" Hotaru shouted, running down the hallway.

"Hotaru." Kaorinite said. Hotaru stopped. "Your father's lack of discipline may lead you to do what you want sometimes, but not when I'm here. I protect you whenever it affects your health. You know that you're not well enough to run outside."

Hotaru shot Kaorinite a nasty look, and ran after Rini. Meanwhile, Rini was walking with Luna-P, wondering why she couldn't see Hotaru. Down the street behind her, Hotaru appeared, looking for Rini. She called out to her friend, and ran to her. When she caught up to Rini, she was panting very hard.

"I was able to catch up with you." Hotaru said, smiling through her pants.

"Hotaru, you don't look very well." Rini said.

"I'm sorry I missed you at my house." Hotaru replied. "Was Kaorinite rude to you at all? She bothers me, and I'm kind of worrying about..."

Hotaru was interrupted by a fainting spell. She fell limp into Rini's arms. She tried to get Hotaru to wake up, and was hysterical. Serena and Amy happened by, and helped Rini take Hotaru to a hospital. At the hospital, Hotaru rested underneath some warm blankets, with Rini and Serena watching over her.

"If I hadn't gone over there to call on you today, this never would have happened." Rini said. "Hotaru, please forgive me."

"Oh, that's not true." Serena said. Rini looked at her. "You mean something to her, Rini," Serena said, "just as she does to you. That's why she ran after you today, even though she knew she shouldn't. You watch over her now, okay Rini? And when she wakes up from her sleep, she'll be glad to see you. She'll be alright. You'll see."

Rini and Serena both watched as Hotaru suffered in her slumber. In her dreams, Hotaru recalled a time when her goldfish's bowl had been broken, and her goldfish died. She wondered who did it, and Kaorinite told Hotaru that she had done it. It was true. Hotaru had done it. The dream flashed to a scene in school, where Hotaru had arrived at school. Her classmates all stood across the room from her, and a boy was injured greatly. When she said hi, he told her to leave him alone. She had hurt him too, causing the injuries, only she didn't remember doing it. The dream then flashed to a time when she was crying in her father's lap, talking about the incident. He told her it wasn't her fault, and Hotaru said she could feel someone else inside her. Meanwhile, Rini and Serena watched Hotaru sleep in her room. Amy came in and said that her mother was on her way.

Amy, Serena and Rini all watched Hotaru as she slept. Hotaru turned to her side, and Rini went to her. Rini grabbed hold of Hotaru's hand, and Hotaru weakly closed her hand around Rini's. Rini smiled as Hotaru woke up. Hotaru sat up, but Rini told her to lay down. Hotaru said she was alright.

"All the pain's gone away?" Rini asked. Hotaru nodded. "You feel stronger?" Rini asked. Hotaru nodded again. Rini cried, hugging Hotaru tightly. Hotaru's heart felt warm from Rini's friendship, and she felt the same thing.

"Hotaru?" Amy said. Rini and Hotaru looked at her. "Are you feeling better now?" She asked.

"Yes, thank you." Hotaru replied.

"Why don't you stay and lie down for a while?" Amy asked.

"It's okay." Hotaru replied. "It happens all the time." She pulled her blankets back to get out of the bed. Much to everyone's objection, Hotaru left, saying good bye. Rini went to go with her. As she and Hotaru left, Serena called after them.

"Our mom's a fabulous cook and loves to bake all kinds of goodies." Serena said. "You're welcome to come over any time and try them out!"

Hotaru thanked Serena and went on her way. Outside, Hotaru and Rini walked to the curb just as Amara pulled up in her car. She offered them a ride, and they accepted. As she sped down the road, she made small talk.

"I'm Amara, what's your name?"

"Hotaru Tomo."

"And your father, is he by chance, Dr. Tomo?"

"Yes."

Amara shot Hotaru a suspicious look in the rear view mirror.

"Say, Hotaru." Rini said. "Do you think I could come and see you again? Or, maybe I shouldn't." She looked down at the ground.

Hotaru smiled. "Of course!" She said insistently. "I'd like that a lot. I was really happy when you came over today."

"You sure?" Rini asked. Hotaru nodded. "Phew! What a relief!" Rini said. Both she and Hotaru giggled, while Amara watched them silently.

In another part of Tokyo, a handsome man sat alone at a coffee table. He looked like the man who had broken up with Mimet on her computer screen. Mimet came up to him, disguised, and spoke to him. He was an actor in a show called Hello Friends, and Mimet said that she had a friend she wanted him to talk to, and dragged him from his table.

