Create Guide

The guide knows all the shortcuts the caster does, but will not always use them first try! At the DM's discretion, the guide can lead a group into nearly any situation as long as it is conceivably 'on the way' to their next location. If the situation forces the group to retreat, the guide can conveniently reveal an alternate route that would have gotten them there also--usually much faster.

Looking-glass

Because it transposes the mage with their reflection, the caster reappears as a mirror image of their self, including transposing their handedness and other such features. The next use of this spell will restore them to their natural orientation. This is not obvious from the spell contents, but causes no penalties or bonuses.

Casting this spell on a mirror will put the caster into the border ethereal, that portion of the ethereal plane which overlaps the Prime. The caster will still be able to see things on the Prime plane, but will effectively be invisible (and can be seen with detect invisible) and can not affect nor be affected by most things on the Prime plane. If not restored to the Prime plane by other means, the caster can repeat this spell on any mirror to return. This function is not obvious from the spell contents unless the person reading the spell is at least 10th-level, or a specialist in conjuration, geometry or shadow magic. Consult the Manual of the Planes or TSR's PLANESCAPE setting for more specific information on the border ethereal.

Nightlight

This picture provides an example somewhat like the "depth distortion" effect created by using nightlight.

Because of this distortion effect, the DM may choose to rule that characters suffer a -2 penalty to all actions the first time they are subjected to this spell. This penalty is reduced by one every half an hour the spell continues.

Wall of Dreams

DMs who wish to tone this spell down may wish to make changes such as the following:
