Shotokan Karate-Do

Shotokan karate is a Japanese system of unarmed self defense, in which an enemy attacking by surprise can be controlled by a demonstration of power and speed. Literally translated "Karate-Do" means "empty hand way". Karate practice includes self defense, physical fitness, sport competition, and above all character building.

Karate training is an excellent form of physical and mental exercise for improving and maintaining health for all ages. It develops co-ordination, balance, strength, and promotes uniform muscle development. Few modern physical leisure activities provide the combination of attributes that one can develop through regular karate training.
