Sailor Moon Episode 118

Episode title: Darkness, my old Friend

Deep inside Mistress Nine, Hotaru's voice called out to Rini. Her voice faded away, and Mistress Nine laughed.

"Hotaru!" Shouted Sailor Moon.

"There's no point!" Uranus shouted. "She's not Hotaru anymore!"

Mistress Nine laughed as she looked into the dome-like portal, awaiting Master Pharoah Ninety's arrival. She told the Sailor Scouts that as soon as she had the Purity Chalice, she could bring forth Master Pharoah Ninety. Sailors Uranus and Neptune powered up.

"WORLD SHAKING!"

"DEEP SUBMERGE!"

The energy spheres containing the powers of Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune sped towards Mistress Nine, and joined together to increase their powers. Suddenly, Sailor Moon jumped in front of the sphere, and was smashed hard. She was sent flying back, and hit Mistress Nine, then fell to the ground. Mistress Nine seemed untouched by Sailor Moon.

"Why thank you." Mistress Nine said to Sailor Moon. She powered up, and the door behind Uranus and Neptune disappeared. Mistress Nine's hair suddenly reached out from the darkness, and caught the two Outer Sailors. Mistress Nine trapped them in the sides of a statue. The statue was the likeness of a woman holding a large scythe-like weapon in one hand, and her other hand was to hold something above her head.

"You better give me the Purity Chalice Sailor Moon, or start saying goodbye to your pals!" Mistress Nine said. "I can't decide which one to get rid of first."

Sailor Moon stood up and faced Mistress Nine. Sailor Uranus yelled at Sailor Moon in terror, as she realized what was about to happen. Sailor Moon held out her hands, and a white ball of light started forming. Before anything else could happen, Dr. Tomo limped in slowly, and the ball of light disappeared. Tomo limped slowly to Mistress Nine.

"It's... my... fault... that... you..." Tomo said slowly through a weakened body.

"How sad." Mistress Nine said, looking heartlessly at Hotaru's father. "You're back to your old self. If Jermatoid [The monster inside him? -§]has no use for you, niether do I!"

With that, Mistress Nine flung Dr. Tomo across the room. He landed with a quiet thud. Mistress Nine picked him up off the ground with her hair, wrapping it around his neck. Sailor Moon cried and pleaded with Mistress Nine to stop.

Outside, the Sailor Scouts began to get apprehensive as the dome around the remains of Mugen School kept expanding. The Daimon monsters kept leaping out at the Sailor Scouts, trying to bite them, but couldn't reach quite yet. The Sailor Scouts kept their guard up.

In the Omega Zone, Mistress Nine continued to strangle Dr. Tomo. He managed to squeeze Hotaru's name out of his constricted throat.

"Daddy!" Called Hotaru. The Sailors gasped in shock. Hotaru called out again, and Mistress Nine suddenly felt very weak. She fell to her knees gasping for air. Sailor Moon watched intently for Hotaru to appear.

"Finish her off now, Sailor Moon!" Sailor Uranus yelled.

"No!" Sailor Moon shouted back. "Listen! Hotaru is still alive!"

"No she isn't! It's a trick!" Sailor Neptune yelled.

"Hotaru, how can I help you return?" Tomo asked weakly, as he crawled to Mistress Nine. Both said, "The Purity Chalice."

"Yes." She said. "The Purity Chalice. Without, I can't..." Suddenly, she moaned and felt even more weak. Sailor Moon watched quietly, her compassion growing stronger within her. Suddenly, Hotaru's consciousness awoke inside Mistress Nine, and she screamed in pain. She turned to face the portal as her body shook violently. Sailor Moon's heart snapped. She held her hands out in front of her, and the same ball of light formed. Much to the objections of Neptune and Uranus, the Purity Chalice appeared. Sailor Moon walked to Tomo and handed him the Chalice.

"Thank you." Tomo said with a smile. Sailor Moon smiled back. Tomo limped towards Mistress Nine, chalice in hand, and handed it to Mistress Nine. Suddenly, Mistress Nine's head shot up, and in a violent blast of energy, rose it above her head. Dr. Tomo was sent flying like a projectile into the darkness of the room. Sailor Moon was knocked backwards, and landed a few feet back from where she once stood.

"Sailor Moon!" Mistress Nine said smugly. "After I see Pharoah Ninety, who will reward you by allowing you to survive, only you'll be a shell for us instead."

