What is Sailor Moon?

Sailor Moon is an anime (japanese cartoon) classified as a "Magical Girl" show. "Magical Girl" anime usually contains the elements of humor, romance, fantasy and action. The characters is almost always a teenage girl who has some magical item that can transform her into a super-hero. (that fits Sailor Moon)

Sailor Moon herself is actually quite klutzy and crybabyish so she needs help to take on the meanies (the Negaverse). This help is the other Sailor Scouts (Mercury, Mars, Venus and Jupiter). Together they fight for "luv" and "justice." :)

This show was originally made for young girls but its very popular with people of all ages.

Sailor Moon was originally a manga (comic book) created by Takeuchi Naoko. Her drawings inspired the television series of sailor moon, but was actually based on her manga "Code Name: Sailor V" which appears a lot in Sailor Moon. Sailor Venus (Mina) is the model for Sailor V.