Meanwhile, Amara sped down the road, but stopped suddenly when she had a bad sense. Rini asked if anything was wrong, and Amara was just thirsty. She watched Amara get out of the car, and suddenly realized what was going on. She asked Hotaru to wait in the car, and ran after Amara. In a park, Mimet was dragging the actor through the paths, and the actor asked her where her 'friend' was. Mimet said that her friend was in the small case she was carrying. She scolded him for cheating on his girlfriend, and sent out her Heart Snatcher, which looked like a teenage girl idolizing her favorite actor.

The actor turned and ran, but the Heart Snatcher leapt in front of him. She tried to take his Heart Crystal, but Uranus' World Shaking attack seperated them.

"There's a way to win a man's heart." Sailor Uranus said. "And it's not by force!"

Rini watched from the bushes as Mimet, the Heart Snatcher, and Sailor Uranus faced off. She pressed the nose on her Luna-P, and sent a communication to Serena, Lita, Mina, Amy and Raye about the danger.

"MOON PRISM POWER!"

Mimet told the Heart Snatcher to attack, and the Heart Snatcher asked if they could all be friends.

"With friends like you, who needs enemies?" A voice shouted. "I stand for love, justice, and truth, and friends that are genuine! I'm Sailor Mini Moon! And in the name of the future moon, I shall punish you!"

Sailor Uranus yelled at Sailor Mini Moon to leave. The Heart Snatcher, disappointed at Sailor Mini Moon not wanting to make friends, attacked. It attacked by changing its arms into a jump rope, and skipping at lightning speed towards its target. Sailor Uranus dove and grabbed Sailor Mini Moon, getting her out of danger. Meanwhile, back at the car, Hotaru's pain had come back, and she was suffering greatly. At the fight, the Heart Snatcher got ready to attack again.

"Why hunt for pure hearts when it's a personality you really need?" A voice rang out. It was Sailor Moon and the other Sailor Scouts. They jumped down from their perch, and stood before Sailor Mini Moon and Sailor Uranus.

"We're the Sailor Scouts!" They all said in chorus. "And we won't stand for stealing pure hearts!"

"So, in the name of the moon..." Sailor Moon started.

"We shall punish you!" They all said in chorus.

Mimet, scared out of her wits, gave up on the mission and ran off. The Heart Snatcher cried, and used its skipping attack. The Sailor Scouts jumped out of the way, and the Heart Snatcher ran off into the night. The Sailor Scouts looked on at the strange Heart Snatcher, Sailor Mini Moon realized that Hotaru was in the Heart Snatcher's path. Both Mini Moon and Uranus ran after the Heart Snatcher.

Hotaru was weakly clinging to the side of the car, and the Heart Snatcher yelled at her to get out of the way. Hotaru couldn't, no matter how hard she tried, and the Heart Snatcher refused to stop. Just as the Heart Snatcher was bearing down on the poor girl, Hotaru's eyes glowed, and the Heart Snatcher was suddenly levitated into the air. Bright lightning bolts struck and injured the Heart Snatcher, and Uranus witnessed the sight. The Sailor Scouts arrived just as the light display ended. The Heart Snatcher landed weakly on the ground, and Hotaru fainted.

"MOON CRISIS POWER!"

"RAINBOW MOON HEART ACHE!"

The book that once made the Heart Snatcher returned to normal, and the Daimon pod came out of it. It broke, and sent it's bird-like spirit into the air. When all was said and done, Rini reverted back to herself, and tried to wake Hotaru. Hotaru woke up, feeling weak.

"Are you alright now?" Rini asked, smiling brightly.

"Uh huh..." Hotaru replied as her eyes welled up with tears. "I don't think you should see me anymore. Otherwise, I might hurt you somehow."

"How come?" Rini asked.

"I'm sorry, Rini." Hotaru sobbed. "It's for your own good." With that, Hotaru ran off into the night. Rini watched her quietly as she went.

"Sailor Moon." Uranus said. Sailor Moon looked up at the Sailor Scout. "I think it's best if Rini stays away from that girl. Uranus reverted to Amara, and simply told the Sailor Scouts to protect Rini, leaving the girls with so many questions. Amara drove off, and the Sailor Scouts went to Rini.

"Hey, Rini." Sailor Mercury said. "I really hope you can become good friends with Hotaru someday."

"Don't worry too much about it, Rini." Sailor Moon said. "We all know Hotaru's a good person. I know you care about each other, and have a genuine friendship, so I'll go see her father, okay?"

Rini thanked her friends, and they talked and giggled into the night.
