Ah Guo's Birthday (1999)
Everyone has that special day is his/her life, for some people, it may be their wedding day, while for others (like those serving in NS), it may be their ORD date. Well, this was one of the special days in Ah Guo's life, i.e his 23rd birthday (somewhere around January, sorry, but I forgot the exact date), which was wasted spending with us, since we guys basically ate a hole through his pocket, while giving him crap for presents (check out the stupid football that he is holding in his hands). Anyway, this picture was taken at the Bedok North Food Centre in block 85, known for its "minced meat noodles", which doesn't taste as good now as last time, because the old lady who used to serve it has retired (it used to taste better when she was around because she er...added extra ingredients by puting her finger into the soup everytime she brought the noodles to you). Alfie's girlfriend (Claudia) took the photo for us, and thus, was not in it (stupid sentence). Also, special thanks to Ah Xing for scanning this photo for me (he was not there because he claims that his father has already cooked dinner, and thus, he was unable to join us, man, talk about lame excuses). Other people who were MIV (missing in action), includes Yiren (who slept at 6 pm!), and Ah Jin (who never return calls even thought we paged him 100+ times).

Alfie: The man who chose and bought the present (the stupid football). Anyway, his latest ambition is to become the world's best "Magic: The Gathering" card player, while at the same time, cheating innocent school kids of their money by selling them dumb cards. He even has his own namecard, and plans to open a shop in the near future (KEYWORD: future), selling cards and other hobbies stuff (in simple english, he just wants be a bum, hahahaha, just joking man).
Ji: Ji is the man who keeps the friendship between our group of friends. How??? Well, because he owns a car (without which no one will wanna come out. Yes, we are that practical and lazy)!!! All thanks to him for all the late nite supper and pool sessions, in which he still had to send everyone of us home in his car even when he was very tired. Affectionately called the "taxi-driver", he keeps a faithful watch over our "volatile" friendship with his ever trusty car.
Stupid Football (present): This football deserves a special mention, since it is in the centre of the picture and taking up a lot of space too (stealing the limelight from the real show, which is the HOT middle-age ah soh in the background of the picture).
Ah Guo: Well well, the birthday boy himself!!! This poor sob counts himself unlucky that we are some of his closest friends since our secondary school days in Anglican High, because we guys tend to buy sports equipment for him for his birthdays so we guys can use it ourselves (ok, I know a lot of people will be disgusted at us). Anyway, he now owns a basketball, table tennis stuffs, and also a tennis racket. So what do you think we will get for him for his 24th birthday??? No prizes for guessing correctly, but chances are, we will get him a beach volleyball this year 2000 (even though he insisted to us that he does not like beach volleyball). Tough luck!!!
Guanglong: Our friendly neighbourhood policeman and fellow basketball kaki. Guanglong has been a terror (and still is) mahjong and basketball player since his secondary school days. Organiser of our weekly basketball sessions at TJC on Sundays and sometimes on weekdays when he is off from his lazing job of waiting for crimes to happen around Bedok (oops, did I say that?). Sometimes, he also act as the driver cum order-control guy when we guys get drunk at some stupid pub (guess it must be hard on him). Anyway, he has just given us a treat the other time, so I should spare him from my crap.
Ah Zhong: Well, what more can I say about myself??? Guess you people must be bored hearing me rattle on about how good I am and other equally disgusting stuff, so I should spare you guys the torture.
