Majin Buu attacked Kaioshins planet with him as the only survivor. Later Majin slaves appeared at a Tenkaichi Budokai. They where gathering energy to have Majin Buu reborn. Vegeta found out that he could become strong enought to defeat Goku if he became a slave, and it just so happens that on that particular day Goku was granted 24 hours to stay on earth with his family and friends. So Babida sweet talks Vegeta into becoming Majin Vegeta, then he fights Goku. After Vegeta goes Majin there was enough energy to give rebirth to Majin Buu.
