Endymion took a
walk in the Palace Garden after he left the Computer Room. He felt
like his heart was breaking into a million
pieces.
The dreadful scene
of how Serenity had lost her soul came back to plague him. It was
all his fault! He cursed himself.
The dreadful scene had been haunting him ever since it had
happened. If Serenity had never leaped
in front of him when the bolt came......then Serenity
would be left with the burden of having
him lose his soul and memory. Did he really want that?
He wasn t sure.
So there you are!
Startled, Endymion
looked about and found Eve floating in mid-air above him. She was
garbed in black and looked stunningly beautiful
in it. But Endymion lacked the leisure and spirit
to appreciate such beauty this time.
For this time he knew this beauty was really associated with
evil. Besides, he was too preoccupied
and worried with his amnesiated wife already. He had
only hatred toward this stunning beauty
this time.
Eve! Endymion
shouted. Anger was flaring in his eyes violently. What are
you doing
here?
I missed you,
my sweet. Eve smiled seductively.
To hell with you!
Endymion cursed. Normally, it wasn't like him to swear at people.
But today he was in a BAD mood. Just give back my wife s soul!
No, I didn t take
Neo-Queen Serenity s soul. Eve shook her head with a bewitching
smile, but it didn t daunt Endymion as his
wife s smile always does. My brother did. You
should go after him instead.
Then what are
you doing here? Endymion demanded angrily.
I told you.
I missed you. I wanted to see you. Eve said temptingly.
But I want nothing
to do with you! Traitor! Endymion snapped. Now go
away if
you aren t going to give back my wife s
soul!
What does that
klutzy Queen of yours have that I don t? Don t you find me more
attractive, smart, graceful, and skilled
in cooking? Eve floated towards him.
Endymion backed
away with disgust, That s none of your business, evil creature!
Of course it s
my business! Eve laughed. She s my rival!
Then you re doomed
to lose! Endymion bellowed. Just go away! Evil hag!
He started back towards the Palace. But Eve floated in front of him
and blocked his path.
What do you want?
Endymion demanded furiously. Can t you just leave me alone?
Of course not. Eve tried to
embrace him, but he jerked away quickly. Because I
want you.
But I don t want
you! Endymion snapped. Now if you don t get the hell out
of my
way, I ll make you move!
I d like to see
you try! Eve smiled wickedly, and tried to embrace him again, but
Endymion jerked away as before.
Golden Crystal
Power!
Endymion transformed,
and in an instant Tuxedo Kamen stood there in his dashing cape
and tuxedo, all ready for battle.
Hmmm, you look
even more handsome with your mask and tuxedo on. Eve
remarked.
Now listen, evil
tart. You tried to deceive an innocent male. I, Tuxedo Kamen,
will not
tolerate that. I, in the name of the
Golden Crystal and my Guardian Planet, Earth, shall defend
my honor and virtue, while my infinity phenomenal
wife is unable to at the moment! Tuxedo
Kamen declared faithfully, thinking of his
wife, Serenity.
Oh dear!
I m so scared! Eve laughed mockingly.
Tuxedo Kamen took
out his cane and charged at her. At the same time, a black sword
appeared in Eve s hand as she countered
Tuxedo Kamen s attack.
Although he lacked
powerful magical attacks like that of Sailor Moon and her court,
Tuxedo Kamen was an excellent swordsman.
He handled his cane smoothly and expertly.
Eventually Eve was forced into defense position,
having to counter Tuxedo Kamen s powerful
offenses. He almost slain Eve a couple
times, missing her by less an inch. Finally, Eve s sword
shattered after several of his powerful
slashes, and the cane sliced a deep cut on her right arm.
Eve screamed in pain as she fell to the
ground, signaling defeat. Tuxedo Kamen quickly pointed
the tip of his cane at her throat to prevent
her from recovering.
I m impressed.
Eve said temptingly. Well, at least she sounded like it. I
guess I
underestimated you. Now that I m your
captive, you can do whatever you want with me.
