***NOTE*** Life Chisel has been errata to be a phase cost and can only be used once per turn. This has cut many combos down and out.
***Note*** Quirion Ranger may be used in place of a 0 casting cost creature if it leaves play and returns, but you will need Fastbond and some means of damage prevention. Flooded Shoreline and Enduring Renewal infinite combos can use the Quirion Ranger.
With Strom Cauldron in play you tap a land for mana, and the land is put into our hand. Put in back in play using Fastbond. Repeat until you have desired amount of mana.
Glacial Chasm will stop all damage done by Fastbond.
Reverse Damage will cause previous damage from one source, Fast Bond, during this turn to be converted to life.
Circle of Protection: Green + Land producing 2 or more mana.
*This combo caused the restriction of Fastbond.
Activate Flooded Shoreline by tapping 2 islands then unsummon those islands to unsummon one of your 0 casting cost. Recast the creature and replay the islands using Fastbond. Repeat.
*Provides infinite damage: need Glacial Cahsm or Reverse Damage or Mana Flare with X spell that gives life (Stream of Life) to survive.
Tap to turn Ovinomancer into a sheep, this will unsummon him and cause his effect to fizzle (sorry no sheep token). Then cast Ovinomancer, this will unsummon 3 basic lands. Replay the lands using Fastbond. Ovinomancer can use his abilty thanks to Concordant Crossroads. Repeat until bored.
*Provides infinite damage: need Glacial Cahsm or Reverse Damage or Mana Flare with X spell that gives life (Stream of Life) to survive.
Sacrifice Ivory Gargoyle to Ashnod's Altar. When it returns to play sacrifice it again. Unfortunatly you lose a draw phase with each rotation.
Every other time you sacrifice Ivory Gargoyle you can pay for Inheritence triggered effect of drawing a card - Not infinite, but you can draw your all of your deck (add Library of Leng or Anvil of Bogardan to keep cards for more than 1 turn)
With 2 Soul Nets you can gain infinite life.
Activate Sacred Mesa. The sacrifice the generated token to Ashnod's Altar to make 2 mana. Convert 1 mana to White. Repeat. Asmira, Holy Avenger, Khabal Ghoul will become infinitely.
When it is not your turn Vibrating Sphere makes all your creatures 0/-2 killing Ivory Gargoyle. At end of turn the Gargoyle will return to play, die, return to play, and die infinitely. The end result being you loss all draw phases for the rest of the game and Asmira and Khabal Ghoul will be infinite in size.
The paralyzed druid can untap during upkeep phase with 4 mana, the druid can tap to untap a land which can produce 5 mana or more, use four of which to untap druid, repeat until happy.
*Add Ice Cauldron to be able to use the mana to cast a X Sorcery (i.e. Stream of Life or Fireball).
*Add Paralyzed Bird of Paradise will give infinite mana of any color.
*Will not be banned. Featured in Ice Age #4 to end the Ice Age on Dominaria.
Attack with druid, untap druid with Maze, tap druid to untap Maze, as Maze does not remove the druid as an attacker - the druid may be untapped by maze and the maze by druid... until happy.
* Please note that the druid only needs to be declared an attacker once as Maze does not remove it as an attacker it only untaps and reduces all damage to zero.
*1st and 2nd edition Wild Growth could provide infinite mana if Wizards of the Coast didn't pass errata saying wild growth will provide mana only if land is tapped for mana.
*Having a Seizures on the druid or Psychic Venom on Maze can provide infinite life with Reverse Damage, but beware a counterspell and you take infinite damage.
Cast Animate Artifact on the Candelabra of Tawnos. Attack with Candelabra and untap it with Maze of Ith (the Candelabra is still an attacker for the same reasons as the Ley Druid above). Tap a land which provides at least two mana. Use the 2 mana to untap that land and Maze of Ith by using the Candelabra's special ability. Tap Maze to Untap Candelabra. Repeat. Will provide the same effects as the Ley druid in previous examples. If the land produces more than 2 mana, you can gain infinite mana to use with fast effects or to store on Ice Cauldron.
