Ami is a
bookish girl who was a loner till she found Sailor Moon.
She was found when Jadeite attacked the afternoon
institute she went to. Her mother is a doctor, and her
father is a travel painter, who sends her some paints
time to time (but no letters). She wants to be a doctor,
because of her mother's example.
Ami says somehow weird things sometimes, and she blushes afterwards. She sort-of not knows how to be with friends, because she was alone a lot of time. In love life, she had a kind of boyfriend called Ryo Urawa who knew her secret identity, but he had to go away. And she had a secret admirer, called Mercurius (Sumi Kurume) but she never got to met him. (wanna see him?)
Her name means Friend of the Water, though some say its Beautiful Center of Water. Anyway, both fit her charcater. Her powers are all water based. This comes from the fact that Mercury in Japanese is called Water Star. In SuperS she transforms in Super Sailor Mercury.