In the past, he
would have just let her go free, for someone who admitted defeat like that.
But he could hardly afford to be merciful
this time. The key to recover the Queen s soul lies in
those aliens. Mercury had said.
Now that one of the aliens was captive, they may be able to find
a more efficient way to restore the Queen s
memory. The way how his wife had handled the
computer so expertly worried him.
After all, he was more use to his wife s inablities and
clumsiness. But the idea of the increased
potential of curing Serenity brightened his mood.
Serenity might still have a chance!
Endymion sat on
his royal throne alone in the Court Room. A serge of grief swept
through him as he looked at the empty silver
throne beside him. They had decided to have this
emergency meeting in the Court Room right
after Endymion broke the news of his prior battle
with Eve. Everyone got excited.
After all, this was a huge step closer to recover the Queen s soul.
They had decided
to let the Queen go on with the computer, after how she had
impressed them with the knowledge and all.
Therefore they emerged into the Court Room to
discuss this business with Eve. Though
Small Lady had chose to stay with her mother, just in
case if anything went wrong -- Neo-Queen
Serenity was never known to be very
computer-friendly, and none of them felt
at all secure with the way she handle it so perfectly and
smoothly.
......and now
the alien is in the Crystal Dungeon. Neo-King Endymion finally finished
telling the others about his battle with
Eve.
Uh......no offense,
your Majesty, but, isn t it too easy for an alien as strong as her to be
defeated? Mars frowned.
Neo-King Endymion
nodded thoughtfully, Yes, I think so. Could this be a trap?
Trap or no, there
would be no point of letting her go free. I suggest that maybe
Mercury should analyze this alien s nature
before we decide anything else? Uranus said.
Agreed.
Neo-King Endymion nodded. But, meanwhile, Mercury, I would like
you to
remain here until this meeting is dismissed,
since there may be some other things that may
require your information.
As you command,
your Majesty. Mercury curtseyed.
Neo-King Endymion
changed the subject, What do you think had invoked the Queen s
sudden intelligence?
I think it has
a lot to do with the loss of the Queen s soul. Pluto implied.
Obviously.
Neo-King Endymion agreed, I have a frightening notion, but I can t prove
it, yet it is still possible.
The Court Room
was silent. Everyone waited anxiously for the King to go on.
Neo-King Endymion
took a deep breath, and told them about his strange dream the
night before. I was afraid that the
Queen s being brainwashed. But since I have no proof with
this hypothesis, I kept the thought to myself.
But now that intelligence and the way she handles
that computer......It sounds like she was
gathering information for the enemy or something.
Your Majesty,
are you saying that the Queen is......uh.....maybe a spy? Neptune
asked
carefully.
Neo-King Endymion
nodded gravely, his eyebrows wrinkled. But I can t be sure about
that. If it turns out that she wasn t
a spy......she may get mad at me for not trusting her......
Neo-King Endymion paused and sighed.
I......I......you know what our relationship is like right
now. She doesn t remember a thing
about me. She......she treats me like a total stranger.....
Endymion lowered his head in grief, unable
to finish his sentence.
The senshi eyed
him with sympathy. Pluto tried to console him, Your Majesty, we
understand your situation, and we feel sorry
for you. But I, on behalf of all of us, promise you,
your Majesty, will try our best to help
the Queen to get back her soul, no matter what it takes.
And the others nodded agreement.
Neo-King Endymion
smiled obligingly, despite the bitterness of that smile, Thank you,
Pluto. Thank you, everyone.
The group went to
the Crystal Dungeon to interview Eve, with Neo-King Endymion in
the lead, followed by Small Lady and the
line of senshi.
The Crystal Dungeon
was set up as a huge dome of bubble, with the prisoner locked
inside, and absolutely no escape.
Since the wall of the bubble was charged with high
energy-reducing electrons, invented by Saturn,
who was a successful scientist before the time of
the Crystal Millennium. Anyone trying
to break through the bubble unauthorized will suffer a
loss of energy for a short period of time.