By some means make 1 blue Norritt, tap Norritt to untap target blue creature which should be the same blue Norritt. A blue Norritt is capable of continual tapping himself to untap himself. Sleight of Minding Norritt to untap black creatures will do the same thing. Any means attached to Norritt to cause an additional affect would be infinite i.e. Seizures infinite damage until Reverse Damage to infinite life.
Will also work by casting Sleight of Mind on Norritt instead.
Sacrifice one creature, it is sent to hand as part of Enduring Renewal and recast it the same turn because of creature's low casting cost.
Infinite Mana: ornithopter, rotothopter or kobold with Ashnod's Altar.
Infinite Creature: ornithopter or kobold with Fallen Angle.
Infinite Life: Stone Calendar x2 (or 3) and Onulet and Ashnod's Altar.
Stone Calendar will allow more creatures to perform this loop.
* Yes this is still legal, and no change in sight oh well. Know of any good type 1 multi-player chaos tournaments?
By means of using a creature not does not tap when using an ability can produce an infinite cycle of damage and gaining life by means of Channeling away life gained by Spirit Links on that creature. This may need a means to change colorless mana into color mana (Initiate of Ebon Hand, Farrelite Priest (with Sunglasses of Urza (Sleight of Minded))). Example: Wormwood Treefolk with 4 Spirit Links on it will do 2 damage when you play to black or green mana, when paid you gain 2 life (+4 from spirits -2 from wormwood). Channel away that life and send it through an Initiate of Ebon Hand to get 2 black and repeat. A fifth Spirit Link would give infinite mana/life.
*They skipped the errata on this one and banned it.
During your upkeep you need an untapped paralyzed Hell's Caretaker, one Shu-Chi in play and one Shu-Chi in the grave. Sacrifice the Shu-Chi in play to Hell's Caretaker to bring the Shu-Chi already in the graveyard into play. This generates 4 mana as the Shu-Chi goes into the grave. Use the mana to activate paralyze and untap Hell's Caretaker. Repeat. This will cause infinite tapping/untapping and infinite creature death. Using this with Khabal Ghoul to make an infinite creature or you can gain infinite life/damage with Seizures and Reverse Damage.
Using Thought Lash or Demonic Consultation to remove your library from game. Cast Time Walk, use Soldevi Digger to put it at the bottom of your library (which is now the only card in your library). Take your extra turn and draw Time Walk. Cast Time Walk, digger it into library, repeat. Including any determent to opponent to have it deal infinite damage to opponent or Millstone opponent to no cards then Ancesstrall them. *This may be the final straw to ban Time Walk. I hope not. Possible fix, if any, is to have Soldevi Digger fail to work on an empty Library as there is no bottom of nothing.
Eater of the Dead
The recent change in the rules having Do A, Do B effects have the Do A become a cost has made Eater of the Dead a prime Infinite combo card. All by his little lonesome, a tapped Eater can remove all creatures from all graveyards as removing the creatures is now the cost. Erratta on erratta has returned Eater to it's original problem, but it's better than infinite combos using Krovikan Plague and Veteran's Voice.
Nether Shadow x4 (3rd edition) + Poly Sacrifice
Do to the wording of the revised (3rd) edition a nether shadow can return to play at any time during your upkeep if three creatures are above it, 4 of them can provide a infinite loop of sacrificing during the upkeep making infinite mana (Ashnod's Altar) or infinite/infinite creature (Fallen Angle).
* It still works in tournaments or during play if you don't go by lastest wording.
These combos were infinite if Life Chisel usable more than once per turn, but continue on as a complicated Channel.
Purgatory + Life Chisel + Rasputin Dreamweaver + Global Toughness booster Purgatory + Life Chisel + Sengir Autocrate + Ashnod's Altar Purgatory + Life Chisel + Su-ChiThey still provide loops to the extent that you have life and you use Ashnod's Altar for a larger mana supply during upkeep.
Rasputin Dreamweaver 5 mana per 2 life spent. Sengir Autocrate 4 mana for 2 life. Su-Chi provides 2 life for 2 mana exchange.Tap to go to Lord Archive's Home Page. Tap to go to Lord Archive's Magic Page.
