Our Sailor Moon
The Sailor Moon transmitted in Peru (Mexican Version aka Latinamerican Version) has little diferences with the Japanese one (Unlike the US Version aka DIC Version). So here I'll tell you some trivia about this Version of Sailormoon.
The Inner Senshi, Tuxedo Kamen, friends and foes of Sailormoon and Sailormoon R use the DIC (US) names.
- They all have their Japanese family names unchanged expect for Ail & Ann, who are called the "Alpha siblings".
- Some attacks' translations aren't literal.
- The story line is the same. No episode was "lost" aka censored. (unlike the DIC Version)
- The Dark Kingdom is called Negaverse and there's no mention the name of the chief entity, Metallia. It's just called "Negaforce"
- Zoisite is called Ziosite (Why? Mistery) and is a woman. Probably to avoid showing the gay relationship he(she) has with Kunzite/Malachite.
- The Inner Senshi &
Sailor Starlights are called Sailor Scouts. (The Outers are "Sailor Guerreras" -sailor warriors-)
- Mamoru has three voice actors: One in Sailormoon, anoother in Sailormoon R and a last one on the rest of the series.
- Usagi's voice is quite annoying. (I've heard complains)
- There is a bazaar naming of Usagi's Princess Persona. When first discovered as the Moon Princess they call her Princess Serena. But sometimes in SMR they call her Princess Serenity. Her past life mother IS called Queen Serenity. In the future they do call her Neo-Queen Serena (but supossely there wasn't a FORMER Queen Serena...)
- In SMR Rei calls "Rini" by her Japanese name "Chibi-Usa" twice.
Chibi-Usa once calls Pluto "Rina". (?)
- Sailor Pluto is called Sailor Plut. (Disney has something to do about it-- Apparently some people can copyright a Planet's Name)
- Haruka's voice changes when she's Sailor Uranus. It's the same voice actrees but as Haruka her voice is more maaculine and as Sailor Uranus more feminine.
- Fisheye has a girl's voice. Though, you can see he is male for a scene when he is without a shirt. His voice is more masculine when he isn't disguised.
- Helios is called Eliot. (?)
- The Starlights and Three Lights have completely different voice actors (women for Sailor Starlight and men for the band).
- In Japanese, the names
of the Three Lights are actually Kou but are called by their family names. Here their last names & first names are twisted. (They are called Seiya Kou, Yaten Kou and Taiki Kou, as if they were brothers.)
- Luna's voice changes in SailorStars.
- Naru has the same voice than Hotaru.
- There is only one opening & ending song, but the sequences change as in the Japanese Version. All the other songs are kept in Japanese, except for "Maboroshi Ginzuishou" (Mysterious Silver Crystal) which is translated in ep. 34.
- In episode 200 (The Finale) "The Sailor Star Song" that is sang as background in the "Usagi saves the day" scene has no words, unlike the original version.