At the same time it will turn on the alarm in the Central
Control, and the senshi on duty will be
alerted to prevent any further evasion. With a system like
that, it would be impossible for anyone
to escape. This magnificent and complicated system, was
of course, created and maintained by Sailor
Mercury.
Eve sat in the
middle of the bubble at ease, as if she wasn t in a dungeon, but a fancy
bedroom. Then, when she saw Endymion
and the others coming towards them, she got up from
her pose and said teased him temptingly,
Hello, handsome!
Endymion s face
darkened with fury and embarrassment, I don t think that s funny,
Eve. He was glad he told the senshi
in advance about Eve s attitude towards him. Otherwise,
Neo-Queen Serenity will have a fit if she
ever find out about that after she recover her soul.
Oh! Really!
Eve asked with mock innocent. By the way, who are those people?
Your concubines?
Everyone blushed
furiously at Eve s wicked comment. Jupiter looked ready to punch
her
in the face, but Mars held her back before
she could do anything. Pluto stole a glance at the King
and blushed. Everybody else was humiliated.
Endymion s face was burning like fire. He
snapped in embarrassment, Watch your tongue!
Eve stuck out her
tongue playfully, and rolled her eyes down, Like this?
Endymion finally
concluded they could get nothing out of Eve s mouth. It would only
be
a waste of effort trying to talk to the
mischievous alien. He sighed and turned to Mercury.
Mercury, you can
begin your work.
The genius curtseyed,
As you command, your Majesty. The she took out her
mini-computer and started to type rapidly
on the little keyboard, at about 100wpm. Endymion
felt somewhat relieved inside that Serenity
still couldn t beat Mercury. It wasn t that he didn t
like her intelligence, but a intelligence
smarter than Mercury would be too scary.
Is it okay with
you if we let you work here alone? In fact, we wouldn t be much of
a
help here regarding such technical work.
Endymion asked.
Sure. Mercury
said simply, too busy typing and slaving her computer with
complicated instructions and formulas and
such in which no one of the remaining group
understood.
Hey! Sweetheart!
You aren t going to leave me here with a fleshed computer, are
you? Eve joked temptingly.
Mercury paid no
attention to Eve s description about her. In fact she did seem like
a
fleshed computer to the others.
But, fed up with Eve s attitude, Endymion just turned and left
the dungeon along with the senshi without
uttering another word.
Neo-Queen Serenity
explored around the Crystal Palace in the company of her daughter,
Princess Small Lady.
She was feeling
a little dizzy after spending a whole day in the Computer Room. The
others seemed to be petrified when they
saw her using the computer without a big ERROR
flashing on the screen. In fact she
was amazed herself. Although the computer didn t seem too
hard to use, she wouldn t have used it so
efficiently in her right mind. So what was going on
back there? She couldn t figure out.
For some reason
her heart tensed, and felt somewhat depressed when Endymion left the
room as if he was hurt. She did feel
something special about him. Something warm and familiar
that heated up her whole body. He
had claimed that he was her husband, and he did seem to
care a lot about her. But something
deep inside herself, like a voice spoken silently, kept telling
her not to believe him. It was a voice
she didn t want to hear, but could not refuse to hear or
simply ignore. It just came to her
with tremendous force of command, making her do whatever
he had told her to do. Like
the instructions on the computer. All that knowledge just came to
her all of a sudden, flowing into her as
if someone was telling her what to do. It had made her do
various things with the computer, while
she was completely clueless of the outcome. Also, when
the senshi and Endymion spoke to her, she
suddenly blurted out a speech that sounded like total
gibberish to her. But she was afraid
to tell the others what actually happened inside her, since
she wasn t quite sure what it was herself.
Therefore she kept her mouth shut.
Mother, you look
tired. Actually you look ill. Would you like to go back to
your room
and rest for a while? Small Lady
asked.
In fact I m having
a headache right now. Serenity replied weakly to her daughter who
didn t look too much younger than her.
But in Crystal Tokyo everyone was ageless, so it didn t
matter. As they proceeded towards
her temporary bedroom, the scenes around her began to spin.