"Hotaru! You can hear me, can't you!" Sailor Moon called.

"Don't waste your time, it's too late!" Mistress Nine said, smirking. She was able to suppress Hotaru's consciousness.

"I'll never allow you to take Hotaru!" Sailor Moon shouted. "And I won't let this world fall into your evil hands either!"

"You better give up!" Mistress Nine replied. "You're dreaming if you believe what you say, Sailor Moon! You can't possibly defeat us, now that we have this missing link. As you know, this Purity Chalice happens to be the Crystal of the purest heart in existance now. The only way to defeat Pharoah Ninety, once he has possession of the Purity Chalice, is to produce a heart of greater purity! The odds are definitely against you."

Mistress Nine looked at the device Tomo had prepared for her earlier. It was a glass cylinder, closed at the top and bottom, large enough to house the Purity Chalice. Mistress Nine shoved her hand through the glass, and using her powers, the glass did not break. There was a sudden eruption of power as the Purity Chalice's energies were activated. Outside, the Sailor Scouts were being attacked by the Daimon monster shield as it loomed closer and closer to him. Suddenly, a beam of black energy shot out from the star opening on the top of the dome, ripping the skyscraper-like Mugen school to pieces. Each of the Sailor Scouts struggled as the Daimon monsters bit them, and hit them.

Inside, the portal to Pharoah Ninety was glowing bright pink, and Mistress Nine smiled as she witnessed it all. The dome started to slowly expand, and the Purity Chalice, housed in its glass prison, was destroyed. Energy beams erupted from the dome as Pharoah Ninety loomed closer and closer to its destination.

"Look what you did! Your ideals guarantee the world is going to be destroyed, Sailor Moon!" Shouted Uranus. Sailor Moon offered no answer, and raised her Spiral Moon Heart Scepter.

"MOON COSMIC POWER!"

Energy shot out of her wand, and into the dome. Mistress Nine looked at it calmly. Sailor Moon's beam hit Pharoah Ninety, but the energy was simply deflected. Pharoah Ninety was a huge, black orb, with a large red light, supposedly for an eye. Tentacles stretched out from its body, and it offered no words as this small energy hit it. It shot the weakest beam of energy it had back at Sailor Moon. Its power overwhelmed the Spiral Moon Heart Scepter, and knocked Sailor Moon backwards. Her scepter flew into the shadows.

Mistress Nine looked on smugly. "Now that you can't turn into Super Sailor Moon, there's no way you can stop the imending doom." She said. As she was talking, the dome suddenly expanded, sending an eruption of energy at Mistress Nine. Mistress Nine shrieked in pain, and was sent flying across the room. Uranus was lucky, as the blast missed her by mere inches. When the blast had disappeared, Sailor Moon stood shielding Dr. Tomo, who was cradling Mistress Nine. Sailor Moon fell to her knees. Outside, the eruptions of energy shot through the sky in all directions.

Suddenly, a huge sphere of energy formed at the top of the skyscraper. The dark energy began to enlarge itself, and the Sailor Scouts lost their barrier of energy, being taken upwards as a black tornado ripped through the earth around the building. In seconds, they were rendered unconscious, and a large dome appeared in place of the Mugen School. Inside, Dr. Tomo cradled his fallen daughter. Hotaru's consciousness was able to emerge once again, and Tomo held his daughter tightly. He and Hotaru talked about saving Rini. Tomo wished they could go back to the days when they were happy. He cried softly as he remembered playing with Hotaru, helping her when she cried, and even carrying his sleeping daughter home. He held Mistress Nine's hand tighter, and Hotaru's consciousness suddenly sprang to life.

"Daddy?" Mistress Nine, who was Hotaru, said. The Sailor Scouts looked in awe.

"Hotaru..." Tomo sobbed softly. Suddenly, Mistress Nine was able to emerge, and blasted Tomo away from her.

"Leave me alone!" She shouted. "I don't need you! Now, leave me alone, Hotaru!" She started gasping hard as she was weakened. "You're completely... completely worthless to us! I won't share this body! You're no longer needed!" The black energy dome continued to expand.

"Remove yourself!" Mistress Nine shouted.

"No! I won't do it!" Was Hotaru's reply. Mistress Nine struggled, and the black star reappeared on her forehead. "I've got people I care about!" Hotaru said. Suddenly, the black star on Mistress Nine's forehead shattered, leaving behind the most curious sight anyone had ever seen. It was the symbol of Saturn, the Sailor of Destruction. From the symbol, Mistress Nine's body was ripped to nothing. The symbol disappeared as well.

