Rendezvous

Hill...

The night was cold and very dark, the stars shone bright up there in the sky, and the icy wind was dancing with his long lavender hair. There he was, up on a hill, away from home, away from Capsule Corporation.

Okasan.

How he missed her! He had been away for five years now, and he still missed her more than he thought he would. He missed talking to her, he missed helping her out in the office even though he hated watching nothing but numbers at times. He even missed the times he and his mother spent with the so called Prince Vegeta.

Otosan.

The night was perfect for remembrances of long lost moments. Yes! He missed them all. The wonderful memories he retained from his childhood and early teens would never vanish from his mind. The usual brother-sister fights with Bura. The sparring with Goten. The long chats with Gohan. The great banquets that Chi Chi usually gave. Son Goku! And of course, those eyes... Pan?

"Trunks! Hurry up! We’ll be late and the plane will leave without us!" A girl shouted as she approached to Trunks.

"Oh! I’m sorry Nagiko, I was thinking about home." Answered Trunks with a big smile.

"Well dear, if you keep thinking about that, we are going to miss that plane, and you will have to wait one more day to go back." She replied trying not to sound desperate to leave, for she wanted to leave so badly.

"You are right. And we don’t want to be late, do we?" Said Trunks realizing what time it was. "Let us go then." He, as a gentleman, offered his arm to Nagiko and they walked back to the dorm.

Taxi...

Trunks and Nagiko were now on a Taxi going towards the Airport. Both of them couldn’t hide their happiness. Both of them were leaving this place and forgetting the calamities from last year. Going to meet people that had their arms open to receive them.

Trunks took Nagiko’s hand in his and squeezed it tenderly. She looked right into his eyes and gave him one of the most beautiful smiles.

Plane...

The plane finally took off. And they were heading back home.

"Trunks ?" Nagiko asked softly. "Do you think it was wise for me to leave like this? Shouldn’t we have at least talked to your parents and told them we were going? In fact, I might as well go and visit my family a few days."

"Well Nagiko-chan, I don’t think you want to go and tell your parents about the incident, I’m sure they will ask you. And regarding my parents, I think I want to give my family and friends a big surprise." Answered Trunks smiling, and then fell into deep thought. Nagiko stared at him until he spoke again. "You know? I won’t let you visit your family in these conditions. I’m going to kidnap you and monopolize all your time."

She chuckled and laid her head on Trunks’ shoulder. "Perhaps you are right about not visiting my family. They’ll understand, besides, I did visit them last winter." And in no time she fell asleep.

It had been some year, she hardly got any sleep now, after that horrible event had happened. And it had been then when she found Trunks. And Trunks had found her too, though she didn’t know that. After that fateful day he became some sort of protector, he would never let her down; and he knew she would always stand up there for him as well. He was glad that he had convinced her to return home for the summer and take some holidays with him and his family.

Trunks was happy, very happy. Going back home. He had nothing in his mind but returning. In fact if he had had the chance, he surely would have flied to Capsule Corporation with his supersonic velocity, taking Nagiko with him, but she was so weak these days, and he didn’t want anything bad happen to her. So it was okay to wait another day if he had waited two years since the last visit.

Airport

The plane landed. Finally!!!.

"C’mon Trunks, we have to go through all that customs stuff. And I can’t wait to meet your family." Nagiko said very excited and Trunks only nodded following her.

After all the madness of arrivals and departures they were finally there. They knew exactly where to go, but there was a little problem, how the heck were they going ‘there’? Trunks had planned everything, but forgot that Nagiko was in no conditions to fly with him, and because of the summer, everyone was returning home and most of the comfortable cabs were taking. So he went to look for a telephone and called his mother at her private line.

"Hello? Bulma here, who is it?" Said Bulma as soon as she answered the phone.

"Errr. Hello there Okasan!" Answered Trunks shyly.

"Trunks? Is it really you? Oh my god!" She shouted. "I can’t believe it! It’s been two months since last we talked. And it was me who called you. Gee! I’m quite shocked, is the first time in years that you phone me! How are you son? How have you been? How is everything going? I’ve got plenty of things to tell you. But first I want to know how you are." She added.

Trunks laughed softly and then said : "Okasan! I am well, in fact I am at the airport and need you to send someone to pick me up."

"Trunks! How can you joke with your mother this way? If you are really here, why don’t you fly here to Capsule Corporation?" Bulma started to yell quite upset but Trunks didn’t let her finish.

"Okasan, I can’t fly there because I’m right now with a friend, she’s been very weak nowadays and I don’t want her to get hurt. I didn’t tell you I was coming because I wanted to give you and the rest of the family a surprise. And now that I am here I can’t find any taxis; the buses are more than packed and I don’t want to be uncomfortable. I am at Terminal C, could you please send someone to pick us up?"

"A friend? A lady friend? Why hadn’t you told me about her? Is she your girlfriend. Hey! I remember that you did talk about some Nagiko, didn’t you?" Questioned Bulma.