She almost tripped and fell on the floor,
but a strong, muscular arm caught her in time and
helped her up.
Suddenly she had
a vision. She was in causal street clothing of the 20th century s
fashion, chewing gum. Her surroundings
were no longer the fancy hallway of the Crystal Palace,
but a small lake in a park, those that rented
boats to couples for dates. In fact she was in one
herself. Directly in front of her
was Endymion s handsome, caring face. He was wearing a pink
shirt and light brown jeans, no mask.
If only he would keep his face unmasked at all
times.....She thought. There was that
warm, familiar gaze from his eyes. Their rental hour was
up and Mamo-chan peddled the boat back to
the port. Wait a second! What did I call him?
Mamo-chan? That sounded like a good
name. She thought. Endymion, no, Mamo-chan got up
to the port first. Then he held out
his hand to help her up. She took his hand, but still clumsily
tripped over the step and landed on his
chest with a hard bump. She blushed and looked up,
and found his warm, loving gaze meeting
hers. What a klutz! But, you re my klutz. He said
gently. Really? Mamo-chan?
She asked, and closed her eyes. Usako...... He called her.
Was her name Usako by then? Oh!
Who cares anyway! Then, they kissed......
Are you alright?
Serenity was back
to reality again, and found herself in Endymion s arms. She blushed
and backed away, her heart beating at a
speed about three times faster than her normal rate.
Why was she reacting like that? Was
it because of that vision? There was something familiar
about that feeling......And where did that
vision come from? Questions stormed her mind
instantly, puzzling her.
Uh......yeah,
I m fine. Serenity lowered her head, avoiding his concerned gaze.
She
wasn t sure she can survive her unusual
heartbeat if their gazes met! Just a little tired. I guess
I ll go get some rest right now.
And she hurried away to her room without looking back.
Endymion watched
his wife disappear behind the corner. For a moment he almost
thought she had remembered everything of
her past. Those pupils of hers was so full of love and
affection, just like the old days.
But once again his hope shattered, along with his heart.
What happened?
Endymion turned
and found Pluto behind him, her eyes glowing with concern and
question. Small Lady stood beside
her, her reddish eyes shining with sympathy and
understanding. Her meatball hairstyle
reminded him of Serenity s own. Everything of hers
resembled her mother. For the first
time in his life he found he couldn t bear the sight of his own
daughter.
Where s the rest
of the senshi? Endymion asked, but his mind was elsewhere.
Why? They re
back to their own duties! Your Majesty, you just dismissed them
yourself a couple minutes ago. And
I m just on my way to the Time Gate. Are you alright? Your
Majesty?
Oh. Endymion
responded as if he never heard Pluto at all. His eyes seemed to be
looking at somewhere else, where Serenity
was, only that she was no where in sight.
Uh......Small Lady, would you mind finishing
up the day s work for me? I m afraid I m not up
to it right now.
Sure, daddy, no
problem. Small Lady nodded and left after a curtsey.
Pluto was about
to dismiss herself when Endymion called her, Pluto......uh......do you
have time to talk?
Pluto opened her
mouth in surprise and then smiled, Sure, your Majesty. I always
have
plenty of time.
Endymion smiled
too, as he realized his mistake: Pluto was the Mistress of Time.
But he felt in
need of having someone to talk to about his relationship problems with
Serenity. Her coldness towards him
was about to kill him! He wanted to express his grief to
someone, someone he could trust and would
listen. He didn t choose any of the Inners, since
Venus would just spread the news to the
whole kingdom, making sure every single person know
of it, for she was, secretly called, the
Mistress of Gossip. Mars was a bit too forceful, and he
couldn t stand her blunt statements.
Jupiter might be a good listener, but he was afraid she
might drag him right to Serenity and blab
about what he had just told her. Mercury was too
preoccupied with computers, besides, he
wouldn t want a lecture from her regarding the topic
Love and Relationships , and the way she
talked using so much difficult vocabularies it needed
special interpretation. Neptune and
Uranus was never close to him, he didn t know them well
enough to tell them his inside feelings.
