NIPPON KEMPO'S JAPANESE BOXING

KERI-WAZA
FOOT TECHNIQUES

From ancient times Keri has been thought of as the most effective fightinh method, because it is far stronger and longer than an arm power.
You have to smoothly be able to move the center of your weight and waist in order to use a right or left kick as the occasion demands.
However if your foot gets scooped and caught, the tide will turn against you, so practice and study of how to draw your kicking foot is important.

KINDS OF KERI:

1) AGE-KERI is the method of pulling your toe to knee than kicking up.

2) TSUKI-KERI is the metod of holding your knee up high under your arm, than thrusting straight with your leg and kick.

3) MAWASHI-KERI is the method of drawing the inner circle by your foot from outside to form a kick.

4) USHIRO-KERI is the method of making use of the spin of your body to kick.

5) FUMI-KERI is the method of kicking down at your opponent when he has fallen down.

6) YOKO-KERI is the method of side kick.

7) USHIRO MAWASHI-KERI is the method of body turn kick.