"Okasan, please! It will be better if we talk in person now that I am here, don’t you think? Can you send someone? Don’t make me take one of those buses." Remarked Trunks losing his patience.

"Oh yes son! But you have to understand your mother, I’m in a bit of a shock knowing that you are here. So, here’s the deal, I will send someone to pick you up, but they won’t take you directly to our place. As a matter of fact you were lucky to catch me, I was leaving for Chi Chi’s place, they are giving one of their usual dinners. And I want you to attend to it." Said Bulma.

"That’s okay with me. Besides I want everyone to meet Nagiko, and this seems like a perfect time."

"Well then my son. Bura’s going your way. I’ll see you in a few. I can’t wait to see you. I need to hang up now your father is waiting for me, everything before I leave?" Bulma finished.

"Yes okasan, I love you. And give a hug to otosan from me, I know he wouldn’t let me do that." Trunks chuckled. "I’ll see you at Chi Chi’s. Bye for now." He added and then hung up.

"Everything okay Trunks?" Asked Nagiko.

"Everything perfect Nagiko. You are minutes away from meeting my entire clan." He said delighted.

Capsule Corporation...

As soon as Trunks hung up Bulma phoned Bura and told her to go pick up Trunks at the Airport. Bura was jumping in excitement for she hadn’t seen her brother in two years now.

"That was Trunks." Bulma said to Vegeta as they left the building.

Vegeta only nodded and some kind of a smile hid behind his face, then he took her in his arms and took off. "Let’s go woman! You don’t want to be late, do you?"

"You’re right" She said holding tight from the Saiyajin Prince, secretly hugging him as a favor to their son. The wind tangled her hair, and she was more than glad to visit Chi Chi this time. Trunks was here. Bura was here too. Vegeta had come to pick her up and that was something he hadn’t done in months. She was contented.

Car...

It had been quite an explosive welcome that which Bura gave to Trunks. But what did he expected? Bura hadn’t seen him in years, and he was his big brother after all. He was still aching from those tight hugs, he forgot at times that she was half Saiyajin and that she was strong too, though she looked like a perfectly normal and helpless young woman. But now there were in the car, going directly to Chi Chi’s. He couldn’t wait to meet with Goten and spar a bit like in the old times and as he was driving, for he would never allow his sister to drive in his presence, he accelerated.

"So, Nagiko." Suddenly said Bura. "My brother did write me something about you in one of his letters. I am glad that you came visit us with him. You’ll love all the gang, I’m sure. So..." She grinned. "What are you guys into? Some serious relationship? Are you a couple?" She asked unable to hold back her curiosity.

Trunks and Nagiko laughed out loud, then Trunks asked. "Why does everyone have to ask that?"

Nagiko added. "Well Bura, let me tell you that right now your brother is the most important man in my life." Statement that made Trunks blush a bit.

"Wow! I didn’t know that!" Said Bura quite amused, somehow she knew those two had a very special relationship.

The trip continued nicely. Trunks and Bura were talking about all what they had done abroad and how they missed home and their friends. The time went fast.

Chi Chi’s...

They parked the car and got out. Walked to the door and just when they were about to knock on it, the door opened abruptly and Bulma jumped to Trunks with her arms wide open. He hugged him and kissed him for all the years he had been away.

Trunks was very confused, all these people had come from the house and were surrounding him with tight hugs, questions, pats on the shoulder, greetings, etc. After all the madness had cleared away, he made the necessary introductions, that is, he introduced Nagiko to the rest of the bunch.

Everything happened so fast. Trunks could barely remember what had happened the minute before he was talking to someone. He remembered Vegeta smiling to him, which was more than he expected otosan to do. He remembered Gohan and Videl asking how his studies had gone, in fact Gohan was very proud of him now that Trunks was finishing a second major. He also remembered Chi Chi giving him all the food he could eat, and Goten questioning him about Nagiko and telling him how he had been dumped by his last girlfriend. He remembered Maron, Kuririn, #18, Bura and his boyfriend telling him that they were glad having him bac. But Pan wasn’t there, she was there at the moment everyone greeted him at the door, but after he introduced Nagiko to the gang, she somehow had disappeared. Pan?. On the other hand, he hadn’t seen Nagiko after the introduction either, but he wasn’t worried for she must have been talking with Bulma, Chi Chi and Videl.

Everything was blurry now. He had been eating, talking, laughing and enjoying the evening so much. He felt as if he had never left this place.

Away from Trunks’ confusion, Nagiko was having a great time. She had talked to Bulma and told her ‘almost’ all about her life and deeds. She also had talked to Chi Chi and Videl who were very curious about her. She was intercepted by Goten who at some point started to flirt with her. She also had a chance to talk with Pan. Yes, Pan. She was very interested in Pan because all the things Trunks had said about her. And it was a shame that Pan had to leave so quickly, she had given Nagiko an excuse about having a previous appointment.

The evening ended had been wonderful, but now it was time to get some rest, so Nagiko and Trunks left early.