Saturn was never close to anyone except for Small Lady.
Besides he didn t want to consult such matters
with someone so much younger than him. And
obviously he couldn t talk to Small Lady.
How can he talk to his daughter about his problems
with her mother? It would only place
her in a difficult situation, not knowing which side she
should support, since she loved both her
parents. That left Pluto the only eligible person to talk
to.
Serenity banged
the door of her temporary bedroom shut. Then she threw herself on her
bed and breathed a sigh of relief.
Clips of memories
flashed back in her mind along the way as she ran back to her room.
What was happening to her? Where did
all those memories come from?
She was remembering
her past bit by bit, but in a funny order. She remembered the
battle with Galaxia and Chaos, and then
she was back in the Moon Kingdom dancing with Prince
Endymion. She felt a surge of pain
in her mind.
No! She
screamed. What s happening to me?
Curses!
A voice appeared out of nowhere. The voice was male, and it seemed
to be
coming from somewhere inside her.
What? Serenity
looked up in surprise. Who s talking?
A figure appeared
in front of her and shaped into a human. It was Vil!
Who are you?
Serenity demanded, and made a huge mistake by staring into his eyes.
I m Vil, your
rightful master. Vil grinned evilly, mesmerizing her. From
now on,
you ll only listen to me. You ll serve
me, and only me. And you ll do whatever I say.
Hypnotized, Serenity
knelt down blankly, Yes, master. I ll do whatever you say.
Eve yawned for the
tenth time in the Crystal Dungeon. She had thought she could
escape anytime she want, but she was mistaken.
The Crystal Dungeon defenses was way
stronger then she could handle. But,
mainly, she had never thought it would be so BORING in
there.
But she wasn t
the least bit sorry. Eve sighed as Endymion s handsome face appeared
in
her mind for the thousandth time.
She had liked him at first sight. But she wasn t sure that was
love, since evil creatures don t love.
Or do they? Anyway, she still felt attracted to this human
king in a light purple tuxedo. Whenever
she saw him, she could feel her blood racing inside her.
Her face would be burning like fire.
She had liked him, alright.
Eve watched the
senshi named Sailor Mercury depart after she finished her computer
work. Did she find out anything?
Eve wondered. Secretly, Eve hoped she would, since she
didn t know anything much about herself
either. And neither did Vil. Their origins had always
been a mystery to them. They had no
memory of their past what so ever. But who cares about
the past anyway. What matters was
the future, when Crystal Tokyo fall in their hands......Eve
smiled evilly as she thought.
Eve sighed again,
as her thoughts went back to the handsome face of Endymion, the
man that will never be hers......
Neo-King Endymion
and Pluto proceeded to the Time Gate. Pluto had set up a little rest
room there. It had a genuine computer
there which can detect any unusual activity that occurred
in Time, since Pluto s legs tend to get
sore standing at the Gate for more than ten centuries. All
those fantastic premises, was, of course,
one of Mercury s marvelous work.
Pluto had made
them some tea. Then Endymion and Pluto sat facing each other.
The
King started after a sip.
I think you understand
how the Queen and I s situation is, Pluto. I......it just......I
just
want to find someone to talk to......
Endymion sighed.
I understand,
your Majesty. Pluto said knowingly. It must be very hard
for you.
Small Lady s been
stressed out. I wish I could help her. But I can t......I just......I
can t
even think straight these days. Serenity s
been treating me like a stranger. But who could blame
her? It was all my fault! It
was all because of me that she had lost her soul! Endymion
lowered his head.
No, it isn t your
fault, your Majesty. Pluto shook her head. Had I reversed
the Time
and have everything happen once again, the
Queen would have done the same for you, your
Majesty. She had protected you and
sacrificed herself only because she loves you. Had you and
the Queen switched positions, you would
have done the same for her.
The King looked
thoughtful for a while, and then nodded, Yes, I guess you re right,
Pluto.
