Cora’s Family History Research

MAIN MENU

My genealogy addiction developed in February 2002.  After moving back from Japan and taking a job with the federal government, I became conscious of my heritage in Washington D.C. (not only being born here) and the fact that I come from a long line of civil servants, beginning after the Civil War.  Having various resources at my disposal in the area, such as the National Archives, fueled my curiosity.  The search led me to South Dakota where I spent four days exploring the prairies where my ancestors had once tried to establish new roots.  I have compiled my research results thus far into a narrative that includes links to related websites and photos both old and new.
