"Rose!"
Azerus leans against a doorpost and gestures for you to enter the room. You've just passed through a room full of glass coffins, and although this room is similar, it contains only one coffin. As you watch, a Mystic materializes in front of the coffin. She's a woman with short brown hair, and both her dress and her hair are covered with white roses.
"Princess White Rose," Azerus says by means of an introduction. "She knows everything about everything here in Facinaturu; she was the one in charge of teaching Lord Asellus how to be a Mystic. White Rose, there's another human here to see you."
Princess White Rose smiles and curtseys. "Pleased to meet you. There are many different Mystics; first, the Four Lords. Then there are the Mystics who dwell here in Facinaturu, and then there are the Mystics who have made their homes elsewhere. And of course, most important of all, Lord Asellus. Whom do you wish me to tell you about?"
Asellus

Possibly the most powerful of all Mystics, her human blood can be considered an advantage despite what most of the other Mystics think. A young girl from Shrike who lived with her Aunt and watched after the neighbor's kid named Red, Asellus was on an errand for her aunt when she was run over by a carraige. Although she was presumed dead, she awoke ten years later in a strange castle called Chateau Aiguille. Dazed and confused, she wandered the castle until she was stabbed in the back by a Mystic named Ciato and bled purple blood. The blue blood of the Mystic Charm Lord Orlouge and her own human blood had combined to resurrect her as a Half-Mystic, the first of her kind and heir to Orlouge's empire. Her two guardians, Princess White Rose and Lord Ildon, as well as the tailor's apprentice, a girl named Gina from the town at the base of the castle, seemed to be her only allies in this strange place called Facinaturu. With the aid of Princess White Rose and a human pilot, Asellus fled from Facinaturu through an underground tunnel, only to find that the people she had known now shunned and feared her. Meanwhile, Lord Orlouge wouldn't allow her to steal one of his princesses that easily, and Asellus soon learned that she would have to fight to keep her freedom. Asellus and White Rose were bombarded by Mystic after Mystic, until finally White Rose was taken and Asellus prepared to face off against the Charm Lord himself...
The Four Lords

Orlouge, Charm Lord
Orlouge was the Charm Lord, Lord of Facinaturu and all Mystics, before Asellus defeated him in battle. He had many princesses, most notably Princess White Rose, Princess Lion, and Princess Rei, whom he kept in glass coffins. It was his carriage that ran over Asellus, and his blood that made her a Half-Mystic.
Virgil, Ring Lord
This mysterious woman usually stays in her palace in Mosperiburg and isn’t often seen by the Mystics of Facinaturu. The keeper of the Lord Ring, she is invulnerable in battle and enjoys watching humans or other races attempt to defeat her. If their attacks are impressive enough, she will occasionally let them live.
Time Lord
Not much is known about this man. Although he claims to be a mystic, he fights like a human. He dwells in his own region of space, where he collects different types of monsters and places them around a giant clock. Any human wishing to gain the gift of Time magic must defeat him in battle. Lord Virgil will often teleport any human who does not offend her to his region.
Honorary Mystic Kylin, Space Lord
The current Space Lord is not a true mystic, but a monster; however, as one of the four Lords, he has been grudgingly accepted by Lord Orlouge as an honorary Mystic. He is the only being with the gift of Space magic and has created his own region known as Paradise. Princess Rei has been known to guide humans seeking to learn Space Magic to his region.
Mystics of Facinaturu

Princess White Rose
Known as the kindest of Orlouge’s three major princesses, she knows everything there is to know about the Mystics of Facinaturu. She was the one who taught Asellus how to live as a Mystic, and was imprisoned in the Dark Labyrinth for choosing Asellus over Lord Orlouge.
Princess Lion
She is known as the bravest of Orlouge’s princesses. Although she never mastered Mystic magic, she is an expert with her sword, the Golden Lion, one of the strongest swords in the regions. Although impressed by Asellus’s fighting skills, this princess is loyal to Lord Orlouge to the end.
Princess Rei
The third princess, for a long time it was forbidden to speak of her. The only Mystic with the gift of Mirage magic, she was unsatisfied with life in Facinaturu. She committed suicide and was reborn in a human body. She can be found by the shrine at Devin.
Ildon
An expert warrior, Lord Ildon decided he would serve Orlouge better by teaching other Mystics how to fight than by fighting for him as Princess Lion did. Although he will often lecture Asellus about her fighting style, he is loyal to her despite his reluctance to disobey Lord Orlouge.
Zozma
A rouge Mystic, he has been banished from Facinaturu; however, no Mystic but Lord Orlouge could keep him from teleporting into Chateau Aiguille. Seeing potential in Asellus, he attempted to speak to her when she first arrived in Facinaturu, but her short temper offended him and he vanished. Despite this, he joined her later on as a powerful ally.
Rastaban
This Mystic saw Asellus’s potential early on, and realized that, one way or another, she would change things in Facinaturu. Although Ildon evidently once knew him well, his recent behavior had everyone confused, particularly when he kidnapped a village girl from Rootville and imprisoned her in the body of a Griffin. Although he will not directly disobey Lord Orlouge, he can prove a powerful ally to Asellus, or a dangerous enemy.
Ciato
Ever since he stabbed Asellus in the back when she first arrived in Facinaturu, the two of them haven’t gotten along very well. The three knights he sent after her didn’t help much. Ciato is loyal to Lord Orlouge, and has taken a severe dislike to Asellus. He helped her escape from Facinaturu, but that was more out of wanting her out of the way than anything else.
Gozarus
A minor—very minor—Mystic who dwells in Rootville, he owns a small shop where he exchanges items for lives. He sells the sword Asura, the amulet Tao-Tieh Pattern, the armor Shade Robe, and the item Sand Vessel. Although he refused to speak to Asellus at first out of jealousy, Princess White Rose convinced him to deal with her.
Other Mystics

Dr. Nusakan
Commonly believed to be insane, this Mystic runs a clinic in the backstreet of Koorong. He is a high-level Mystic, and his reasons for leaving Facinaturu are unknown.
Mesarthim
One of the Water Mystics dwelling near Owmi, she was caught by the previous Lord of Owmi. He claimed to have fallen in love with her and held her captive in his mansion until Asellus and White Rose set her free. She will gladly serve any Mystic.
Silence
This Mystic was on a mission to find a criminal in the shadow region, Omble, but his information was false and he ended up trapped in Omble. He will aid anyone who can free him.
Lord of Owmi
When the previous, human lord of Owmi left his mansion, this minor Mystic assumed human form and took over. Although he possesses little power in his own right, he has learned of all the hidden passages, trapdoors and monsters located in the Lord’s mansion. He has also purchased the Schemer’s Ring from a shop in Manhattan. Please note that he is not one of the four Mystic Lords; his title only applies in the human world.
Arachne
Located in Manhattan, this Mystic has assumed a human disguise. Known as Cindy Campbell, president of a Manhattan business run from the C.T.C. building, she is believed to be involved with a human group called Black X.
Furdo
Not much is known of this Mystic. He has created a workshop in the Magic Kingdom, and will eagerly attack anyone who finds him. He is believed to be useless as a Mystic and is generally left alone.
Mollasite
A low-level Mystic, it survives by possessing humans. It is believed to have been destroyed, as it has not been sighted recently; last sighting was in the home of a millionaire in Yorkland.
"Although there are other Mystics, they are very minor; you are likely to encounter them in almost any city," Princess White Rose finishes.
"Thank you, White Rose," Azerus says with a smile, then turns to you. "Okay, where to now?"