Your Majesty,
Pluto continued. Everyone in the palace knows how upset you are
these days. The Princess especially.
Small Lady has always hated politics as much as you and
the Queen do. While you and the Queen
were away, she had been coming to me everyday and
complained about this and that. But
now that the Queen s in trouble, I haven t heard another
protestation uttering from her mouth ever
since. Your Majesty, you must know that everyone
here is by your side in this difficult battle.
The Queen had always known she would never be
alone in her battles. And never will
you, my King.
Thank you, Pluto.
Neo-King Endymion smiled obligingly.
Suddenly, a voice
from the computer interrupted them, Heat energy detected at
X-753.92 and Y-664.75. Repeat.
Heat energy detected at X-753.92 and Y-664.75......
An intruder?
Pluto got up. Your Majesty, if you ll excuse me, I must go and
investigate.
I ll go with you.
Endymion volunteered. He was as curious as Pluto was. Who would
be intruding at this minute?
Pluto nodded, Follow
me, please, your Majesty.
They went to the
coordinates the computer had indicated, but found nothing.
I guess we re
late. Endymion sighed. Whoever that intruder is, he must
have
teleported away.
Pluto smiled, Your
Majesty, you forget my power again.
But you re not
supposed to reverse time if not necessary. Endymion protested.
It s
Rule Number One in the Time Laws.
Two things.
Pluto chuckled. First, whatever the heat energy is, it might have
something to do with Vil, who lives in the
Void. And Time is somewhat overlapped with the Void.
Therefore it is necessary to reverse Time,
if I choose to. Second, I wasn t going to reverse Time.
I m just going to use my power to make a
temporary tapestry which will show whatever that had
happened here a few minutes ago. My
Time Scepter allows me to do that. It does not violate
any laws.
Oh. Endymion
felt stupid, but he knew better than to speak and make a fool of
himself again.
Pluto held up her
Scepter. The red crystal ball on top of her Scepter flashed, and
a Time
Tapestry appeared in front of them.
First it showed nothing but the plain, old background of
Time. Then someone appeared.
Endymion and Pluto gasped as they saw who it was. It was
Vil! He was holding something that
shone as bright as the moon in his hands. It s the Queen s
soul! Then, Vil suddenly stopped short.
He must have realized that he had stepped out of the
Void and into Time, and was wary that his
presence in Time might have turned on some alarms.
He teleported away immediately, and the
scene was back to the dull background of Time.
Pluto made the
Tapestry disappear. Then she looked at Neo-King Endymion, who was
as alarmed as she was.
I can t believe
we missed him! Pluto exclaimed. Let me check......
She looked at
her flashing crystal ball on her Scepter.
We missed him by exactly two minutes and fifteen
seconds!
Endymion stared
at her, Pluto......you said......you can reverse......Time?
Pluto opened her
mouth in surprise, Why, yes! We can go back in Time and trap Vil!
Endymion nodded
enthusiastically, But we must fetch the others first!
Pluto nodded agreement,
and they hurried off.
It was a close
call. Vil murmured to himself as he stepped back into his home territory
-- the Void.
And after a few
close calls, they ll finally get you. It was Serenity s voice, coming
from
the white, shining object Vil was holding
in the palm of his hand......her soul.
Ha-ha-ha!
Vil laughed dryly. What a joke.
Joke or not, you re
destined to fail in your plan of taking over the world. Serenity s
soul declared.
Without you using
the Imperial Silver Crystal against me, no one can defeat me. Vil
argued.
But there s still
my husband s Golden Crystal. And the power of the other senshi.
Especially Saturn. If you push her
temper over the edge, she ll destroy the world along with
you. Serenity intoned.
They ll reconsider
that, without you to recreate the universe for them. Vil pointed
out.
And by the way, I ve heard that Saturn s
one of the best-tempered senshi in Crystal Tokyo, isn t
she?
Serenity s soul
flushed pink, You ll see!
Vil paused, then
said, You know what, even though you re a klutz queenie, and despite
the fact that you re the enemy, I have to
admit that Tuxedo-loving King of yours is a lucky man.
