MANTRA: EXAMPLES


Om sunyata jnana vajra svabhako 'ham.


"I am of the waters of the Vajra through the initiation of Sunya."


Aham devi na canyosmi.


"I am the goddess, none else."


Hrim srim krim paramesvari svaha.


"Supreme goddess, substance of all mantras."


Om hum phat.

A mantra used for banning and exorcism, meditation on any of the Dhyani Buddhas, for worship of the Tantric goddess Kurakulla, and to prepare the mind for acceptance of voidness [sunyata].


Am hum phat.


Used in ritual sacrifice to Kali & Durgapuja.


Krim krim krim hum hum.


Generally used for magickal purposes, and for preparing the mind for one-ness with Kali.


Om am hum.


A mula [root] mantra for identification and propitation.


Om manipadme hum.


The arch-mantra of Tibet. Manipadme is simply a vocative of dakini.


Om picu picu prajna varhant.


For the purpose of acquiring intellectual acumen and rhetorical competence. It is to be pronounced with a glad heart, as one must be fiercly disposed with a fierce purpose, etc.


Om hum vajrange mama raksa phat svaha.


The mantra of Ekajata. She is secretively referred to as Bhotesu Raksita, 'preserved in Tibet', or 'rescued from Tibet'. She is said to have fallen from the sky, and was embalmed and hidden in a cave. Her mantra is to be pronounced slowly, preceeded by the mantra of body-mind-speech:


Kaya vak citta adhisthana mantra.
