Hi, my name is Kathleen Reed and I am a 1st kyu (brown belt) in shotokan karate. I train at the Pacific Rim Shotokan Karate club in Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada. I am 18 years old. I have been studying Shotokan for close to five years now. My favorite kata is Kanku Dai. I have also tried Shito-ryu karate, and Tae Kwon Do, but have stuck to Shotokan. Although it is not a part of Shotokan, I also like to study the bo in my free time. My favorite bo kata is shushi no kon dai.
