Marion and Lucinda Dean (brother and sister) were studing an alien species (Gameon species) in the year 2691. That particular had the power of telekenesis and telepathy (but stronger on telekenesis). They were interested on how this was done (and wanted to see if humans could acomplish this also). They further investigated this and found that humans could do the same things but very few individuals over the years were able to. It seems that some individual humans had a biological inclination to preforming these feats and centered around an area of the brain that was dormant in most humans. With various new technology that helps enable brain dammaged people they find a new use for it and use it to activate that area of their brain. They find that it is hard to control because they have no prior experience with these new found powers. Doing more research they find a correlation with people with hightened mental (telekenesis or telepathy) abilities live longer than the average human but suffer more mental problems. A study is done and concludes that the insanity rate goes up with age....... They carefully document all that has become of them and gradually learn to do more and more things. One of the abilities that they gain is to have better control of their own body (they age less than the average person.
In the year 2733 they in league with Professor Tomoe (Tetsuo) formulate a plan to convert a human being into an entity that is both non coporeal and coporeal at the same time. This is based on the conversion of the Nayburs of the planet Vecino over a milenia ago. The Nayburs were a race of humanoids (not unlike the Terran species) that endevored to be freed of their bodies but still maintain the qualities that they possessed. The Nayburs had developed tremendous mental powers but found that with age that they grew more and more unstable mentally. Freed of their fragile brain, they could not injure their minds by the wear and tear of age. The documentation of how that was accomplished was lost but the three scientists still sought to do this procedure.
In 2737 they had gathered enough evidence of the procedure to formulate a hypothesis on how it was preformed. Professor Tomoe with the monitary backing of the government of Europe Sector gamma 2 (currently Germany) builds the device set to preform the deed. Since Marion Dean is the most unstable, he volunteers for the experiment. The experiment is a success and Marion is turned into a dual exsistance being. His consciousness and personality is still there but his body was destroyed in the process. He is more open to the wonders of exsistance. He expores the universe and finds that it is not a universe at all but a multi-verse. There are many universes existing at the same time all interconnecting and starting at one point. Marion and Lucinda visit that point and find that there is no time or space (just a white void). They name this place Axis and leave back to Neo Tokyo ( Asia Sector Beta 12 ) where Professor Tomoe has his lab. The next logical thing to do is have another conversion. Professor Tomoe volunteers but something goes wrong. It starts a chain reaction and the universe is destroyed. Marion and Lucinda manage to escape to an alternate universe. An investigation concludes that the process is QUITE unstable and they were lucky that they didn't destroy the multi-verse. The Nayburs purposly had destroyed their work so others could not attempt that same process (their universe was destroyed but their planet had been phased to our universe). Marion concluded that all evidence of the experiment must be found and gotten rid of . They have no real place to go so they set up a base of sorts at Axis. Marion becomes a tutor for Lucinda on how to better control herself and gets to the point where she is at a level next to Marion. Eventually she dies from traveling so much at the age of 138 (remember, Axis in this period had no time). He is alone and seeks another to train and guide them in their powers. Marion finds Hyuan, an Ubanorian who has a strong power but does not know how to control it. After that he (Marion) recruits Alra, a human and finds it difficult to devote the proper attention to both so he asexually reproduces forming a new being like himself. I suppose this is kinda the begining of the Prismatics, huh?
