She lives with her parents and is the only child in the family (probably that explains why she acts like a spoiled brat).
As one of the Magic Knights, she is skilled in fighting with her Escudo rapier, since Umi excels in fencing and she is in her school's fencing team.
Her magic belongs to the element of water and it can be used both offensively and defensively. "Water Dragon", "Blue Hurricane" and "Ice Sword" are her spells that can devastate the enemies.
Although Umi acts like a spoiled and selfish snob, she can be quite caring toward her friends. She is willing to do anything to help her comrades and to protect them from danger. Umi is the only knight who has a big dislike toward Mokona. Frequently, she wants want to punch that marshmallow-like seiiyuu in the face or hit it with a mallet.
Umi's mashin is Selece, which takes form of a blue dragon with wings.
