This was my first attempt at fanfiction a couple years ago, and I must admit it is my worst attempt, but I couldn't leave my first try out of my fanfic page. Seeing how I'm a big fan of Seiya Kou, I felt sorry for him and decided to write a story where Usagi fell in love with him, too. But since I'm also a big fan of the true romance of Usagi & Mamoru, I made this a bad idea where Seiya still had to go back to his home planet, so Usagi just fell apart. Anyway, any comments are welcome.

Usagi lay on her bed, listening to the screams and the laughter. She didn't get up, nor did she take out her locket she had hidden so long ago and shout, "Moon Crisis! Make up!" Instead, she lay there staring at the cold, dark night out her window.

All of a sudden, she heard the banging at her door, the shouts of "Usagi!! Usagi!!" Through her window, she saw the eight scouts frantically banging at her door. Eight? thought Usagi. No, that's not right. There's nine. Wait, I was the ninth. No, there was another. She closed her eyes and tuned out the world; the laughter, screaming, banging, and shouts all disappeared in her mind as she searched her brain for the ninth.

When she awoke, there was no more screaming; no more banging or shouting. There was only evil laughter. She looked at her hand to see it clutching a single red rose. Mamo-chan. She knew he still loved her. Deep in her heart, she knew she still loved him too. Things had been so different when Seiya came and left. There was no way she could ever go back to loving Mamoru with Seiya on her mind all the time.

Usagi finally got up, and trudged outside into the cold air. She walked for what seemed like hours, her feet sore, her hands bleeding from clutching the rose. Then, her feet stopped, and she saw nine bodies lying at the feet of nine evil beings: the Wiseman, Dimand, Sapphire, Esmeraude, Rubeus, and the Four Sisters.

NO!!! Her head screamed. No!! Please, let this be a dream! She wanted to run to them, hold Mamoru for the last time, weep and mourn for her friends, her sisters. But her body did not follow her command. She just stood there, and the rose in her hand wilted; nine rose petals fell to the ground, nine rose petals lay there among the nine brave souls who tried to defend their universe. But, without their leader, it could not have been done.

Usagi could not remember what had happened since that day. Was it long ago? Or was it yesterday? How could she ever know? All she knew was that she was the Black Lady, wife of Prince Dimand, and a princess of the Negaverse. She actually didn't care, either. Nothing mattered anymore.

As she stared into the emptiness of her castle, a huge white light shone, and out stepped............ Setsuna!! Sailor Pluto!! It can't be! Usagi thought. She's dead! Suddenly, she thought of something. Something about Pluto's powers. It seemed like a millennium since she'd fought among her sisters. She could barely remember their names or powers. She started walking towards Setsuna, but in an instant she was gone, and so was the beautiful light that had given Usagi the last bit of hope in this dark, dreary world.

Setsuna sighed as she finally recognized the beautiful and serene Crystal Tokyo. They were all there among the flowers: Ami, Rei, Makoto, Minako, Michiru, Haruka, Hotaru... In the middle of the beautiful landscape was Neo Queen Serenity, King Endymion, and Small Lady, who was laughing. They looked like the most perfect family in the universe.

What had just happened? She had been time traveling, and she knew she had gone to the right year. There couldn't be a mistake in that. Does the Time Staff have a new power? Can it send me into different dimensions?

"Hey! Where have you been?" Setsuna looked down to see Small Lady staring up at her.

"Oh, here and there." Setsuna smiled. "What matters most is that I'm here now, and I'd really like to join you in the field." As she ran down the hill to join the others, as she thought of the Serenity she'd seen just a few moments before. But as she looked at Neo Queen Serenity, her natural glow of beauty radiant around her, Setsuna just smiled at the beautiful sunset.

Chibiusa.Usagi startled herself by shouting the name in her head. Who's Chibiusa? I don't remember any Chibiusa. All of a sudden, there was a pang in her head. It's the answer. But the answer to what?

Usagi got up out of her chair and walked towards the window. Outside, she saw the cold, dark and dreary world that had become her home. She thought of Setsuna, and how she must have been crazy to have thought that she had seen her. She thought of her sisters, and how she'd never see them again. She thought of...... Mamoru. Why had Mamoru popped into her head and not Seiya? Finally, she realized she did not love Seiya. She loved Mamoru. She thought of how perhaps her life would have been different if she had realized that earlier. And for the first time in years, Usagi wept.