Meanwhile, Darien continued to lend his life force to Rini. He looked up when an apparition appeared. Luna and Artemis came in, and looked on.

"Don't worry." The apparition said. "You'll be fine now, Rini." The ghost went to the bed, and handed Rini's Heart Crystal back. The Crystal descended back into its owner's body. Rini stirred a bit, as her body came back to life.

"Sailor Saturn?" Artemis said in wonder.

"Thank you, my friend Rini." The apparition said. "Thank you." With that, it was gone.

Meanwhile, Pharoah Ninety continued its attempt to enter the Omega Zone, its passageway into Earth. As Pharoah Ninety entered the portal, the black dome that it was increased in size exponentially every second.

"There's no way to stop this deafening silence now." Uranus said hopelessly. Pharoah Ninety's spherical body erupted through the portal suddenly, reducing what remained of the Mugen School to nothing. Pharoah Ninety's body, or at least most of it, sat outside in the middle of Tokyo. Because of the explosion, the statue imprisoning Neptune and Uranus broke into pieces and crumbled, as did the floor beneath Tomo and Sailor Moon.

Sailor Moon was the first to emerge from the rubble. From where she was, she wasn't too far from Pharoah Ninety itself.

"After all we did to try and save this world, and now it's all over." Uranus said.

"It's the end." Neptune sobbed, nursing a wound.

Uranus shouted out. "Sailor Moon, are you happy now? Answer me!" She fell to her knees.

"Sailor Moon." A voice said. Sailor Moon looked up and saw a form descending between her and Pharoah Ninety. It was Sailor Saturn. "I know it was you who prevented me from getting hurt." Saturn said. She thanked Sailor Moon. Uranus and Neptune looked on quietly. Sailor Moon called for Hotaru, as did Tomo, who awoke in the wreckage nearby.

"I'm sorry, I am no longer Hotaru." Saturn said. "But I'm the one person alive who can save the world from destruction. Believe in me."

"Wait! Let me help you!" Sailor Moon pleaded.

"No." Saturn replied. "To destroy Pharoah Ninety, I must get to the heart of its core, and destroy it while I'm still inside. You, as Super Sailor Moon could have helped. You did the right thing, giving up your powers to save me. It's impossible for you to even get near Pharoah Ninety. This is the only way, but I am glad to do it."

"But what will happen to you once you terminate Pharoah Ninety?" Sailor Moon asked.

"They call me the Sailor Scout of Destruction only because I possess powers that can destroy a planet." Sailor Saturn replied. "They fear me, but once I use my powers, I will be destroyed." Sailor Saturn raised her hand into the air, and a large glaive appeared.

"No!" Sailor Moon yelled. She ran to stop Sailor Saturn, but Sailor Saturn stopped her, by pointing her glaive into Sailor Moon's face.

"Goodbye." Saturn said. "Thank you." With that, she jumped high and right inside Pharoah Ninety. Sailor Moon watched with tears in her eyes as the energies of Saturn and the Pharoah clashed. Saturn used her glaive to slash and tear Pharoah Ninety from the inside. Sailor Moon tried over and over to use her Moon Crisis transformation, but nothing happened. As Sailor Saturn continued to rip apart Pharoah Ninety's core, Sailor Moon pounded her fist on the ground, still trying to transform. Then, each of the Sailor Scouts envoked their energies, and lent them to Sailor Moon. Neptune and Uranus envoked theirs also, and lent them to Sailor Moon's power.

"MOON CRISIS POWER!"

Without the Chalice, Sailor Moon was able to transform into Super Sailor Moon. However, to invoke the power, her Heart Crystal came out, and floated right in front of her transformation brooch. Using a piercing barrier of energy to surround her body, Sailor Moon flew into Pharoah Ninety and accompanied Saturn in tearing the being's core to shreds. With the process sped up, Pharoah Ninety's body and energies started to collapse, and in mere moments, the black tornado was gone, as was the dome. The crater left behind was filled up with water quietly in the sunlight. Uranus and Neptune looked at the crater.

"Is she real Sovereign?" Uranus wondered. They both looked up as small specks of light started forming. Each of the Sailor Scouts recovered themselves, and looked at the bright display. With the energy of small butterflies evoked by her powers, Sailor Moon appeared, holding a small baby in her arms.