Why would you
say that? Are you saying you ve fallen in love with me? Serenity
teased.
Ha-ha! Don t
make me laugh! Vil scoffed. Who would fall in love with a
clumsy,
stupid, klutzy, pathetic meatball-headed
brat like you?
Well, you can
go and ask my husband about that. By the way, that s what he use
to
think of me, too, before he got to know
me. Serenity remarked.
And after he got
to know you better, he realized he had underestimated your stupidity!
Vil shot back.
Ha-ha-ha!
Serenity laughed dryly. Funny. If you really think that, than
why did
you say that he was lucky?
I said he was
lucky because my sister likes him. Vil smiled wickedly.
What do you mean?
Your sister like him? That half-witted, moronic, brainless, dense,
ugly hag! Serenity demanded dangerously.
Hey! Don t
swear! Well, I can t say she loves him. We creatures of evil
can t love.
Maybe I should say she has an interest in
him? Vil hinted speculatively and slyly.
Wait till I get
my hands on that crone of a shrew! Serenity snapped. She can t
steal
my husband from me!
Fat chance!
That is, if you d ever have the chance to leave here! Vil laughed.
Serenity was silent. The light
from her soul dimmed a little.
For some reason, Vil felt sad when
he saw Serenity was upset. He tried to cheer her up.
Hey! Don t
worry! If your husband divorce with you, you can remarry me!
Vil
teased.
Dream on!
Serenity snapped. Who would want to marry an evil jerk like you?
Hey! I may
be evil, but I m not a jerk! Vil protested.
Who cares?
Isn t the two words similar in meaning? Serenity said crossly.
Are you pathetic
with words or what? Vil chuckled. You should go take a lecture
with your Sailor Mercury!
No! I ll
not! Serenity flared. A lecture with Mercury would be the
last thing in the
world she would ever want. She paused
for a moment, then asked, How did you know about
Sailor Mercury? You haven t met her
yet! You seem to know a lot about us!
I know much more
about you than you think I do. Vil smiled. I have someone
working undercover for me in the palace.
There s a spy
in the palace? Serenity asked, aghast. Who? Who is
it?
You.
Who? Me?
Yes. You.
Vil smiled wickedly. Your body, which is mindless and has no memory
right now, is working for me and getting
me all the information I need without knowing it herself.
Since I have your soul, I can control your
body and have you do whatever I want. Even to kill
your BELOVED Endymion. Vil emphasized
the word beloved purposely.
No! Don t
do that! Serenity screamed. Her soul turning red. I
beg you, please don t
do that!
I never said I
did! Vil spread his hands playfully.
Serenity seemed
relieved. Her soul turned back to its normal color. Then, realizing
something, she asked, Why didn t you just
simply take over the kingdom with my body under
your control?
Vil stared at the
soul and sighed suddenly, I don t know.
Why wouldn t you
know? Serenity asked, confused.
I......I......It
didn t feel right. To tell you the truth, I don t even know why I m
doing this
to you and Crystal Tokyo. I just have
to do it. It s like......it s like there s a voice inside me telling
me to do it. It just keep making me
do things against my will. Vil said hesitatingly.
You re being possessed.
Serenity said quietly.
What?
You re being possessed.
Serenity repeated, then she added. An evil force had taken
over your body. Perhaps Eve s too.
Yes, that must be it. You know, you don t sound at all evil
to me yourself. That wondering look
on your face when you talk about love......and your tried to
cheer me up when I was upset about Endymion
and Eve. Besides, deep inside yourself, you
didn t want to invade Crystal Tokyo.
It is that evil force that had made you do it. You still have
goodness in you, Vil. And I think
Eve does, too. Despite that old bag of a hag still has an eye on
my husband.
I m not sure......but,
you know, you could be right! Vil said thoughtfully.
Then, suddenly,
Vil realized his body was fading, and so was Serenity s soul.
What s happening
to us? Vil exclaimed in horror.
We......we re
going back in Time!
