Subject: MH: October 29, 1999 confirmed.

I called Miramax's office Monday, and confirmed with the secretary of the
VP of Publicity that the release date is now October 29th. The only
explanation she was able to give me had to do with production not being
finished yet. She wasn't able to explain what the reasons were, or what
exactly remained to be done, but did suggest that I could send a fax in to
the VP's office to find out more.

So there we are, officially October 29th!

Those of you, like me, who were hoping to see MH during your visit to
AX99, or to listen to the buzz about the film from among the attendants --
don't worry: I'm disappointed, too. ^_^

However, this does give us a few months of room between _Princess
Mononoke_ and _Phantom Menace_. Audiences will have time to recover, and
look around for something exciting to watch.

Note also that Miramax rescheduled the new _Crow_ movie from 10/1999 to
3/2000. Perhaps this was done to avoid splitting the audience between the
two films.

All in all, this suggests that Miramax is being careful, yet serious,
about the release of _Mononoke Hime_. We shouldn't give up hope!
